Finally able to get a picture of our newest addition at Honey Ridge. Penny is such a good mommy but we haven’t named this little one yet. We don’t know if we have another male or female but either way, he/she is beautiful!

Sweet Pea, one of our twins born at the end of July is doing well, although she is still being bottle fed. Her sister, Princess Sparkles (can you tell which one Grace named?) is also doing well.

These are two of our three new babies on the farm. Unfortunately, Gypsy, the mother of our twin girls, abandoned one calf; so Sweet Pea is now being raised as a bottle baby. She’s just as sweet as can be! Here’s Ghostrider and Princess Sparkles (the kids picked their names) enjoying the early morning sun today!

NEW BABIES 😍😍😍😍 we always get excited when our animals have babies (can you tell? 😂) but our sweet Sissy had 9 babies Tuesday!! That’s the largest litter of piglets we’ve had so far! 🐷🐷

I want to thank each and every one of you for joining our family on the farming adventure we’ve taken on!! I’m sorry we haven’t updated in a while; but to be honest, it’s been hectic and we’ve had a run of bad luck lately.

Our sweet Petunia, our pet pig and animal that started this whole adventure, passed away. She has been sorely missed and will never be forgotten!

Then one morning, a fire started in our shop and 124 of the 125 baby chicks we had just ordered passed away. One baby has survived, Grace has claimed it as her pet chicken, and named it Miracle. Luckily, the fire caused the fan to turn off which prevented it from spreading throughout the entire shop.

Most recently (and hopefully lastly), one of our bee hives swarmed. This happens when bees are no longer loyal to the queen (for whatever reason) and decide to leave and start their own colony. We believe it was a true split, meaning the hive got too big and divided into two. This would typically be a good thing (free third hive), but the swarm left before we could catch them.

I write all of this to say, it’s not always easy on the farm. We never have days off as there’s always work to do. We have big plans for Honey Ridge, including adding goats to our family, and eventually selling whole chickens, half/whole cows.
