All donations to our organization are tax deductible. Our organization is run by former animal rescue / shelter board members and volunteers who have

life-long experience with animals. The stray, homeless, and feral cat population is an issue in many areas, and Cedar County is no exception. We work tirelessly to keep this population under control through our trap, neuter, vaccinate, release (TNVR) program and via rescue through our foster to adopt program. We are a NO KILL organization, with exceptions made only under extreme circumstances for animals who are unable to be helped, and such decisions are not made without the guidance of our trusted local veterinarians. CCLAW maintains positive working relationships with many animal shelters and non-profit rescues throughout Iowa which allows us to network and ensure the best possible outcome for all cats in our care.

WEST BRANCH COMMUNITY please help!

Tonight we answered a call for help with a litter of kittens that appeared in someone’s yard. We believe there are 6 of them and we are working to catch the remaining one. 🐾

We believe that these kittens appeared because they were looking for food. They smelled HORRIBLE like a rotting carcass. Our best guess is that they had been laying with (and probably trying to nurse from) their DEAD MOTHER as that is the only real explanation for why they smelled so foul. They were VERY hungry and are a bit under weight but otherwise fine. Tomorrow, they will be placed with a foster family experienced in taming feral / semi - feral kittens and then placed up for adoption when ready. THEY WILL BE AT OUR ADOPTION EVENT IN JULY. 📆

Now, for what we need help with. This litter alone will cost $500 to have spayed / neutered and vaccinated. 💰

We also need help with funding to get some colonies in West Branch spayed / neutered so this stops happening! Imaging these faces piled on their DEAD mother waiting for her to wake up and care for them. WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING. 😭

🗣️ No one gets to complain about “nuisance” cats if they aren’t helping to address the problem!

🚨 WE HAVE BEEN ASKED TO RESCUE 2 LITTERS OF KITTENS 🚨

Unfortunately, we are not able to help unless we have more people step up to foster. We currently have over 20 kittens in our care (plus some moms) so we have no room to help — UNLESS YOU HELP US HELP THEM! Please, considerer temporarily opening up a room in your 🏠 home to save these lives.

NO more babies here!! A new kitten made its way to the 14 cat colony we did last summer. It's pretty tame, now fixed and vaccinated at Iowa Humane Alliance. And 2 that were done last summer came to greet us! They all still hunt mice, BUT no more kittens, diarrhea, lice, fleas, snotty noses, or crusty eyes. They're still healthy, good weight, and have beautiful coats. All that come to the farm have commented to the farmer on this. That is what happens with every colony we do. It DOES make a difference!!!

ABAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!

This sweet but rambunctious kitten is estimated around 12-14 weeks old. Neutered and vaccinated. He light orange, has long hair, and 5 toes (polydactyl)! 🐾

He needs a low key home without young kids and probably best without dogs but he DOES need another cat / kitten to engage in rough and tough play. This sweet boy has ALOT of personality and likes to zoom like lightning and be bossy BUT he also enjoys cuddles when it’s time to calm down.

We have had a lot of interest in this sweet soul because he is SO CUTE but we really need to ensure the right fit for his new forever home.

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

This adorable male cat has shown up in rural Mechanicsville and does not seem to have an owner. He is tame, likes to be petted, but does not like to be picked up. We are working on getting more information.

Please message us if you would like to give him a home. He will have a $50 adoption fee as we will have him neutered / vaccinated.
