If you’ve got a great foundation on your horse, everything just flows together. When you start working on those advanced exercises, your appreciation for a solid foundation increases tremendously. If you don’t have a good foundation on your horse, it makes your job twice as hard because you have to go back and fix things. You quickly realize that there is a reason for each exercise and each step of each exercise." - Professional Clinician Shayla Smock

New Trail book just released

WOW. Just WOW. My book made amazon's bestseller list! Not only is it #1 in the horse section it's #5 in the camping. I think this is pretty darn nifty! Thank you to everyone who has bought a copy! If you haven't seen it yet here's the skinny.
My book has been published! It’s called The ABCs of Trail Riding and Horse Camping – Essential Knowledge for Trail and Camp. It’s the culmination of more than two decades of trail riding and horse camping around the nation.
This book goes beyond the scope of traditional horse-riding texts. Totaling over 315 pages, it unwraps 178 field-tested tips to improve your next outdoor adventure. With clear descriptions organized alphabetically for quick reference, this guide shares fundamental information for every horse owner.

Let’s get riding

Hey North Dakota!

Are you interested in Downunder Horsemanship? Natural Horsemanship? Having a safe and respectful riding partner? Want to ride to with a like minded group? Me too! Let’s get started with ground work then do some riding...training on the trail...one rein stops... Fundamentals, Intermediate, or Advanced its all steps in the right direction.

I started following Clinton Anderson & Downunder Horsemanship in 2012. It was easy to understand, idiot proof, and it worked. My 20-something gelding Dude has been a great partner to start out with in the method. Buddy, my 6 yr old gelding, is a hot blooded horse. Just the opposite of Dude, it’s been a challenge to learn how to train the Dude way and the Buddy way. Who could ask for better teammates than to super sweet geldings?

How about you?
