I have been living in the foster home for almost 2 years with no luck to get adopted.
One day, I woke up with something bothering my eye and my sight.
After going to several vets, I was diagnosed with a tumour behind one of my eyes.
We still need more tests.

My owner passed away a few months ago.
I didn't leave his side for hours after his death.
No one from his family offered to keep me or adopt me.
So it ended up that I came to Baraka's foster home.
I got really depressed and I stopped eating.
So I collapsed, but my foster mum there didn't lose hope on me.
Now, I am fully recovered and healthy.

Today, we are celebrating 4 years of hard work in rescuing and fostering innocent souls.
The cat in the picture is my 4th rescue case "Baraka"
He was the first resident of the Foster Home.
The picture in 2020 was his first picture in the foster home, and the picture in 2024 is his picture in his forever home in Canada.
Baraka was a real blessing, and he was the reason I started to foster more cases until I reach the day I have one of the most reputable foster homes for cats.
And of course, I can not deny the help of a lot of people who helped me in the beginning and who are still helping me.
Today, Baraka's foster home is celebrating its 4th anniversary because of your help.
Today, we are celebrating the success we reached.
Today, I am Mariam, celebrating the great job I have been doing for the last 4 years. Can't be more proud of myself, and I pray God to have the strength to keep doing what I am doing.
Today, I am celebrating rescuing more than 2500 cases (cats & dogs) in 6 years and fostering 1800 cats and 20 dogs in 4 years.
Rehomed most of the cats and the 20 dogs here & abroad.
TNRd more than 50 dogs & cats in the foster home area and where I live.
Yes, I am so tired, exhausted, and drained sometimes. I collapse from time to time.. but I am happy & proud.
This is Kiwi.
She arrived at our foster home in 2021, and she was 2 years old.
She was rescued by a lady when she was 3 weeks old.
She got bottles feeded, and she stayed with her for 2 years, but for a very personal reason, she had to let her go.
Since she came to our foster home, we have been searching for a forever home for her with no luck.
Kiwi is now suffering from liver disease.
She needs treatments, and she will eat hypatic dry food.
Kiwi needs to live in a separate room now because she can't eat the normal dry food, and since the hepatic dry food is too expensive, we can't take the risk that the other cats eat it with her.
To build a room for it will cost us 5000 EGP, and her monthly food will cost us 2800 EGP.
KIWI needs a sponsor or a kind forever home to take care of her.

He was playing with cats all the time, he ate well, his hair grew again, and he never missed using the littre box.
All he needs is a forever home with love and some patience to be the perfect furry family member.

For the last period, we received so few donations.
We haven't pay the rent for 2 months now.

We had to order food regardless of the financial crisis we are facing.
So we owe the food suppliers a big debt of 6,750 EGP for covering the food for 1 month.
We also had to do neutring & spaying surgeries for new cases.
And eye removing surgery for one of them.
And with the beginning of winter some cats fell sick so we had to treat them.
We also had to fully vaccinate the new cases.
So we now also have lots of debts to 2 clinics.

I have 1 week to get these stray dogs get TNR, or the neighbourhood will call the government to get rid of them.
I talked to them and convinced them that if we tnr them they won't increase and they will take their rabies shot so they won't be dangerous.

Fawzeya is a 10 years old stray dog that has shown recently a tumor in her neck.
The tumor, larynx and part of the trachea were removed, and a sample was taken for analysis.
She under the supervision of a very trust worthy shelter.
Her surgeries and medical care after it costed 9050 egp.
Fawzeya won't be able to go back the street and her life will change 100%.
She will live in the shelter but due to her case she will need to live in a separate room.
So
1st we need to collect the money for surgery & medical care.
2nd we need someone to sponsor her monthly in the shelter (food & medical care)

Do you remember the LIVE I did last month about these kind ladies (Suzy & Dina) in Beverly Hills - Egypt.
They have put these litre boxes as a shelter for the stray cats in winter/summer and water dispensers beside the electricity kiosk in their district.
They got surprised by the Edara removing these shelters & water dispensers after more than 6 monthd. because one resident who is not even in the same district made a complaint.
Now they are doing a petition and they are trying to speak for the animal rights and put back the shelters & the dispensers.

So let me tell you about the cats' happy meal 😋 It's a day after day meal. It is composed of potatoes, sweet potatoes & carrot mixed with 2 cans of Morando soft food. We boil these vegetables, 1.5 kilos if potatoes, 1.5 kilos of sweet potatoes and 0.5 kilos of carrot. We smash them very well with olive oil. Than we open 2 cans of the soft food and mix them with vegetables well. We distribute the mix on separate plates, 2 big spoons in each plate. 51 full plates 😋 Each cat eats 2 big spoons of their happy meal 😻 Reasons why it's a day after day meal: 1. That's what we can afford 2. Because when cats get used to a certain food, they get bored, and they stop eating it. Sometimes we don't have the luxury even to feed them day after day... Sometimes, all we can afford is to feed them the happy meal once every 5 days and sometimes once in a week. When you donate to our foster home, you give these cats a better life. We appreciate your help. And we always have hope that you will help us more and more so we can continue doing what's best for the cats and keep this place opened.
