Air New Zealand National Cargo has reviewed their Covid-19 policies and decided they will continue allowing only agents to drop-off pets for shipping, however anyone can collect at arrivals.

Cat's Cradle now offers drop-off in several ports around New Zealand and we can also book your flights.

Do you need to transport your pets across New Zealand?

We are registered pet shippers for both domestic and international flights. Contact us if you need help with booking domestic flights for your pets wherever you are in New Zealand.

For the international shipments we prefer to work with cat clients from Northland, as we can offer door to airport service, including MPI visit in Auckland prior to the flight to obtain all necessary export documents.

NORTHLAND CAT BREEDERS

If anyone needs help with shipping out of Northland or Wellington, whether it is domestic or international, feel free to contact us for a quote.

We offer contactless collection from the door in Northland to ship your pets overseas, and this includes an approved vet or MPI vet export check and export permit. Animal exports are a permitted activity and we are registered with MPI as an animal exporter.

We just received this update from Air New Zealand Cargo.

Cat’s Cradle has never accepted poor quality crates as we have had bad experiences using them just for local transports. We continue to recommend PP20 and PP30 carriers, and for anyone in the Far North we are happy to supply them.

Air New Zealand National Cargo has informed us yesterday that they will continue accepting pets for shipping only from registered agents due to security reasons. Public can still collect pets at arrivals as long as we are not in lockdown.

We are happy to help you with your Air New Zealand pet travel booking and finding an agent to take your pet to Air New Zealand counter.

Cat's Cradle agents can now take your pets to Kerikeri airport, Wellington, Tauranga and Rotorua. We also offer service of picking up your small pet in Kaitaia to ship from Kerikeri airport.

Cat's Cradle have scheduled international shipments on 23rd and 24th of June out of Auckland. We offer international shipment only once a month - please contact us for more information and allow plenty of time as international travel is very limited at the moment and you need to fulfill the requirements of the country you are exporting to. Our service includes pick up of your pet anywhere in Northland, from Kaitaia to Auckland, export vet exam, export paperwork and booking of the flight.

With the country back at level 1, we can now have cats picked up by clients so this reduces the cost of flying. Unfortunately only agents can check the cats in for the flight with Air New Zealand so there is still extra costs for this.

From tomorrow (25th May 2020), Air New Zealand will allow members of public to collect pets from REGIONAL airports. This does not include Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch - they still require an agent to collect pets shipped as cargo. This means that flights to regional airports will be a little cheaper from tomorrow.

We are currently accepting bookings for cats that need transport within the North Island.

We have limited space available from Northland to Wellington in June so please contact us soon if you need help with transporting your kittens or cats. We will travel along HWY1 and can collect and drop off anywhere close to the highway. Small detours may be possible if you contact us early.

We transported four most adorable Toygers from Marton to Auckland and Ruakaka. What beautiful cats! I have seen them at shows but this is the first time I saw them in person. Six fur babies were safely delivered to their families yesterday Elsa was our last drop off yesterday. After a good rest we are continuing to Wellington to drop off our last two passengers.

We will be leaving Wellington for Northland on HWY1 on Sunday. We still have some space available - both in our large dog crates or for your own crate.

Cat’s Cradle offers domestic flight bookings for your pets!

Once the flights go back to normal and we no longer need to use agents for drop offs and collections, we will be happy to offer our usual discounted rates for breeders. We are very sorry we cannot offer that discount at the moment - booking has become very complicated and time consuming and there are no guarantees they will be confirmed.

Breeders in Northland, specially Far North, needing help with exports overseas, contact us for a quote to help with transport of your cat to Auckland, MPI export vet check and export permit and booking of your overseas flight. Due to our location, it is not cost effective for us to book for people out of region so please contact other international shippers.
