Last weekend we had our second Cops & Robbers Triple Trailer with a focus on vehicle starts and walking trail layers (mimicking police dog duty!). As if that wasn’t hard enough, some of the dogs had to find people hiding in trees! (Footage of that to follow!)

Such a fun morning, lots of challenges and learning, with all 5 dogs and handlers doing an amazing job. Well done Teams Olive, Scout, Luna, Roscoe & Ghost! 👮🚔🐾

Ever wonder what real dog training looks like?

It’s not just about the sit, stay, and recall… it’s about leaving them happily tired in both body and brain.

Training complete ✔ Battery low ⬇ (and yes, the snoring is included free of charge 😴🐶).”

Okay we need votes - who snores louder, dogs or humans? 😂👇

Who is up for a bit of fun?! And the chance of a prize…

It’s National Poetry Day so I’ve posted a short poem about mantrailing. Because why not?!

Think you can beat that?! Post your effort in the comments if you dare! Doesn’t have to be about mantrailing, just about dogs. Your dog, dogs in general, scent work, mantrailing, parkour, tricks, walks… whatever you can find to rhyme. Minimum 4 lines.

Go! Prize for the most inventive. Share this with anyone who has a dog and likes a bit of fun!

It’s National Black Dog Day! If you’ve ever tried to take a photo of a black dog, you’ll know the struggle is real. But on a serious note, being difficult to photograph and some old fashioned superstitions mean black dogs tend to get overlooked at rescues. (How ridiculous and unfair is that?!)

Not the case for the Fab Four in the photo! They were lucky enough to be chosen by lovely humans and each of them share a beautiful bond with their families.

Give them a like or a love to show your appreciation on their special day!

People often say their dog can tell when they’re ill and get extra affectionate, clingy, attentive…

Third day back at work today after our holiday and I was recovering from a migraine and not feeling my best, but I had 3 clients and of course Xena.

Xena does always seem to know when I’m ill. She gets clingy - she’s even lying on me now while I type. She was also a star on her walk today, and the chilled walk helped.

Meanwhile my clients’ dogs seemed to know too. Bruno was super affectionate when I arrived and was happy to cuddle instead of get straight into training. Jax was the king of training, super chilled and focussed, almost trying harder than usual. And Bella, well Bella seemed to think a full-on kiss on the lips would make me feel better 🤦🏻‍♀️(it didn’t but I appreciated the gesture) 😂

Needless to say, they all made me smile, and I’ve had a fab day with the dogs, even though I wasn’t feeling my best.

What about your dog? Do they know when you’re ill? Do you notice them more affectionate or could they literally not care less?! Drop me a heart emoji in the comments if your dog helps when you’re not feeling 100% ( and an angry face if they make you feel worse!)

Showing newbie Koda the ropes recently were Rodney, Osian and second timer Zar.

Zar was showing fab progress since his Introduction only a few days before. Rodney had to work through high distractions - kids on scooters and skateboards - his absolute nemesis, but he recovered fast and got straight back into it 👏🏼
And Osian was super focussed, displaying possibly his best trailing to date, even with a car start thrown in.

Fabulous work teams! 👏🏼⭐️🐾
