This morning we celebrated summer solstice with the most popular mantrailing breed here at Lead & Follow - the collie! (There’s actually quite a few, but not everyone could make it!) This is our second annual event to celebrate… Colstice!

A hot forecast meant we kicked off our event at 7:30am to take advantage of the cooler hours.

What a fun morning. So much learning, progress and collie fabulousness. Footage to follow soon, but in the meantime - here’s our Fab Four teams after a triumphant morning of trailing!

Well done everyone! 🐾👏🏼⭐️

Last weekend showing the new dogs the ropes in Stockport were Team Cece & Team Luna.

A sunny morning made for a busy park with sooo many distractions, which the dogs navigated expertly well ☺️

Some of the junctions were challenging but when the dogs need help, teamwork is the name of the game.

Fabulous morning trailing at a beautiful park. Well done teams!! 💪🏻⭐️🐾

Last week we had a mid-week evening urban trail to cool us all down.

I love evening sessions this time of year. It’s cooler, and it tends to be a challenging environment.

This is a great venue because we have plenty of space to use the park and the pedestrianised town centre.

Teams Molly, Osian, Toby and Nanty did a fine job of figuring out where the scent was despite the tricky wind, the “merry” bar visitors saying hi, and the multiple eateries that smelled amazing!

Well done to all the teams!

This cheeky little chappy is Oscar ☺️

He started training with me recently to help with calmer walks because he gets very excitable and starts jumping and climbing up his mum’s leg on walks!

He’s already started making progress, walking on a loose lead and the jumping up is much improved. What a good boy!

On Saturday lovely Lenni completed his Introduction to Mantrailing. A Greek Harehound, his genetics are built for hunting by scent - he was born to trail and you could tell 😊 He only found his forever home a few weeks ago and this will be a great way to grow what is already a lovely bond with his dad. I can’t wait to see him progress 😊

Well done team Lenni!

Yesterday we welcomed Kain to Mantrailing. This handsome chap is already very sniffy, so he took to it really quickly. He can be quite excited to greet other dogs and people, a real friendly soul. It was great to see him pick things up so quickly and focus on the task at hand.

I’m looking forward to seeing this guy thrive! Well done Team Kain! 💪🏻🐾

Last weekend we celebrated International Donut Day on our Triple Trailer themed around Walking Trail Layers!
This can be tough. Our dogs can get so used to trail layers standing behind a tree, crouching behind a bush, sitting on a wall… for them to be on the move is tough for them to get their head round. But we know they’re super clever and Teams Tessa, Romeo and Bailey did soooo well. Yes it was challenging but that’s where we learn! And it was amazing to see them figure it out and indicate on moving trail layers!

Well done teams! And maybe we should have donuts every week 🤔😂
