Max - a 6 year old German Shepherd - rocked his lesson this past week. We took a field trip to Scheels on a Saturday afternoon and forgot it was also State Wrestling weekend. It was packed! Before training with us he had some excitement and anxiety issues in these environments. No whinning - just calm, confident following of his human pack leaders amidst high distractions. No treats, clickers or shock collars needed. Good Job Max!
How do you drain energy when you live in a smaller town and don't have a treadmill? You get creative and use a golf cart. 11 month old Betty - Great Pyrenees/Plott Hound mix - only took a handful of tries before she was running alongside her "dad" like a pro. YAY BETTY!
CoCo Margarita - 5 month old Mini Bernedoodle - building confidence by trying new things on a recent trip to Lowe's with her owners. She's not afraid to try anything! Good Job CoCo!

Willow Rocks Her Stand Command
Willow the 1 1/2 year old Rottweiler shows of her STAND (bracing) command as she assists her owners by helping "dad" out of his chair. Dad currently has some mobility issues but Willow will now be able to assist him when called into action. She even walks with her owner around the house so that he doesn't always have to use his walker for balance all the time. Willow completed her Advanced Obedience training package this past week and did awesome! Definitely broke the stigma that sometimes comes along with this powerful breed. Such a sweetheart and great helper. We are proud of you all!

Isla Mai Conquers Her Uncertainty With Other Dogs
Isla Mai, a nearly 4 year old Border Collie, does a pack walk with another dog at Lake Cunningham! She had not been confident around other dogs and would show teeth, growl and nip at them. On the last day of her lesson package, her training was put to the test and she impressed her owner by being able to walk closely to another dog without reacting. She also had issues with bikes, scooters, roller bladers and skateboards. She has also learned to calmly watch those go by without reacting, lunging or trying to herd them. Successful repititions will be key for her moving forward. She proved it is possible with continued, consistent practice. We are proud of you Isla Mai!
