I have two super sweet and loving Australian Shepard pups left. One female and one male. The girl is the darker one and the boy is the lighter one. Their mom is the smartest and most affectionate dog ever. She is great at herding and protecting. Please message me if you would like one for your home or farm. Tonight under the beautiful full moon we just had the cutest little painted heifer calf. Athena is the Jersey I raised from a bottle baby. Now 2.5 years later she is a mama. Daddy is our mini-jerseys bull Felipe. More pics to come tomorrow but I’m over the moon 🌙 right now. Meet Penny. This has been a much smoother process so far. She and Athena are up and she has had lots of colostrum.

Sorry I haven’t updated in a few weeks. My daughter was in a horrific car accident and I had to go to Colorado.
Unfortunately while I was there Sunflower 🌻 passed peacefully on her own. When I left I had a feeling she wouldn’t be there when I got back. So I fed her, massaged her, and cried with her the night I was waiting for my plane. I hugged her tight and said goodbye. She passed a few days after I got to Colorado. My family here burried her in the front while I was gone and I plan to plant Sunflowers around her burial place.
Cupid Moon Pie is doing great and growing like a w**d. He likes to hide in the w**ds and I have to look for him. And so life goes on.

Just a little friend 🐍 visiting the avocado tree. Black racers are so important for rodent control. Kessen has always been afraid of snakes but has come a long way. One time many years ago he killed a huge black rat snake out of fear. Then the place we were at became overrun with roof rats. I told him see that’s why you don’t kill snakes. That snake was keeping the rat population down. He hasn’t killed one since. I love that he was willing to learn and change. I always thank these guys when I see them and welcome them to my house and garden.

If you look closely you can see the heart beating. This never gets old.

So I don’t have the best update on our first calving at the farm. Sunflower got what’s called calving paralysis. So while her baby Cupid born 2/14 is doing great she is not. 😞 She has been down and can’t get up for those of you who don’t know what this means. Recovery can be a very long process. The vet has come and given her steroids and Multimen. I’ve given B shots. We did try IV calcium first for a more common condition called milk fever which is an easy fix. Unfortunately that is not what she had. For now we are moving her side to side and massaging her. It will just depend on how she does and we are not sure if she will recover or not. So I’m requesting prayers, good healing energy, whatever you can send our way. If anyone has health with this you can share your story if you want.

These babies were born toddlers. They are already moving around everywhere 😱
