Ms Saphira went to the specialist Tuesday. They were unable to do the surgery due to her high white blood cell count. Then the CT scan revealed that she also had a liver shunt. To do the surgeries and follow up care for both is likely going to be over $10,000. The bill from yesterday was $1400. Any donations will be helpful

Ms. Saphira couldn’t have surgery today. Her white blood cell count was too high. They suspect it’s either residual pneumonia or another type of infection. She will be treated for that and go back in 1-2 weeks for the surgery. Please share and donate if you can.

Ms Billie Eyelash (panda) and LDs pug Palace Pluto (silver) are expecting! Billie had an ultrasound today and is indeed pregnant. It's too early to know how many pups she will have but she is due between March 26-April 2. We will get an X-ray on March 22nd to determine how many pups she is having.

Update: the previous link didn’t work. I’ve updated it!
When our clients couldn’t afford emergency care, we stepped in. We spent $5100 in ICU care in the vet hospitals. Now, Saphira will be having her consult and surgery on March 5th at https://www.animalsurgicalcenter.com/ in Flint, Mi. The estimate is upwards of $5500. Any help is greatly appreciated.

He needs a hospice foster.

It is with incredible sadness that I write this post 💔

Finn had his CT scan yesterday, and I was able to meet with the doctor afterwards to discuss the results. The CT scan confirmed his liver shunt, which we expected. However, it appears that he was born without the portal vein that should be going to his liver. So the shunt is what is keeping him alive. Surgery would likely not be successful and the doctor did not recommend that. Unfortunately, his prognosis is not good. The doctor believes that he will make it to approximately three to four years old. It could be more, it could be less. His quality of life right now is good, and he will be happy and loved for as long as his body will let him.

Finn is available as a “forever foster”. The rescue will continue to cover his medication, throughout his life. If you are interested in loving him and showing him the best that life has to offer for during the time he has, please send us a message.
