2016 Imported Thoroughbred Gelding by Galileo standing at approx. 16.1hh.
Retired from racing in January 2024 after a highly successful career, earning just under $1 million and featuring in the 2021 Melbourne Cup. He was spelled post-retirement and began retraining in October 2024.
“Gally” is a kind, straightforward horse with a lovely temperament—what you see at home is exactly what you get out and about. He’s safe to hack out alone and is unbothered by traffic, wildlife, or new environments.
He’s easy to manage, with excellent feet (front shod only due to riding on gravel roads) and is a good doer who requires minimal feed.
Gally has been off property many times—he’s attended riding club, lessons, Eventing squad clinics, and has schooled at numerous venues.
Competition Record (3 starts, 3 placings):
> 4th Mansfield EA HT 65cm – 69.69%
> 7th Camperdown EA HT 65cm – 64.38%
> 5th Moyhu PC HT 80cm – 70.5%
He is entered for 80 at Mansfield this weekend followed by 95 at Albury, and—if still with me—will head to the Melbourne International 3DE for the Rising Star class.
A flashy, expressive mover who carries himself in a natural frame and turns heads in the dressage ring.
Over fences, Gally is a careful jumper—particularly in Showjumping, where he tends to bascule generously to avoid touching rails. This can make him feel a bit cautious, but he is honest and genuine. This is the horse who will do his very best to leave the rails up on Day 3!
On cross-country, he is a fantastic ride: bold, forward, and willing—happily tackling ditches, water, and technical questions without hesitation.
Gally is uncomplicated to ride and has been a pleasure to produce. He would suit a confident intermediate+ rider looking to develop a talented horse through the levels. He is a serious competition prospect and will only be sold to a competitive, experienced home.
Additional Notes:
> He can paw in the float when travelling alone. This is effectively managed with hobbles, which have worked well without issue.
> Eligible for Equimillions and the Rising Star class at the Melbourne International 3DE.
Gally has the talent and temperament to be a top-class 3DE horse and has an exciting future ahead of him.
