Other Names: natural bobtail trait, T locus
Affected Genes: T
Inheritance: Autosomal Dominant
Mutation: chr1:54192143 (canFam3): C>G
Breed(s): All Breeds
Testing Summary
The T Locus (Natural bobtail) trait test reliably determines if a dog has one of the following genotypes at the T locus:
T/T
This dog carries two copies of the dominant T Allele which is lethal causing pups to die In Utero.
Interpretation: Embryonic lethal
t/T
This dog carries one copy of the dominant T allele and one copy of the recessive t allele which produces a natural bobtail. This dog will pass on the T allele to 50% of its offspring and the t allele to 50% of its offspring.
Interpretation: Bobtail
t/t
This dog carries two copies of the recessive t allele which results in a tail of normal length (no bobtail). This dog will pass on the t allele to 100% of its offspring.
Interpretation: Normal tail
Detailed Summary
The T Locus (Natural bobtail) impacts the length of the tail in many breeds of dog. A DNA variant in the T gene, an important gene during early embryogenesis, disrupts the development of the dog’s tail and can result in a congenitally short (bobtail) or completely absent tail. The natural bobtail variant is inherited in an Autosomal Dominant fashion meaning only one copy of the T gene variant is required to produce a natural bobtail. However, inheriting two copies of T is not compatible with life causing pups to die In Utero. Therefore, breeding two dogs with natural bobtails (T/t) may result in reduced litter sizes.
Testing Tips
Genetic testing of the T gene will reliably determine whether or not a dog is a genetic Carrier of the variant that produces a natural bobtail or if the tail has been docked. Breeding two dogs with natural bobtails will result in slightly reduced liter-sizes because about 25% of the puppies will inherit two copies of the T Allele and will die In Utero. However, about two-thirds of the surviving litter will be Heterozygous T/t have natural bobtails and one-third of the liter will be Homozygous t/t and have normal length tails.

What is a Nala and what is a Pekachi?
This is my Nala and she is a Pekachi.

Pekachi, Pee-Chi, Pekachu, Pikachu The Cheeks is a designer dog, an intentional cross between two ancient companion dogs from different continents, the Chihuahua of Mexico and the Pekingese dog from China. The cross between these two breed results in a loyal and affectionate companion that is easy to maintain and doesn’t require a lot of room. They are fairly quiet dogs and just a few short walks a day are needed to keep them happy and healthy, which makes them an ideal pet for people with limited mobility or people living in small apartments. They may not be the ideal pet for people who are looking for a running buddy or for those with very small children.

Cheeks Breed Appearance Both of the breeds that were combined to make this dog stand less than a foot tall and typically weigh about the same as a honeydew melon. The Cheeks, therefore, is a very small dog, generally under a foot tall and usually less than ten pounds in weight. They may inherit the more dome like head of the Chihuahua or the flat broad skull of the Peke, and their muzzle will be short, but it could be either broad like the Pekingese or narrower and tapered like the Chihuahua. This hybrid has dark, round eyes that are prominent but not bulging, and ears that will be positioned high on the head, although they may be either heart-shaped or triangular and may stand up away from the head or they may fold to the front or sides. Although single layer coats may happen on occasion, this hybrid usually has a double layer coat with a dense undercoat covered by longer stronger fur which may be either coarse or soft depending on which parent breed they most resemble. Many Cheeks will have feathering around their ears, feet, and tail.
Nala stays trimmed and beautiful. ❤

6-Way Protection
For subcutaneous vaccination of healthy dogs 6 weeks of age or older as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus Type 2 (CAV-2), Canine Coronavirus, Canine Parainfluenza and Canine Parvovirus Type 2b.
For use in Dogs and Puppies over 6 weeks of age.

Benefits
Contains Parvovirus for rapid immunity and cross protection against all recognized field strains
High titer, low passage parvo fraction - High vaccine titers have been shown to overcome low-level maternal antibody interference in puppies
Corona for added peace-of-mind
Meets or exceeds all USDA Standards
Convenient choice of IM or SC administration
Ideal first shot for puppies - No Lepto fractions.

Important Note
Before injecting vaccine, pull back slightly on syringe plunger. If blood enters the syringe freely, choose another injection site. A recommended vaccination schedule should start at or about 6 weeks of age. The presence of maternal antibody is known to interfere with the development of active immunity. Puppies should be revaccinated every 2 to 3 weeks until at least 16 weeks of age. All dogs over 12 weeks of age should initially receive one dose of Spectra® 6 and a second dose 2 to 3 weeks later. Annual revaccination with a single dose is recommended.

My Grand-daughter brought Princeton to me. He was suppose to be a CHUG. Love at first sight; but, ended up not being a small 20 pound dog.
Princeton was re-homed where his new family have access to a beach where he is free to run and run as long as he wishes.
Princeton is 1 year old now and weighs over 55 pounds.

The Designer mutt mix is a healthy dog breed. Most cross-bred dogs don’t suffer from any congenital conditions. It’s usually the case with purebred dogs owing to the vast gene pool.

NATURAL TREATMENTS FOR RINGWORM
1. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has antifungal effects. Use organic, unfiltered ACV. Soak a cotton ball with the undiluted ACV and apply it topically to the affected area. Repeat up to 3 times daily
2. OIL OF OREGANO
Oil of oregano is popular for bacterial infections … especially staph infections. But it also has antifungal properties and can help with ringworm.
Always dilute oil of oregano, using 1-3 drops of oil of oregano per teaspoon of olive or coconut oil. Apply it 3 to 4 times a day to the affected area.
3. LEMONGRASS ESSENTIAL OIL
Lemongrass essential oil can help heal the ringworm wounds. And it can stop them from spreading.
Use 3 drops of the oil diluted in 1 teaspoon of carrier oil like almond oil. Rub it 3 to 4 times a day on the affected area.
4. NEEM OIL
Neem oil comes from the neem tree in India, and has many medicinal uses. It’s antifungal properties can help with ringworm.
Add 5 drops of neem oil to 1 tsp jojoba oil in a glass jar. Shake well and apply three times a day to the affected areas.
5. GARLIC
Garlic’s an amazing food that has so many uses for dogs. Feeding your dog garlic can be helpful for ringworm … but you can also use it on the skin.
Slice a clove of garlic in half. Let it sit a few minutes to release the allicin (the main medicinal property in garlic). Then rub the cut side onto the ringworm patches on your dog’s skin. Do this 3 times a day, using a fresh clove of garlic each time.
If you want to feed fresh garlic as well, chop it up and let it sit for 15 minutes before feeding. Give these daily amounts:
Small dogs ¼ clove
Medium dogs ½ clove
Large dogs ¾ clove
Giant dogs 1 clove

Ringworm is very contagious. You’ll need to take measures to protect yourself, your family and other pets.
Keep your house very clean.
Vacuum often to get rid of dog hairs or skin particles lying around your house Be sure to remove all traces of dog hair.
Wash down any hard surfaces with a natural disinfectant. White vinegar with high acetic acid concentration is a good option.
Keep your dog (the one with ringworm!) restricted to parts of the house that are the easiest to clean.
That will usually be rooms with hard floors rather than carpet. Hairs from the dog can get embedded deep in the carpet. They can be tough to remove even with a vacuum. You don’t want that contagious debris hanging around in your house.
You’ll want to keep your dog off your sofa or bed until the ringworm has cleared up!

I like fresh cooked meals, so I make them some too.

The best food is the food that you lovingly make for your FURBABY.
Making that food needs to be nutritional and offer your little dog everything that is needed for healthy bones, skin, hair, and body.
It is also important that you get the right amount of calories, carbs, fat, fiber and proteins, along with all the vitamins required for staying healthy.

There are also some ingredients that you SHOULD NEVER USE when make dog food at home. Stay away from NO BACON, HAM, ONION, GARLIC, SUGAR, TOMATOES, GRAPES, CHOCOLATE, MOST DAIRY PRODUCTS, FAKE SUGAR SWEETENERS. Since the only dairy product dogs should consume is plain yogurt, you’ll need to give your dog a calcium supplement as it is an important part of their diet.

When you remove the food from the refrigerator or from the freezer, heat the food to warm. It will take 15 seconds in the microwave or warm the container in a bowl or pan of hot water until it is warm.

TRAINING:

This kind of a dog hybrid, the Chihuahua - Pekingese - Daushaund - pug mix is brilliant. The dog responds to training in a better way. To make sure that the dog goes through training very well, training methods that are grounded on positive reinforcement should be practiced.
Consistent, loving care in the training will give awesome results.

"Dawn erodes or breaks down the outer flea exoskeleton or shell, as well as flea eggs' shells. Lather them up with heavy amounts of Dawn and leave it on for about 5 minutes, and you will see them wash off. I wouldn't do it more than once a week, as the Dawn dries out all the oils too."

I also use the ORIGINAL SKIN SO SOFT.

INDUCE VOMITING FOR DOGS

Another unfortunate fact of life for many dog owners is that they will, inevitably, eat things that could seriously hurt them. If your pup has swallowed something that could be toxic — such as an entire pack of sugar-free gum, — you can use hydrogen peroxide to make them throw up. You don’t need to give them much at all to do the trick and it works pretty quickly but always call your veterinarian before trying this.
Banfield Pet Hospital recommends carrying hydrogen peroxide in a pet first-aid kit in your car for this exact reason.

GET SKUNK OFF YOUR PET
Anyone who has a pet that spends a lot of time outside knows that skunks are simply a nasty fact of life. When your dog or cat gets sprayed by one of these striped creatures, hydrogen peroxide can help knock out that awful odor. According to Banfield Pet Hospital, you can make a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dish soap to quickly wash your pet with if you’re unable to get ahold of a store-bought skunk-fighting shampoo.

Nala seems to be a bit spoiled right now and has decided she likes this new diet while she is pregnant, better than the dog food she has always eaten.
Last night she had chicken and rice meatballs with canned peas.
Tonight she had a fat chicken thigh (meat removed) with sweet potatoes and carrots.

I train my puppies Jasper and Chase to sleep in their own bed. They are kenneled by 9 o'clock at night and all their feedings are finished by 7 PM. So far one accident from our 8 week old puppies. I wake at 4 AM, feed them, potty them and they go back to their kennel until 6 AM. It has worked great for us. They cry when they have to p**p and I take them out. They are good at using the puppy pads if I am not moving fast enough for the door.
