We have been grooming and boarding in home since we bought our house in 2001.We are proud to say that we have worked very hard since 2006 to build our facility -our dog chalet , grooming salon and 5 different play areas! Our clientele has started and continues to operate by word of mouth and referral.Thanks to our loyal clients and other dog busnesswho have been very supportive and helped us to ma

intain a personalized clientele and a crew dogs who benefit from being with one anouther.At busy times such as March break and long weekends a lot of the dogs already know one anouther so we joke that it is much like Cheers without the beer!! We are able to cater to many different ages and breeds. For the young dogs there is lots of activity and many great players! For our more relaxed crew we have decks for lounging. For our seniors we have ramps to all our play areas and throughout our facility and indoor lounging areas! Some of our dogs require medications,insulins or vet visits and treatment. For all dogs staying we do ask that you make your veterinarian aware that your dog will be staying with us so that we can easily have information faxed in to our local vet .Some hang out with us all day and others spend there time playing themselves out with friends! Everyone is treated individual depending on there needs. All dogs are asked to bring there own food as they are more likely to eat there own diet and less likely to develop allergies or hot spots from food change! We ask that whatever your dog is used to at home please feel free to send. Also please send extra as we do lunch for the dogs as there is a lot of activity even for our old guys who are lounging it gives everyone a quiet hour of down time.We have a fridge and deep freeze for raw and cooked diets. Please do not send treats or food that your dog is not accustomed to as it is never a treat to be away when you have diahria! We do provide all natural treats,carrots and apples. If your dog has a special diet feel free to send your own. We have plenty bowls , toys and a variety of beds to accommodate all of our visitors.Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8am - 6 pm but closed 11am-1pm for lunch. Saturday & Sunday 10am - 2pm .But closed 12-1 for lunch.Sunday summer hours are 10-5. we do close daily for lunch for the dogs.We do operate by Appointment Only as our time is best spent with the dogs staying with us. It helps us to maintain quality and care and reduce your wait times! Please be aware that we do not do pick ups or drop offs before or after hours. We also offer grooming for those who need to be spiffed up before returning home.We have daycare for a select few. Also we have a transport service Monday- Friday from halifax.

True that!This is a great post from Waternymp Spaniels. I can’t share so I’ve copy pasted.

Dogs are dogs. They're not fur babies. They're not children. They're dogs.

That doesn't mean I don't love my dogs. It doesn't mean you can't call them your "kids" or "fur children." But for their sake, respect that they are dogs. Treat them well, but treat them as they should be.

People humanizing dogs is actually what's getting a lot of them put down, rehomed, dumped, and loaded with behavioral issues.

The best way to honor and love your dog is to respect the fact that they are different from us. That's part of what makes them so amazing!!

Bringing home a new dog and giving it whatever it wants, whenever it wants, is not setting them up for success. It may feel good to "spoil" them. I get it, but what you're actually doing is creating a brat.

I hear this often: "My dog bit our friend on the couch because he thinks the couch is his." OK, who let them think that? The dog didn't just waltz in and claim your couch. The dog wasn't given boundaries to begin with. I let my dogs on the couch, but if I tell them to get off and go to their bed, they will without hesitation. They've earned that privilege based on respect, trust, and understanding.

If you want to "spoil" your dog, do it by setting them up for success. Exercise them, give them boundaries, give them a job, and give them what they actually need instead of the latest squeaky toy. The time you spend playing with your dog means more than the toy itself.

Love your dog. Cherish your dog. Respect your dog, but for the love of the dog, TREAT THEM LIKE A DOG.

(And before anyone wants to say something silly...My dogs are my family. They literally signed my marriage certificate, but they also have boundaries. Just like any healthy family should!)
