Please take a few minutes to write an email to support our friends at Mountain View Polo. Their entire farm is at risk due to a proposed transmission line to connect to northern VA data centers. They are the only polo club in West Virginia and some of our own Rebellis ponies come from them. See their post for a sample email you can use.
We rarely ask you for help, but we are desperately in need of everyone to take 5 minutes TODAY or tomorrow to send a public comment via email to:
[email protected]
We need you to make a statement to strongly oppose the proposed Valley North transmission line that will terminate Mountain View Polo forever and state how that affects you personally. You can copy and paste the example email below.
DEADLINE IS AUG 14th this FRIDAY. Please send it now.
The more emails they receive about Mountain View Polo, the more likely they will move the line somewhere else. You may copy and paste what I prepared below, but please add a personal note at the end on how the closing of Mountain View Polo will adversely affect you.
EXAMPLE EMAIL:
I strongly opposed the Valley North transmission line proposed to cross the entire Mountain View Polo Club facility on Falcon Ridge Dr. in Charles Town, WV.
The proposed transmission line will decimate the polo club facilities and terminate the business.
The transmission lines will:

2) Negatively impact the local economy, because Mountain View Polo will no longer rely on the local services of excavation companies, hay dealers, farriers, veterinarians, mechanics, and feed stores.
3) Negatively impact tourism because Mountain View Polo will no longer draw out-of-state polo players into their club membership, practices, and tournaments.
4) Deface the entire Shenandoah River Valley viewshed of Jefferson County with its line of nearly 200' tall towers along the entire ridge that Mountain View Polo rests on- making these towers the first and most prominent feature of Jefferson County that everyone will see as they enter WV from Route 9 and Route 115 from VA.
5) Draw negative press and gain significant opposition to Valley Link for Valley Link's complete disregard of local businesses, residents, tourism, and local economies in its quest to privately line its own pockets by connecting to data centers in northern VA.
The transmission lines personally affect me by the forced closure of Mountain View Polo because ...
