I finally got Emma and Kayla out of the barn long enough to take a spin on Maggie. 😀 She's a fabulous AQHA/APHA mare. You can't beat a good stock horse. Fingers crossed I can get them gone more often.

Good Morning,

I'm sure you all have been seeing the news about the current outbreak of EHV/EHM. In order to protect our horses, Red Horse Ridge is observing the following protocols:

-No boarder horses are to leave the facility.
-No outside horses are allowed to haul in.
-We are not allowing any vets or farriers out to the barn for a few weeks to limit possible cross contamination
-If you go to any other equine facility, make sure that you shower, change clothes, and disinfect all equipment (boots, helmets, etc.) before coming to red horse. Better yet, have different sets of "stuff" for different places.

The horses that were part of my September vaccination appointment were vaccinated for EHV-1; however, there is not currently a vaccine for the EHM variant, so it is absolutely critical that we treat Red Horse as if it is under quarantine. Please continue to follow these guidelines until you hear otherwise from Katie or me.

Big congrats to Kaitlyn and Oliver! They won the overall and Appaloosa high points at the most recent Greystone Virtual Dressage Show. This was their first show together since Kaitlyn took time off to become a mom.

I got to ride a blast from the past today. Magic is still just as wonderful as ever. 😀

Magic is trakehner gelding by Garibaldi out of a Graditz mare. He was bred by Martin and Ginger Warvi and is owned by Katherine Spencer (the Warvis' daughter). I won't tell you how old he is, but the second photo is of us from 14 years ago.

Ben was kind enough to es**rt our greenie baby mares to a Halloween schooling show yesterday. Despite the hideous fringe, Frances and Ben debuted third level with two 64s. Emma and Maggie got tossed into the deep end, but came out swimming. Maggie has only been doing dressage for three weeks, but still managed to put in two very respectable intro tests. Ciri and Loretta did not show, but were very well-behaved ground crew.
