🗓️ Here for the next two Tuesdays, dive into the world of wildlife with sessions at 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, and 14:00 PM. Get hands-on and learn how to protect these amazing animals for future generations.

I have just recieved this email in regards to today’s Ipswich Museum’s talks… it genuinely made me tear up so had to share it! 😍

I attended one of your sessions today at Christchurch Park in Ipswich and wanted to write to tell you how fantastic it was.

As a primary school teacher myself, I know how challenging it can be to gain and hold children’s attention whilst also disseminating information and coping with people talking at the same time. You did a marvellous job, maintaining enthusiasm and calmness whilst delivering an enjoyable and informative session.

The children were transfixed and animated; your passion and care for the animals was clearly apparent; and your subject knowledge and the manner in which you shared this was so engaging.

The fact that one of the children had retained so much information and was keen to share and join in following a previous session was such a credit to you.

Had a great first day at the balloon festival meeting all the visitors and even our dinosaur neighbors who were kind enough to let our animals meet their scaly cousins! We'll be there all weekend in the kids zone so feel free to come visit us and listen to our scheduled talks at 1:30 pm and 4:30pm

We are at Old Buckenham Country Park for 3 days for the Balloon Festival 2024 with our van and a wide selection of reptiles and invertebrates!

Cassie our Royal Python has even met some dinosaurs from the incredible team at RentaDinosaur !

Myself and Archie Boy have been competing at BD since January 2022, completing our first affiliated tests at one of your Wix shows, the helpful and professional atmosphere at your events allowed us to have an incredible first experience and gave us a big jump start into our dressage journey. Since then as a combination we have gone from strength to strength working our way through the levels, our highlights include placing 8th at Arena UK Prelim Regions and more recently representing Team Suffolk at Novice level at the Inter County Challenge. We have continued to consistently compete at the Optimum dressage shows in Essex and Suffolk including Earlsway, Boyton and Suffolk Rural. We have also used your test training days to help us along the way.
Our goal for 2024 is to step up to elementary and I believe this opportunity would enable us to get the ring experience and put our goal into action along side our weekly training. Archie and I have been a combination for 4 years and outside of dressage we enjoy taking part in county level showing, eventing and showjumping.
I’m incredibly lucky to have such an amazing horse who really puts his heart into everything we try. Outside of horses I am extremely motivated and am currently completing my nursing degree.

We are running 3 hour workshops for 6-16year olds at Parham Village Hall, IP13 9LZ for just £20.

-Cute & cuddly (1-4pm Thursday 15th August)
-Minibeasts inc tarantulas! (9-12 Thursday 29th August)
-Smooth & scaley (9-12 Thursday 15th August and 1-4pm Thursday 29th August)
-Mixed animal magic (1-4pm Thursday 8th August and 1-4pm Thursday 22nd August)

The children will be split into groups of 5-7 (according to their age) and will rotate round multiple activities including:

-meet and learn about some incredible animals including getting up close and hands on!
-a variety of animal themed arts & crafts chosen by your child (including animal masks, animal clay models, t-shirt or bag design, keyring making and much more!)
-play some roar-tastic games!
and meet some incredible new friends too!

For ages 6-16.

Run by a fully qualified teacher. All staff DBS checked with Paediatric emergency first aiders always on site. Fully insured.

Children are able to be dropped off or one parent/carer may remain with a child for our 3 hour sessions.

Thursday 8th August, Thursday 15th August, Thursday 22nd August and Thursday 29th August.

A stay and play session for 7 year olds where they get to meet a variety of animals including reptiles, amphibians, insects, mammals and birds!
PLUS can explore our many different activity areas including:

-ride on tractors

A mobile zoo offered school children in Suffolk a chance to meet a host of animals including a tarantula, a scorpion and a lesser bamboo rat.

Our Under 5’s Stay & Play sessions are run every Tuesday term time at Parham Village Hall, IP13 9LZ (in between Framlingham and Wickham Market)

We have two sessions-
9.30-10.30
10.30-11.30

It’s £5 per child.
We have lots of different areas for the little ones to explore:

-our roleplay zone: role play as a vet, a dinosaur or even a bumble bee! Or why not make the animals some food in our kitchens? Or you could give the horses a groom and even go for a ride on our hobby horses or rocking horse!

-our soft play zone: explore our different pop up tents and tunnels, or go down our slide into our ball pit! You can even practise your throwing skills with our mini basketball net or bean bag net.

-our messy zone: why not have a splash around with our kitchen with a working sink! Clean up the animal feed bowls or give the snakes a bath! Or you can dig til your heart’s content in our sand put with our diggers and tractors!

-our reading corner: you can sit down and snuggle into our animal soft toys, cushions and read a story about animals, or maybe even learn some facts with our animal based books that change every week!

-our musical zone: explore different musical instruments including a keyboard mat that makes animal noises! Or our jungle drum kit!

-small world play: every week we have a different small world play set up- it could be reptiles in a desert, bugs in a forest, animals on a farm, underwater worlds, build your own zoo or more!

-crafty zone: every week there is a different themed craft, from mask making, to clay models, to making your own bug hotel there is always something new to do! Plus why not draw on our easel? Can you draw your favourite animal?

-sensory zone: come and explore different textures and items based around our weekly animal theme. From jelly fish, to squeezy snakes, to pine cones!

-explorer zone: what can you see this week with our magnifying glasses and child friendly microscopes?

-Under 2s zone: something for even the smallest of friends! A whole range of sensory and baby-friendly animal based toys to explore for our littlest friends!

Some pics from arachnid week last week!
Last week we met a variety of spiders and tarantulas including Curly the curly haired tarantula, Natasha the green bottle blue tarantula, Pixie the Chilean rose tarantula, Sirius Black the Brazilian black tarantula, Little Miss Muffet the salmon pink bird-eating tarantula, Pepsi the jumping spider and our African social spiders!
We learnt about the difference between web making spiders and ground dwelling spiders and how they catch their prey.
We watched a video about trap door spiders before making our very own trap door spider!

Some pics from yesterday’s club!
We learnt all about the wildlife in the UK and the dangers they face and spoke about the different ways we can help our wildlife.
We then met a variety of mini beasts that are from all around the world, talking about the similarities and differences between our minibeasts and giant African millipedes, green bean stick insects, sun beetles and hissing cockroaches!
Then we made our very own bug hotel to take home and put in our gardens to try and help give a home to our very important insect friends.

We had a lovely time the last two days at plant fair, despite the various showers we still saw blue skies in the end! You can find us on the 28th and 29th at the next to the craft tent and honey tent to meet the animals ask questions and get involved with our curiosity corner, perfect for little ones!
