My newest additions! These are California Newts 🥰 I believe 3 to be female, though one may be a juvenile male, and one is definitely a male! Super excited about bringing these kiddos into the family. I have big plans for a naturalistic streambed setup in a 55 gal I have sitting around.

PSA: these amazing animals secrete a tetrodotoxin that is 10 times more potent that cyanide, and have been linked to group deaths of hikers and hunting parties due to one finding its way into their water supply. Thus: they should get less handling than normal amphibians, and you should NOT LICK THE NEWTS. There are also fascinating studies regarding a genetic arms race between these guys and garter snakes, which are one of this species' only natural predators!

Hello, I am one of the Elysium Herps duo! Thanks so much for checking out our page. I figured I'd make an intro post to send out my interests. I have a strong passion for pythons, especially Ball Pythons and Woma Pythons. My favorite boa is my Colombian Rainbow Boas. I hope to add to the community by producing quality ball pythons, western hognoses, Colombian rainbow boas, and possibly crested geckos! Casey and I are working on a joint project in the future to produce some Solomon Island Ground Boas.
