Jennifer has loved exotic birds for many years. She worked in an exotic bird store in Miami, FL throughout high school (many moons ago!) raising exotic birds from finches to Macaws. She fell in love with birds of all
sizes and breeds. Fast forward to now, her and her husband Ken have acquired some wonderful pet birds of their own, and want to share with everyone how these loving, amazing animals make wonderful pets and companions. Follow us and share our page as Ken and Jenn have some exciting things coming up and share in their bird adventure with them!

Happy Saturday !
In the mornings we prep breakfast for our fids (feathered kids). As you can see they are very spoiled. However, a healthy diet and proper nutrition is key. Along with pellets, seeds and nuts they get fruits and veggies, with some grains mixed in. Today’s menu consists of zucchini, yellow squash, carrots, raspberries, blueberries, black berries, quinoa, romaine lettuce and sliced almonds. Love what you do and do what you love !

Breakfast is served. Fresh scrambled chicken eggs with the shell and veggies. Eggs provide birds with Calcium , Protein and vitamin A. And the shells provide an added boost of calcium. It’s important to feed your pet birds a healthy diet and variety of foods. (Although keep in mind foods to avoid like avocado, chocolate, coffee, apple seeds)

Love is in the air for these two. Meet our Quacker Parrots, Barney and Betty. Barney is a crossover yellow male and Betty is a Blue female. Excited to see what color babies they produce. Quaker Parrots make fun loving spunky pets. They are quite the chatterboxes ! As pets, they love attention and affection and make wonderful pets. They are curious birds with playful personalities. They really are the life of any household with their silly antics. They love to be with their humans. They have a lifespan of 20-30 years. So always keep this in mind when bringing one of these wonderful birds into your home. They are a commitment of many years. Stay tuned ……

Ok folks! Here we go! Ken worked hard building cages and these amazing breeder boxes. They are up and now let’s wait and see! Fingers crossed for Spring babies ! So much fun spending time in the barn with all the birds. We truly do love each and every one of them.

I’m so proud of the progress we have made with K&J Bird Barn. I’m so super proud of Ken Fitton and all his hard work building cages, and getting our Bird Barn ready. He has worked so many hours and days just building and creating this environment for our breeder birds. Each bird is special to us. And we want to ensure they have roomy environments. Each bird has their own personality and we care for each one and want them to live good lives. Hopefully soon we will have breeder boxes up and have babies.

We got Yoda about a month ago. He was hatched on May 4th, hence the name Yoda. Baby Yellow Naped Amazon. Incredible talker and entertaining pet. Learns quickly so watch we say. Lol. He will be a breeder , however for now he gets lots of mama love. ❤️💕

It’s important to include fruits and veggies in your pet birds diet daily for good nutrition. Our birds get a variety every day ! Mango of course supervises the preparation and performs quality inspections. 🥝🍍🍎🍊🫐🍓🍇🍒🥭🥝🫑🥕🌽

Meet our newest flock member ! Mrs. Pickles. Although she is only 8 weeks old. We will name her mate Mr. Wickles. Lol. Mrs. Pickles is such a sweetheart!! And look at that sweet little face 💕She is a White Winged Parakeet. These birds are known to be great pets and loving companions. Always playful. 💕🦜🥰. Great for folks who live in apartments or do not want a loud bird. Can even learn to say a few words too! Keep following us as one day down the road we will have babies !

Didn’t realize how much work would be involved in starting our breeding business, it’s been a week! We have had some big bumps along the way too. But we will overcome. Today we were able to pick up our Sun Conure we were awaiting DNA results for, hopeful it would be a mate for the baby Sun Conure we got 2 weeks ago and SCORE. The baby Sun Conure DNA came back a female last week and when we went to the place to see if there was any news on the second, it was a BOY!!! We have a pair of high yellow Sun Conures and are so excited. Although it will be over a year before we can even think about breeding and babies, just excited to have a pair. Look at these beauties !!! Finally some good news this week. It was a tough one. (Female is on my hand, male is on the perch).
