Everyone, please welcome our 4 newest Atlas rescues! 🥳We made a trip down to South LA animal shelter that currently houses 500 (yes, 500!!!!) dogs. They are set up for somewhere around 250, and they are currently THAT overcrowded right now. Dogs are sleeping in wire crates lining up the halls due to having absolutely no space. This is a crisis like you wouldn’t believe and even just being there witnessing it we were overcome with emotion. Some dogs have been there 2+ years 🥺 It’s just heart wrenching. @hellosouthladogs @fostersouthla are angels among us and go to the shelter almost everyday to help network these incredible, deserving dogs. We were originally heading down to help Marty who was scheduled to be euthanized, but of course the longer we stayed and the longer we were talking to networkers and volunteers, we added 3 more to our freedom ride.. is it really that surprising though? 🤷🏼♀️😂We currently have a couple shorter term fosters generously helping us and are looking for a couple longer term fosters families, if you are interested in helping and opening your home to an incredibly deserving pup, please fill out our foster application at the link in our bio or if already approved, please send us an email or DM 📲 We cover everything! YOU GUYS!!!! We found Timber!!!! I’ll post more soon, on our way to ER with him, he has a bum leg and lacerations, but SO THANKFUL HES SAFE WITH US NOW 😭Animal control called me saying a neighbor found him in their backyard by Jim Green trailhead where we last saw him. I immediately called Paws Up Vacay & Tired Tails to help me catch him and brought the dogs out that he knows and trusts, including his brother Echo, and Mariah was able to get the slip lead on him. 😭 A huge thank you to all the incredible volunteers out to help us find him, and all the love and support sent!I can’t believe we have him, I’m still in shock!!! We did a thing yesterday guys.. everyone meet Shea 🫶🏻🥹Shea was scheduled to be killed yesterday at the Riverside Animal Shelter, the San Jacinto campus. She came into the shelter as a stray and had some lameness to her back leg and swelling. The X-rays showed she had multiple fractures to her leg and would either need orthopedic surgery or an amputation to the leg. She ended up sitting in the shelter for 2 weeks with the fractures, when we got sent a post on her yesterday I immediately called the shelter and they told me they were going to give her till the end of the day before euthanizing her if no rescue came for her. I called throughout the day to see if anyone was coming because I was told she had some rescue interest, but no one came. At the final hour we were able to make a plan for her and save her before it was too late. A huge shoutout to my wonderful mum who was able to make the drive to the shelter yesterday and save her for us! Only the best for this little lady from here on out ☺️💗We have an appointment to get Shea with our vet here on the central coast to get a game plan together for her. Our vets have said since it’s been fractured for the past 2 weeks, possibly more, it might not be a candidate for orthopedic surgery anymore and we might have to do an amputation instead, but either way we will make sure she gets the care and attention she needs! If anyone is interested in fostering this little lady on the central coast after her surgery it would be absolutely amazing! Shes a total love, has been great around other dogs, and could care less about cats so far. She’s such a gem, and we can’t wait to get her feeling her best again here soon! Sally, our little warrior did it!!!! Woooo! 🥳🎉🙌🏻We just picked her up from the Veterinary Speciality Hospital in San Marcos, the surgery went well and she’s recovering nicely! The CT scans showed a mildly dilated colon and the rectocutaneous fistula. They basically had to remove the affected portion of the rectum and then reattach the rectum to the anus. The doctor said this is the 3rd one he’s ever had to do as it’s quite rare, but that he believes she will recover well! We are so incredibly grateful to the wonderful staff at the hospital who worked so hard for our sweet girl and gave her so much love while she was there! She absolutely loved them and had to say bye to everyone before she left 😂I can’t thank you all enough for sharing, posting, & donating towards Sally’s life saving procedure. Without you all, this wouldn’t have been possible and for that we are eternally grateful to each and every one of you! 🥹💗 In other AMAZING news, we had an angel donor that has covered the rest of the amount due for her surgery!!! It’s been an emotional night but, TULIP IS HOME!!!!!! 🥹💗One week, yes ONE WEEK after Tulip took off in Pozo I got the amazing call that a kind man found her in his backyard in Atascadero, yes Atascadero! Insane right?! Tulips adopter has been camping out in Pozo every night since she disappeared, we along with other friends and volunteers have been searching the area for her, making flyers, setting up traps, drones, you name it, Tulip had an amazing support network and thanks to all of YOU for sharing her and spreading the word, right when her founder brought her into @atascaderopethospital they all knew it was TULIP! 🥹We can’t thank @geoff.clinton & Debbie enough for their tireless efforts, setting up their messy trap for her and staying up literally all night searching for her for days with their thermal drone. You both are absolutely incredible humans and I’m so beyond thankful that this experience has led to all of us meeting! We have learned so much from you guys these past few days and are so incredibly thankful for everything!A huge thank you to @marcus_the_maligator for finding Tulip and taking her to Atascadero Pet Hospital!! Truly after getting the call I was in shock, it felt like a fever dream especially since only a day prior we had seen her around high mountain road again, just wild! ‼️Emergency / Donations needed!‼️We were called up by @turlockanimalservices to help take in this darling 4 month old Frenchie Puppy with a rectal prolapse. He was surrendered to the shelter with the prolapse and was just sitting in the shelter waiting for someone to come.🥺We made plans right after getting the call and even though we have taken in 8 new dogs this week (yes, you read that right 🫠) we couldn’t let this baby sit there in pain, so we made the 3 hour journey there and back to Turlock to save him and rush him to our wonderful vets @northcountyanimalhospital who stayed open an extra hour and a half to assess him last night, THANK YOU DR.BELL 💗🙏🏻 a huge thank you to the best @bodinthebully for making the crazy journey with me yesterday too!! Foster or Adopt Albert! 🤎I have been so behind on an intro post for Albert! We rescued him the same day we went to @avenalanimalshelterfriends for Chip! Little Albert was shaking in the back of his kennel, with poop caked on his coat. He came into the shelter as a stray as many of the Avenal dogs do. We thankfully had a temp foster offer at the time for him and were able to bail him out! Albert is a super sweet, & loving 2 year old Terrier mix. He’s pretty small, only about 7 lbs! He wasn’t sure of the idea of the leash at first but is starting to come around. He’s a Velcro dog that just wants to be close, he will be an amazing companion to someone special out there! 5 lives saved from our local shelter thanks to YOU GUYS for sharing our foster plea!!! 🥳We are so unbelievably excited and thankful, and know they are too! We had some shelter volunteers reach out asking us to help pull some dogs @slocountyanimalservices since they were so full, I had in mind pulling 1-2 dogs hopefully, but after all the foster offers we received we were able to help even more than we imagined! It was a fun drive home being a kennel short in the van haha, so we had to makeshift with a soft kennel which cowboy quickly wrestled out of and ended up sitting in the back seat like a very distinguished gentleman the whole drive home 😂 We are busy getting vet appointments scheduled today, and dropping off goods and supplies to our wonderful foster homes!
