Tamarack, an orphaned bear cub, was rescued from a wildfire zone in Northern California last year after his paws were scorched in the flames. He was being treated for his injuries at a wildlife rehabilitation center when he surprised his rescuers by escaping back into the wild. Fortunately, Tamarack...

EAT & FEED BLUEBERRIES!

In a study conducted on sled dogs, blueberry supplementation elicited significantly elevated antioxidant status in the dogs.

This suggests that dogs fed blueberries should be better protected against oxidative damage. -

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16520073

Aside from being classified as antiangiogenic aka anti-cancer, blueberries contain a compound called pterostilbene, a derivative of resveratrol.

These little blue powerhouses are good antioxidants because they contain phenolics that preferentially react with free radicals.

So, offering your furry companion blueberries can help protect them against cancer!

Are you feeding your dog too often? ⏰🍗⏰🥩⏰🥕🐶

Dogs fed once a day are less likely to be diagnosed with age-related conditions than pooches fed more often, study claims.

In the largest largest study to date of feeding frequency conducted in companion dogs, University of Arizona-led experts analyzed data on 24,238 pet dogs from the US and found:

• Being fed once a day lowered the risk of nine types of canine health problems
• These included cancer, dental issues and either kidney or urinary complications
• Similarly, dogs fed only once daily scored lower on tests of cognitive problems
• But the team said it is too early to advise owners to change their pet's diets

“We view these results as an exciting first step of an ongoing exploration of the impact of diet on companion dogs living in human environments. Given the intense interest in, and popularization of, ‘longevity diets’ such as intermittent fasting and time-restricted feeding, these types of studies in dogs are both timely and important. We believe these studies will ultimately offer insights into factors that promote health and longevity for both dogs and humans.” - The Dog Aging Project

The scientists and researchers we interviewed for The Forever Dog book agreed that one meal a day for healthy dogs is ideal, in terms of maximizing autophagy and minimizing metabolic stress.

To learn how to transition your pup to a new eating schedule and create an eating window (which allows your pup to receive the benefits of intermittent fasting while offering the same amount of food) check out the section in our book “Personalized Meals as Medicine” found here: www.foreverdog.com

ARE LAUNDRY CHEMICALS AFFECTING YOUR PETS’ SKIN & HEALTH?

If you wash your pet blankets and beds using popular fabric softeners and dryer sheets, that “just washed” fresh smell comes from chemicals called Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) that can negatively impact your pets’ health (coughing, rashy, itchy pets, anyone?).

Dr. Anne Steinmann’s UW-Seattle research team found more than 25 VOCs emitted from dryer vents using these products, including well-known respiratory irritants like Acetone, Formaldehyde, Acetaldehyde, but also Pentane (which causes skin rashes and upset stomach), Ethyl Acetate (on the EPA’s Hazardous Waste list; causes anemia, changes in white blood cells and can damage the liver and kidneys), Benzyl Acetate (can be absorbed through the skin and is linked to pancreas problems) and Alpha-terpineol (causes headaches and nervous system disorders).

Our pets can do without having to breathe in these chemical residues or having to lay on them, so here’s our Forever Dog Tip of the day: replace chemical-laden fabric softeners with a non-toxic DIY option!

Recipe: Mix 6 cups white vinegar with 1 cup baking soda, let it fizz. When the fizz stops, pour mixture into a large glass container with a lid. Use 1 cup per load of laundry.

We highlight all of the of home chemical risks that can negatively impact your dog’s health in the The Forever Dog book, available now for pre-order by clicking here: https://foreverdog.com/about/ -window

SPECIAL ONLINE ANIMAL COMMUNICATION WORKSHOP SATURDAY 24 JULY! 🐶 🐴 😸 💜
I was talking to Tasi the other day (he is the handsome beach dog aka Island Farm Pup from Hawai’i in the photo) and he kept mentioning a shell. In fact, it was just about the first thing that he mentioned during our chat. I was a bit puzzled about that. So, I asked Mayu, his mom – she is also in the photo. 😉
A VERY interesting story emerged. It had to do with the name of the shell, a meeting in a mattress shop the previous day and Tasi’s pride in belonging to his family. Animals just tell the greatest stories! Other times they just give you hints, and you have to puzzle it out…
If you’d love to hear Tasi’s shell story – and find out how to communicate with the lovely dog, cat, horse or other animal in your life – Mayu and I will be presenting an animal communication workshop 😸 🐴 🐶 on Saturday 24 July at 9am Hawai’i Time/noon Pacific/8pm BST/9pm Central European Time and Central African Time (i.e. 9pm Johannesburg/SA time).
If you can’t make the time, register anyway and we’ll send you the link for the recording afterwards. 👌
We will draw two doggie winners and I will chat with them live during the workshop!
$20 donation. Here is the registration link: https://www.paradisehealingfarms.com/shop/p/animal-communication-workshop
Hope to see you there! 💜🐶😸🐴
PS. By the way, Tasi is so cool, he even has his own Instagram account. You can check him out here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CRDJ9QGphg_/

Struggling with an active dog who barks boisterously during that important Zoom call – and you can’t stay on mute all the time? 🤫
Or your dog is so busy and asking for attention that you can’t focus on your work? 🐕‍🦺
Would you like to have a happy, relaxed dog who takes a quiet snooze while you’re working?
Get your free PDF, “5 Magic Ideas to Improve Your Dog’s Happiness Now!” It gives you 5 simple, innovative and proven methods to help your dog be calm and relaxed.
It is easy to do and will take very little time out of your day. Then you won’t have to shout at your dog (which nobody likes to do anyway), get worked up or get drowned out with barking during your online calls. 😊
I used to feel SO guilty when my puppies looked at me with their large, loving puppy eyes, begging me to come and play with them. But I couldn’t, because I had work to do.
I just had to find quick and easy ways to give them an outlet for their energy, to stimulate them mentally and to make their hearts happy, because I couldn’t stand it if they looked sad or disappointed. My frustration mounted when my little Yorkie girl chewed on my glasses. It is quite a challenge to concentrate on my computer screen while trying to stare through a bunch of bite marks! 👓
Through lots of research and also playful creativity, I found amazing (and some unusual) ideas that magically improved their happiness. 🐕
Now I spend a bit of focused time with my doggies, applying these magic ideas, and they are relaxed throughout the day, giving me guilt-free time to work or do my own thing.

Strictly speaking, nobody has ever "healed" anyone, ever.

A true "healer" simply remains present. She provides a safe Field in which unfamiliar and intense energies can be felt and move to completion, bound-up and unconscious emotions can be released into the warm light of Awareness.

In such a Field, we can come out of time, together, out of the drama of thought and the chaos of My Life, and we can breathe into our aching bodies, taste the simplicity of a brand new moment on Earth, fall into our own cosmic power.

Healing is not a destination, then, nor a special ability in the hands of a gifted few, it is a surrender into That which is already healed, already whole, beyond the healer and the healed - our true nature, the Oneness of all life, the sheer rightness at the core of things.

Healing is never far away, for the Field is never far away; it has lived in your very own Heart, ever since you were a child.
