This gorgeous boy arrived with us this week all the way from France, for his retirement of luxury. His owner is a truly remarkable lady - so utterly selfless. I can’t image how hard this has been for her, but thank you for trusting me with your beautiful special boy.
He has settled in to life with us incredibly well, and after only 48hrs is like he’s always been here, he has such a happy little face.

I am so fortunate to work for the most wonderful people, there’s nothing else I’d rather do.

To all my owners, thank you, I love you and your horses very much 🧡

With the forcast being kind - at last!! we have extended our welcoming time ahead of the winter for Full GRASS LIVERY. Space for a mare or gelding. Our winter fields are stacked with grass ready to go, along with our huge shelters, Astro loafing areas and tracks and hay bars stacked with our home grown hay and haylage where better to retire your horse ? 🤩

We cant recommend B&W Equine Hospital enough … here is a wonderful post about our own pony Harry who I successfully rehabbed.

It was an incredibly stressful time for us as it is any horse owner, odds where against Harry returning to competition, but we never gave up hope and we didn’t rush any part of his rehab, I’m a firm believer time and patience is the best healer 🫶

Are you having a really tough time with your horse and just need it all to stop and take some time to reset? Both of you?

Well we would love to help!

We offer horses and their owners time to stop the whirl wind of vets bills, stress, yard antics, or is it just a lack of turnout making your horse a crazy monster?, along with multiple confusing opinions, coz let’s face it everyone’s an expert the list goes on.

Here we offer kindness and support to owners reassuring them, that there is always a solution to every situation, be that physically or mentally or both, we will help you find it!

Being a horse owner should be amazing, your time to be happy, time away from the stresses of life, not something that’s affecting your health, your relationship or just your everyday happiness.

We provide a safe, calm, stress free environment for your horse allowing them time to just be a horse and the best thing is they don’t have to compromise their care or anything they are used too ❤️ they and you are our priority.

Sadly I meet too many people who wish they never bought a horse because it’s become nothing short of a nightmare, this makes me incredibly sad. These beautiful animals and our love for them is a gift, loving a horse is not a choice it’s in our DNA, it’s how we are made.

If I can help you in anyway to rekindle your love for horses, and trust in people then please don’t hesitate to contact me - I am ALWAYS on the phone to offer genuine advise and support, I have a wealth of knowledge and firsthand experience, along with a place nothing short of heaven to enjoy with your horse.

8 huge new shelters ready to be cladded, designed by us, made by my amazing husband and erected as a family 🙌🏻

We are always reinvesting year on year, improving our facilities to be the best retirement you will find!

These new shelters will insure that there is a shelter in every field and paddock we have here - pretty flipping epic I’d say ! Rain or shine your horses always have everything they need 🫶 we work really hard to make your horses retirement a very happy one!

Elite Equine Rest and Retirement provides the most wonderful retirement livery with superb facilities and care, catering to each individuals requirements. We pride ourselves on home from home care at our beautuful farm with 72 acres. We offer top end retirement livery to 20 horses either full grass (herds max of 5) or with a stable on our wonderful yard for maximum luxury.
Our Fields have have huge rubber matted shelters, big hedges. Hard standing loafing areas and tracks, topped with Astro Turf to ensure no mud fever and allowing the horses to rest on a nice dry comfy surface during the winter, fed homegrown ad-lib hay/haylage in hay bars.
Yard includes huge open fronted stables, individual cctv in every stable, auto drinkers, rubber mats, hot wash bay, solarium industrial washing machines and daily turnout all year round.
Full care provided everyday of the year - your horse is our priority.
Private retirement only yard that welcomes owners to come and enjoy our little bit of horse heaven ❤️

Who are we ?....

Our home near the Devon/Cornwall border offers a purpose-built 6 box yard for Equine Rehabilitation and Post Operative Care. Surrounded by its own 45 acres of land, provides a perfectly tranquil yard for the rehabilitating equine. We are very private but easily accessible. Providing a number of treatment options for either inpatients or day visitors. We cater for horses requiring a bespoke treatment program.

Run by Jess Crocker with the support to her husband and young son Harvey. Jess has spent her life working with horses, with 25 years experience in running yards for Racehorses, Eventers and Hunters and most recently producing young horses for Eventing. Jess currently enjoys being hands on with the fitness work of her International Event horse Biscuit. Her passion has always been to provide the highest standard of stable management with around the clock care to ensure that any horses in her care are as fit and well as they can be at all times. Burscott Farm is the family home and as such allows Jess to provide home from home care to ensure the highest standard of attention for every horse we have to stay.

The rehabilitation programme for all of our residents will be overseen by our expert Sally Cinnamond; Chartered Physiotherapist, MCSP, HCPC, Veterinary Physiotherapist, ACPAT Cat A, who as an integral part of our team will be able to provide a full range of therapeutic options including:

Therapeutic ultrasound Neuromuscular electrical stimulation Laser therapy Manual therapy including spinal mobilisation Exercise based rehabilitation
