So it has been seven weeks since Klaus bloated with torsion. This is the first time since surgery he laid on his back and played with his niece Squishy.  i’m so happy he is recovering without complications.

5 days after surgery

Klaus had GVD 2/10/24 I discovered it early.Klaus had surgery within 12 hours of it occurring. 7 hours of which he was at the ER veterinarian waiting for diagnosis and the surgery team. The surgeon said that he never seen such a mild case in his 20+ years of doing the surgery. His spleen was not damaged. There was no stomach tissue damage and no damage to any other internal organs.
Knowing the signs of this condition is so important, it makes a real difference to whether or not your pet will survive, and how much damage can be prevented.

Klaus symptoms were restlessness, panting, rear legs trembling, not wanting to drink water His capillary refill of his gum was two seconds or more. He had tacky gums with sticky saliva and just looked uncomfortable. His abdomen was not distended, but it was tight between the rib cage and his bellybutton.

I got home at 4:00 pm and was at the ER at 4:30 by 5:15 I was talking to the Veterinarian about his condition and testing that needed to occur. At 10:00pm Klaus was having surgery. At 12:15 am he was awake and in recovery. Klaus was back home by 3pm on 2/12/24.

I’m so thankful I knew what the signs were and took immediate action it saved my boys life !

Klaus was used for grooming demonstration. It was only an hour long so he only got a half a haircut I’m gonna call it Hafadoodle style.

Klaus was groomed by Stephanie Stempfer. Great job Stephanie and Klaus. Thanks to Jennifer Bakker for breeding a beautiful litter of puppies. Klaus is a dream come true! Thanks to Blake Hernandez for preparing Klaus for months before this contest so Stephanie would have a poodle to compete with.

SuperZoo Squishy edition!
She was so good for the whole process. My baby girl is growing up!

Thank You to Macie Pisa for transforming a 9 month old fuzzy standard poodle into a beautifully groomed poodle.
Thank You Jennifer Bakker yet again for breeding a fabulous litter of puppies. And most of all for the privilege to have Squishy as my my baby girl.
