This #givingtuesday we are raising money for our future Sally’s out there 💗Our medical dogs that needs thousands and thousands of dollars in surgeries, that are left behind and forgotten in high kill shelters. When we rescued Sally she had a fistula abscess that ruptured at the base of her tail, fecal matter was pouring out of it. No local vet could take on the complexity of it, so we drove down to San Diego to a specialist who said they had only seen one other case similar, ever. I slept in my van out front and was there every step of the way for Sally. $10k surgery later, she’s a living, breathing, wild child miracle 😂 Was it worth it? The funds, the late nights cleaning and caring for her through her initial fecal incontinence, to see her now thriving at the beach, on hikes, meeting random people with the happiest of smiles? Yes, absolutely, yes ☺️As a small dog rescue, we receive NO government funding! It’s official!!! Bear has found his forever home, & just in time for the holiday season 🥹❤️We couldn’t be happier for Bear finding such a wonderful, loving family to call his own. You might have seen that Bear was returned to us a couple months ago after being adopted for a year. We were all so heartbroken for him when he came back, but pushing our feelings aside in rescue I think one of the biggest things is we can’t change what’s happened, just how to move forward and give them everything we can for them to thrive going forward, and that’s exactly what we did! Bear had an evaluation with our trainer friends @pawsup_vacay and got to play and hangout with all the pack dogs and did great! He went back to our vet to get all checked out again and update all his vaccines. He has been such a joy to have around and the most resilient guy even with all of the changes around him, always so sweet and grateful! A huge thank you to his amazing adopter for giving Bear a lovely home and life to call his own. We really couldn’t of dreamed of a better fit for him, he really hit the jackpot 🙏🏻 Have the best life ever Bear!!! You deserve every moment of it. Foster or Adopt Tigerlily 🌷If you have been following us for a while you might remember this sweet, wrinkly face 🥹 We rescued Tigerlily last year from Riverside shelter, she was one of 35 American Bulldogs who were confiscated from a breeding situation. All the other bulldogs were pulled and rescued, Tigerlily was the last one left. We of course, couldn’t leave her behind. Tigerlily has been such a loving girl since the day she left the shelter. Always so eager to please and wiggly! She is so incredibly resilient and just wants to be apart of a family so, so bad. She ended up finding a home about 6 months ago and has now sadly been returned. She had been in homes with cats, between her fosters and her adopters homes, for over a year without issues. Sadly due to a situational incident, we won’t be putting her in a home with cats in the future. Tigerlily needs a foster ASAP! When I got the call from the adopter who was surrendering it was at night and she wanted me to pick her up that evening, so I haven’t had a chance to get her a foster home in the meantime. We had the most AMAZING one day workshop with the dog training/rescue Queen herself Cheri Wulff Lucas this past weekend 🙌🏻It was so fun being surrounded by close friends and colleagues @pawsup_vacay @momsdoodledaycare and just being in such a tranquil, supportive environment to do what we love and be able to expand our knowledge and skills to better suit our dogs needs! Who’s that girl?! 👀 It’s Sally, DUH! 💁🏼♀️How amazing does Sally look?! We had a great morning with @pawsup_vacay & @momsdoodledaycare walking Pismo Beach and beating the Paso heat, and clearly Sally had the time of her life!!!Sally is still looking for a very special home, one that is patient and willing to work with her and us on her medical journey. It’s been so awesome to watch her medical journey unfold and her transformation through it all, from being fresh out of a very complicated surgery, to being temporarily incontinent, to her struggles with her GI upsets, to now see her getting better and better as every day goes by, it just means the world! From struggling to survive in the Central Valley as a stray, to getting returned from her adopters after a year, she’s down on her luck. 😔 Kimber’s adopters loved her very much but due to unforeseen circumstances they ultimately had to give her back to the rescue. Kimber is about 5 years old and has great house manners! She is very loving and sweet to any person she meets. Kimber is very food motivated and easy to train, she’s housebroken, crate trained and all in all a very sweet companion. Everyone, please welcome our 4 newest Atlas rescues! 🥳We made a trip down to South LA animal shelter that currently houses 500 (yes, 500!!!!) dogs. They are set up for somewhere around 250, and they are currently THAT overcrowded right now. Dogs are sleeping in wire crates lining up the halls due to having absolutely no space. This is a crisis like you wouldn’t believe and even just being there witnessing it we were overcome with emotion. Some dogs have been there 2+ years 🥺 It’s just heart wrenching. @hellosouthladogs @fostersouthla are angels among us and go to the shelter almost everyday to help network these incredible, deserving dogs. We were originally heading down to help Marty who was scheduled to be euthanized, but of course the longer we stayed and the longer we were talking to networkers and volunteers, we added 3 more to our freedom ride.. is it really that surprising though? 🤷🏼♀️😂We currently have a couple shorter term fosters generously helping us and are looking for a couple longer term fosters families, if you are interested in helping and opening your home to an incredibly deserving pup, please fill out our foster application at the link in our bio or if already approved, please send us an email or DM 📲 We cover everything! YOU GUYS!!!! We found Timber!!!! I’ll post more soon, on our way to ER with him, he has a bum leg and lacerations, but SO THANKFUL HES SAFE WITH US NOW 😭Animal control called me saying a neighbor found him in their backyard by Jim Green trailhead where we last saw him. I immediately called Paws Up Vacay & Tired Tails to help me catch him and brought the dogs out that he knows and trusts, including his brother Echo, and Mariah was able to get the slip lead on him. 😭 A huge thank you to all the incredible volunteers out to help us find him, and all the love and support sent!I can’t believe we have him, I’m still in shock!!! THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!! 💗
