A bit late to the punch, but happy Father's Day to all the sires out there throwing good brains, sound bodies, and big hearts!

The Appaloosa stallion is Huntability (Huntley's dad). The Swedish stallion is L.A. Baltic Sundance (TT's dad). Now if I could just find a way to cross the two....

We had a great weekend at the Summer Solstice Dressage Show. As always we would like to thank the horde of people who allow us to participate in this sport.

Going in stall order:
- Frances and Ben got the second level scores they need to be eligible for the USDF year end awards. They also earned another score towards Frances' USDF Dressage Accomplished Rider Equitation Award.

- Emma and Yoshi scored in the mid 60s to 70s at first level all weekend. They earned a score towards Emma's USDF first level riders performance award and a score toward Emma's USDF Dressage Accomplished Rider Equitation Award.

- This was Kaitlyn and Oliver's first time together showing away from home. They scored in the low 60s at introductory level.

- Tango and I are now officially a Grand Prix pair. We earned a score towards my USDF gold medal.

There was a unanimous vote taken while Emma was in the tack room. We decided Emma was the de facto social media manager for the weekend, so please lodge all complaints about the lack of photos with her. Oh yes, this vote was taken at about 1 pm today, and the show ended at about 3:30.

He did it! Tango is officially a grand prix horse. Despite a medley of rider errors, Tango managed to pull a 60.2 at the Summer Solstice Dressage Show. We've been working towards this goal for the past six years. We need one more 60 to finish our gold medal, but today was a huge victory.

Baltic Tango (LA Baltic Sundance X Track Barron) is a 2006 Swedish Warmblood owned by Lindsay Waite Jones and bred by her mother, Cinday Latham.

The color theme for today's clinic is purple. We're 5 rides in and Shannon hasn't notice get. Emma and I even wore the same purple FITS breeches.

I'll try to be better about taking pictures.

-Emma/Oliver: This was Oliver's first time showing recognized, and his first time showing at First Level. They earned a score towards Emma's First Level Rider Performance Award.

Big thanks to Kaitlyn (Ollie's Other Mother), Sarah. Avery, and Jacob for coming out to help us today.

We'd also like to thank Mid-South Dressage Academy for hosting us, and for being so incredibly accommodating.

Huge CONGRATULATIONS to Alex and Batman! They just earned their USDF Bronze Bar! This is the first Bar in our gang. The weather was too bad for a photo, but we'll take some when we're settled back home.

We had a great time at the Mid-South Dressage Academy Bunny Hop Dressage Show. In stall order:

-Frances and Ben scored a 70 on both of their First Level Freestyle rides. They also were in the 60s both times at 2-3. 2 blues, 2 reds, 1 8 (dark chocolate almonds)

-Alex and Batman NAILED 2-3 with a 70%. They followed it up with another 70 on their Second Level Freestyle. They had some super nice half-passes in their Third Level freestyle, which has historically been a hard spot for the moose. 2 blues, 1 red, 3 8s (candy order???)

-Emma and Huntley got thrown into the deep end a bit, but came out swinging. 67-68 on their first level rides and a 71 at equitation. 1 massive pink ribbon, 4 blues, 1 8 (candy order?)

-We will be having a barn party at DJ's pizza to celebrate (details coming soon).

-The horses were all great, but Sarah's cookies were the true stars of the weekend. The four of us devoured a massive tray.

-As always, BIG thanks to all the ground crew and support staff that make this sport possible. It takes a village to raise a child, but it takes a small country (and its GDP...) to go down centerline.

As usual, Huntley didn't leave any ribbons for the other kids... Emma and Huntley only had about 3 weeks to prepare for this show, but they totally knocked it out of the park. They consistently scored 67-68% at First Level, won all of their classes, and earned the Bunny Hop JR/YR High Point ribbon. This was Emma's first time showing this level at a USEF/USDF recognized event.

Alex/Batman and Frances/Ben were neck and neck in their freestlye class today. They were riding second and first level freestlyes, respectively. Both scored in the 70s with Alex/Batman's Outlander dance just beating out Frances/Ben's Michael Jackson routine. Congrats to both teams!
