Tonight I went to Crush Night Out at Sports Authority Field. It was for Women only and the ladies liked me. Drew Litton, fun music, sports players, and I got to see the stadium and hang out on club level. It's good being a traveling cheetah!
Today I spent the day at the Roberts family sheep ranch in New Castle. I learned how to irrigate, drive a swather, and had antelope for dinner. It was awesome! Thank you Kevin and Amy for everything!
I had such a great day exploring Rifle Falls, New Castle, and Silt. Mom is participating in a Summer Agriculture Institute. Today we learned an water, irrigation, water diversion, ranching, and farming. Let me tell you, these people work hard to bring food to your table!!
I had another wonderful day on my vacation. Today we were in Branson, Missouri. We went to see, Hits of the 60's and 50's, which was fun! They even pulled my grandpa on stage and made him part of the show. He was a good sport and liked the attention. Great music to shake a tail to!!
Tonight we saw Patsy Cline and Friends. Lots of talent in Branson and family friendly. The comedian was my favorite tonight.
Friday,I visited the President Clinton Library. The second Presidential Library this summer. It was interesting, but my favorite part was finding out that the 4th floor is the Clinton penthouse and they were there! We didn't see the Clinton's but we did see the men in black (the Secret Service).
Yesterday I visited The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas. This was the Texas School Book Depository building where Lee Harvey Oswald was when "he" shot President John F. Kennedy. I also visited the grassy knoll. The X in the road shows exactly where it happened.
The big red building across the street is the courthouse. The white flat paneled structure is the JFK Memorial (no roof and nothing inside). A sad moment in history.
On Friday I was lucky enough to attend the 8th reunion of The Rocky Mountain News (thanks to my great buddy and famous sports cartoonist Drew Litton). It was held at The Denver Press Club.
The Denver Press Club is the oldest Press Club in the United States. In fact the building is celebrating its 125th birthday. It's a beautiful building rich in history. Signed pictures from presidents, illustrations of famous Denver journalists, printer's plates from famous headlines, Pulitzer Prize winning photos, awards, fun pictures and memorabilia all grace the building.
On top of admiring all the cool things in the building I got to shake paws with some pretty cool people too. I met Dusty Saunders (journalist) and his lovely wife Anita. Lynn Bartels (communication Director for CO Secretary of State), City Councilman Kevin Flynn, Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Barry Gutierrez, and Editorial cartoonist Ed Stein all were as happy to meet me as I was to meet them. Everyone there was wonderful.
When the Press Club first opened you could belong if you believed in honest and ethical journalism. On the front of the building is a placard honoring our 1st amendment rights. A wonderful and exciting evening!!
On Monday I visited one of my favorite fun places. I went to play at The Old time Arcade in Manitou Springs. Some of the games are from the 1930's and cost between one penny and 25 cents. There are games that cost more, but a cheetah has to watch his budget.
Chester visited the beautiful Broadmore Hotel on n Colorado Springs. He loved it and shaking his tail to the music of the Broadmore's very own orchestra. They can play everything!! 🎩🎼
Chester dancing at The El Paso Chihuahua's game.
Homestead Picker. They are all so talented.
Last night I was so surprised to see Drew Litton performing with The Magnificent Seven as one of the Elvis impersonators. Mag7show at Hamner"s Variety Theater.
