📣Announcement 📣

We are finally settling down and getting back into the swing of things, but not quite yet.

Firstly, the next year I will be dealing with personal family matters that have not (and probably will not) be announced on my kennel page; if you’ve seen on my personal page, please keep it to yourself or my personal page. This is for me and my families safety as people have been harassing me and I am fed up with it.

Secondly, this time next year we will be welcoming not 1, but 2 new breeding GSD prospects to our kennel program. The first will be a female from Ben Branch at LoneWolff K9 (who we have previously worked with on having pups from and absolutely adored both those girls). Sire is Jorik (IPO1, a/a hips, normal elbows and DM N/N; pictured sable). Dam is Jersey (IPO3, a/a hips, normal elbows & DM N/N; pictured bi color). The male will be coming from a friend. I am not currently sure which pairing she plans on doing but as soon as I know, I will post. Both male and female will be 1st generation import (Ben and my friend both import their breeding adults).

We have also FINALLY found a couple potential trainers for bitework who will not only help us pursue bite titles (pups will be evaluated and we will pursue what breeders and trainer’s recommend mutually) on the dogs. Pups will be health tested minimum at 2 years and so long as they pass they will be open for breeding around 2026-2027. If you are interested in a pup feel free to let me know.

Thirdly, Triton will be altered so long as everything goes according to plan by end of 2024. Our local vets are slammed with spay and neuter appointments so we are waiting on a call for when to bring him in for his alteration. He and Hex are both still looking for homes (they are welcome to stay here though should they not find any). Hex is 0️⃣ and Triton is 1️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ on a STRICT neuter (he will be 2️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ after neuter to help cover costs of neuter).

Lastly, I am also on the waitlist from another friend for *possibly* getting a golden retriever pup for service work for me. Cinderella is BEYOND ready to retire and is mostly. Getting this pup isn’t set in stone though. It’s still up in the air.

My friend Ben, Owner of Lone Wolff K9 (who bred T and T2) is having another litter. Sire is imported as well as Dam. Sire hips A/A (a-fast normal SV), Elbows Normal (SV) and is DM clear. Dam hips A/A (a-normal SV), elbows normal (SV) and DM Clear. Sire is IPO1 and Dam is IPO3. These pups would be best suited in working, sport and protection homes. Ben has had pups go into PD-K9’s and MWD’s. His dogs are solid, versatile and have strong, pushing bites. Feel free to send him a message. Located in St Louis Missouri area.

HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY TO THE DISNEY LITTER (AKA Burnt Chicken Nuggets).

Sadly we lost a pup at 3 days old to cleft and suspected underdevelopment of her GI track, but remaining 6 are all happy and healthy Last we heard. If you got a pup from this litter give them a big hug and kiss from us and an extra treat for their birthday!

Just because a dog is AKC registered, doesn’t mean it has a good pedigree.

Just because you don’t want to compete in dog sports doesn’t mean you don’t want to buy a dog from lines who have competed. Those letters next to a dogs name for generations prove trainability, intelligence and adaptability, as well as, health testing for the entirety of the dogs lineage. There’s a reason military and police departments acquire their working retrievers from hunt test and field trial pedigrees.

Just because someone selling puppies says they are “health checked,” doesn’t mean they have OFA tested hips and elbows, genetic panels etc. their vets opinion of the health of their dog means nothing when it comes to breeding mentally and physically sound dogs.

Well bred dogs cost more up front, you’re paying for all the time and energy put into the parents, more so than the puppy itself. But, it is typically a “buy once, cry once,” situation. Well bred dogs typically are more willing to train, have far less mental/behavior issues and will cost you far less for the duration of their life.

All 3 are chipped and UTD on combos and Rabies. All 3 took NexGuard within last 5 days. All 3 were just dewormed (2 GSD’s Friday-Sunday; GD started deworm Wednesday will finish Friday). We use ivermectin for deworming which also prevents heart worms.

Cheating the system. Most people buy 1 per dog. We buy one per 1-4 dogs and just cut up into halves and quarters. DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS OKAYED BY YOUR VET! We have clearance from all our vets to do this. But doing this voids NexGuards warrenty.

It’s $150 for 12 dogs (I have to buy another for Rumor when she comes home, she gets a whole tablet) Vs $300 going individually. That’s *if* we remember to preorder because no vet carry’s under 60.1-120 # on NexGuard. So it’s easier to just order the big box and cut up.

The 6 punks get 1/4 tablet
Diablo, Hex and Cinder get 1/2 tablet
Triton, Rumor and Cole get 1 tablet.

Rumor has been staying with a friend due to no fault of her own. I have been having medical issues for a few months now. Sadly my needs for a SD have changed, and I would no longer benefit from a Great Dane (hence why I’m getting the golden). Rumor is still suitable for service work. She is house and kennel trained. She walks well on a leash. She is UTD on shots and rabies. She comes home Monday and will be dewormed (as a precaution/prevention) Friday. I plan on getting her into the vet to have her 1 year boosters if I still have her come June. Rumor was born May 4, 2022, and is currently 10.5 months old (will be 11 months in 3 days). I haven’t sent in her papers yet but she is AKC. She will stay here until we can find her a suitable home. Transportation available within 1 hour of Hot Springs, AR. Transport can be arranged for anything past that. Pm us if interested in meeting Rumor.

ANNOUNCEMENT 📣

Many people have inquired about when we will have another litter of German Shepherds. Sadly we have had to tell people “We don’t know.” With Cinder being spayed, and the only daughter we kept being unsuitable for breeding due to medical issues (non-genetic per 4 veterinarians) and has been spayed. Triton will be neutered within 1 year if we still have him.

That being said, today we finally made the decision to add TWO new GSDs to the pack.

Firstly: we contacted two of our favorite dogs we owned Breeder. The original Teufel (Devil Wears Prada Aus dem Hölle, pic 1) and T2 (Devil Wears Prada vom CinderHaus, pic 2). Whereas T and T2 shared a sire, this new female will be completely unrelated to both Teufels’. The dam is SV hips a normal, elbows normal, DM clear, imported from Slovakia. Sire is SV hips a-fast normal, Elbows SV normal, DM clear, imported from Slovakia. Both are dark sables so our pup is expected to be sable. Looking early 2024 to late 2024 to be brought home.

Secondly: we are currently on the waitlist from another breeder with unrelated lines for a male. Due to the time frame in which we requested a pup, they have no determined pairings yet. But when they have them planned we will be able to pick from the pairings of where our new male will come from. This is sometime late 2024 to mid 2025.

So, with that being said it will be 4.5-5+ years before we have another German Shepherd litter. That is *if* both pups pass health testing. If not depending on the dog, we may use an outside stud (if she only passes) or have the option of studding out (if only he passes) but hopefully we will have the option of both (them both passing).

Names are still pending, and we have more than enough time to decide on what we will name them. The female we will have control of title and call name. The male will most likely come with a title name, we will have call name option.

Bath day for 3 out of the 4 dogs. Diablo is still with my landlord and I ran out of spoons to bathe him today. But I got 75% of the dogs done 😅.

Triton and Hex are still 👀4️⃣🏡. I would like to see them placed by end of August as I have a major life event happening beginning of September and it would be beneficial for them to be established in new homes by then. If not, they will still have a home here, just life will be WAY harder for me. I want all my dogs to thrive and I know it would be better for them to be placed prior.

Triton is a 3.5 year old (4 on April 19) solid black, currently intact, male AKC GSD. I would prefer he be on a neuter contract at placement but would consider a home where he is left intact to the right family. He is UTD on Rabies and Distemper, Parvo, Adenovirus1&2, & parainfluenza (3/18/23). Rabies is a 1 year. Triton stands about 25.5” at the withers and last weighed in at 72.3 pounds.

Hex is a 2.5 year old (3 on October 29) solid black, spayed female AKC GSD. Her papers are PENDING as I haven’t paid for them to be processed yet but are at AKC (just pending payment; this hasn’t been a priority as she was never of breeding quality). Hex is current on her Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, Adenovirus 1&2, and Parainfluenza vaccines (3/18/23). Rabies is a 1 year. Hex would be best suited in a home with no large, rambunctious dogs, as she is small (stunned) for a GSD. Hex stands about 18” at the withers and last weighed in at 28.8 pounds.

10 dogs transported and vaccinated between Da’s house and mine. Only dog not vaccinated is Cole but he’s not due til August. Little David transported the punks and I hauled my 4. Hexy got car sick twice (once there once back). Triton got into 10 pounds of candy while I filled out paperwork and got information sorted between households. And we get to do this all again next year.

All 10 got combos and Triton and Hex got a rabies (Hex expires this month, Triton expires this year).

Now to clean my truck and get the vomit out. 🤢

Re*****on Koko Pilcher “Re*****on” Triton x Koko Summer 2020 outside litter!

Funny story about how I found this girls family! I saw a gorgeous bi color pup for sale and wanted her. When I messaged her owner I saw we had a mutual friend. Turns out the pups grandpa is Triton from the Triton x Koko litter! Sadly due to personal reasons I wasn’t able to get the pup. ❤️

Coming soon to our pack!

Cinderella is beyond ready to retire. Everyday she shows me more and more that she wants to stop. I always feel so bad about working her and try to refrain unless absolutely necessary or she shows that she wants to go. It’s making life hard. Really hard. Friends have noticed that it’s making a big negative impact on my life. And as much as I’d like to get away from having a Service Dog, it’s just not an ideal situation. So, I’ve talked with a friend who plans to have a litter of Goldens and we’ve agreed that I’ll be bringing home a pup from then hopefully this fall! I’m beyond excited, and have big hopes for this pup. Name is still pending as I’d like a female but am open to a male dependent on what said friend thinks would make a more suitable prospect from their litter.

PSA: if you have an issue with me, say it to my face. Don’t hide behind a screen when you have me blocked everywhere else. I’m fed up with people hiding behind a screen and acting holier than thou. I will ban ANYONE who tries to start petty drama. Unless you have medical or legal evidence to back up claims then back off. My dogs are my world and their health and safety is my number one concern.

👀4️⃣🏡

Triton is a 3 yr old INTACT male AKC GSD. Genetically bicolor (at*a) solid black expressed. DM and MDR1 clear by embark. Proven. Loves ball. Does NOT do good with cats (he WILL unalive them). High prey drive, high ball drive, solid bite but no official bitework training. Potty trained and basics. Haven’t really done anything with him in the last year or so. He’s just been sitting outside mostly. He doesn’t do well in wire kennels, but an impact/ruffiand/gunner/plastics crate is fine. Off leash recall. Conditioned to an e collar. Walks well on a leash. Doesn’t do crowds or stores so wouldn’t make a suitable SD prospect.

With me being pregnant I’m downsizing to just Cinderella sadly.

23/11/2022

I hope everyone’s having a great week! It’s been a busy one here for us! I wanted to share this cartoon coming from a place of education.

Typically the term BYB (Back yard breeder) label encompasses any line that has no health testing or temperament testing or titles or show ratings on the parents, grandparents, or even the entire 5 generation pedigree. Those kinds of pedigrees are bred just to produce puppies without forethought into what it produces other than a pure bred dog. This is different than a well bred dog.

The BYB labeled dogs with 5 generations of nothing accomplished or proven, are often a melting pot of every line of GSD and the resulting dogs lose their refined look and type. They have the GSD general look but they’re off... poor structure, wide ear set, weak pasterns, poor pigmentation. The unrefined look of these dogs is usually a pretty easy give away to passionate GSD lovers that the dog comes from lines that were bred without purpose.

This doesn’t mean you can’t love your dog and think they are beautiful. But beautiful or not, if their pedigree is from poorly bred lines without any thoughtful pairings to make sure the dogs are healthy and correct, then you might end up with dogs with serious health or temperament issues.

German Shepherds are strong working dogs that have inherent genetic temperament that includes aggression and high drives. Breeding them should be done tactfully. They are not like a King Charles spaniel that makes a great pet for everyone. They are very strong and efforts must be made in every pairing to match appropriate temperaments to produce balanced temperament puppies that are easy to live with and train and work.

Pure bred doesn’t mean well bred!

EFFECTS OF EARLY SPAY/NEUTER IN DOGS

Neutering, and the age at which a dog is neutered, may affect the animal’s risk for developing certain cancers and joint diseases, according to a study of golden retrievers by a team of researchers at the University of California, Davis. The study, which examined the health records of 759 golden retrievers, found a surprising doubling of hip dysplasia among male dogs neutered before one year of age.

Neutering removes the male dog’s te**es and the female’s ovaries, interrupting the production of certain hormones that play key roles in important body processes such as the closure of bone growth plates.

The increased incidence of joint diseases among early-neutered dogs is likely a combination of the effect of neutering on the young dog’s growth plates as well as the increase in weight on the joints that is commonly seen in neutered dogs.

“The study results indicate that dog owners and service-dog trainers should carefully consider when to have their male or female dogs neutered,” said lead investigator Benjamin Hart.

Being sold without her papers as I haven’t paid for them yet so they aren’t in. She is good with dogs, cats and other animals as well as children. She is being sold as a pet due to her history with having seizures . She has been seizure free for about a year now. She has not been spayed yet so she isn’t quite ready to go but looking for a home for after. Pm for more info.

Cinder went to get spayed today. She did good. As we suspected her last breeding did take and produced 2 puppies. But due to her having complications her last pregnancy we chose to spay abort. She’s recovering well and the two pups were not viable at time of spay so they didn’t come home with us and we’re euthanized. This is the end of Cinderella’s breeding career at CinderHaus Kennels. She will retire from it and go to just being my personal SD and a beloved family member. Wish us a speedy recovery.
