Early start today for our first ever Bulldog Day at Newark Show Ground 11am-4pm
All the lads of the house are still snoring but I'm excited to see all those gorgeous squishy faces!
All breeds welcome so pop down and check it out. No need to worry about the weather, there are inside stalls, and my NEW stall set up will give you a place to shelter 😁😁 pics to follow

Who doesn't love a good Makers Market haul?
Giving a big to three lovely makers we met today:
frank.barkery - Cakes, biscuits and donuts for dogs? Errmmm... It's a yes from Monty and Major! The owner (who's a chef) was so knowledgeable and helpful too 😁
- lots of natural treats, chews, eco friendly toys and accessories galore. The stall was 💯 my cup of tea and I just know the boys will love the Venison and Duck sticks.
- not dog related hut it's Bank Holiday and who doesn't like a tipple on a bank holiday Sunday?? Plus, anyone who know me knows I like my whiskey and the fruity English Whiskey was so nice I had to have a little bottle!
Definitely worth giving these fab businesses a follow and check out for more dates and places that these markets are on.

🌱Let’s talk ingredients, shall we?🌱
Did you know that for human skincare products, companies have to list ALL ingredients with their latin name (INCI) on the packaging. Essentially this means that you can look on the label and research the ingredients to see exactly what you’re putting on your skin 🙌
Ingredients only have ONE INCI name but could have a lot of other commercial names.
By using the INCI for the ingredient, this means that a company can’t claim that something is one thing, when it isn’t 🎉
It stops the green washing 🌱, helps customers to make informed choices, and ultimately keeps companies honest about what they’re selling.
All good stuff, yes? 💯
Unfortunately, for dogcare products, there is NO law that states companies have to disclose the full list of ingredients used OR use the INCI for ingredients 😢
This means that you might see “mild cleansing agent” rather than the exact name of a surfactant used. 😒 Not great if you want to know whether or not that surfactant has been known to cause toxic reactions to your dog.
When I searched for products to use on Monty, I found a lot out there that either didn’t give me the information I needed to be sure the product was safe, or simply listed ingredients that I would never use.
Monty’s Mate products have EVERY single ingredient listed on the label using their INCI names 😎 You’re welcome to do your own research, or ask me about anything you see there. I’m proud of the ingredients I use and they took a long time to research and find reputable suppliers.
Just because there isn’t a law about it, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t hold ourselves to higher standards and speak up for our loved ones.

So today we went to North... As attendees instead of traders 🥰
There were sooo many cool stalls there and gorgeous doggos everywhere. We'll certainly be back next year with a stall!
Of course, the only photos I actually got were at the and stall after we'd bought our swag from both. But who needs more photos when you've got these beauts?!
Now it's back in the kitchen to carry on with the restock 😁

I can go days without taking Monty for a walk. Or we can walk daily for a month.
When he does go on a walk, we can do anywhere between 3-7 miles or just a quick lap around the block.
I stopped the regular morning and evening walks a while ago when I began training more at home. Since then, I don't "have" to go on a walk every day.
The reasons we go on walks are for:
🐶 Fitness
🐶 Enjoyment
🐶 Social skills
🐶 Training
🐶 Spending quality time with each other
🐶 Toilet breaks (his, not mine 😂)
I love heading off into the hills but I do it when I want to and when it's suitable to do so - obviously not in this weather).
The rest of the time, I do things at home to provide all of the above for Monty. Most of the time that's in the form of little games that double up as training and life skill lessons.
The games can either be active or calming and we have a blast no matter what.
If you're struggling because you can't get out in the heat but your dog has lots of pent up energy, try engaging with them for 5-10 minutes to teach them something new, or rehearse something they already know how to do.
Do this a few times throughout the day and you'll soon see that you can wait out the heatwave without your dog acting out.
