Emerson is an 18 mo. old lab so mellow, he tolerated his pit bull roomies rolling around on him and using him for their pillow! Now he's enjoying the beach life with his new mom, plus his very own chicken and duck besties. ❤️

UPDATE on dear LUCY: The lab report showed wide margins and that the mast cell tumor was very low grade. This means there is a very good chance it will not return! The adopter will monitor the area and schedule an extra vet visit every year. Next up: Working with the adopter to tackle those nasty heartworms!

Welcome to the Friends of the CSRA Humane Society page. Here, you will find news on adoptable pets (only dogs so far, but we will be adding the kitties soon), as well as adoption success stories. The CSRAHS, a 501(c)(3), has been the area’s only no-kill shelter for more than 20 years, and it is funded solely through community grants and donations. Please consider supporting its work through your donation! [NOTE: This is not the place for inquiries about lost and found animals or about surrendering animals. Messages will not be read or responded to. Thanks.]

The President of the CSRAHS Board said that she once heard there are two kinds of adopters: Pet Likers and Pet Lovers. Pet Likers take good care of their pets, keeping them safe and loving them for life. Pet Lovers, though, are a special breed, willing to take the less-than-perfect pet, one with medical issues or special needs. How supremely fortunate we are that Lucy found her Pet Lovers to cherish her the rest of her days. All the best, sweet girl!

The sole purpose of this page is to promote the adoptable animals at the CSRA Humane Society, our area's only no-kill shelter, and to share the shelter's "success stories." If you "liked" this, please invite your friends. Traffic = Interest = Adoptions! [PLEASE NOTE: This page is NOT for answering questions about specific animals. If you are interested in an animal, please contact the CSRA Humane Society directly at [email protected] or visit the shelter (425 Wood Street Augusta, GA 30904) during public hours (4-6pm Monday and 12-4pm Saturday). Thanks!]

ADOPTED!!!
Patch is a soft and snuggly dilute tortie who enjoys being held. Recently left out in front of the shelter in a cardboard box, she was brought in and will soon complete her vetting. As curious and active as she is, you'd never guess she's 11 years old! With all that energy she loves to roll around and take in her surroundings. She will gladly accept all the pets you can give!
