The oldest member of the GSD pack is much happier now that she got a lengthy bath and massage yesterday. Lol
Her kennel boundary and down-stay are good. We'll work on improving the heel, today.

This girl stops twitching when she's learning... and gains confidence when she implements her new skills. Day 2: kennel boundary respected, walking nicely on leash, and getting that down stay under way-- what she is most proud of was learning stairs. This was a challenge for both of us, since she lacked trust and self confidence; however, we went up and down all of them, together, without acrobats and base jumping off the landing (LQQKOUT Batman).
Now to nail a 30-minute downstay like her brother just did. What a good girl!!

Rescuing dogs since 2005, and rehabilitating/saving, through proper training and handling, this boy has been the best rescue pet yet.

Bentley, nicknamed B-Bug, courtesy of one of his favorite humans, Kaila Miller, had quite a list of admirers, from his vet and staff, to his groomers, and everyone in between.

Bentley and I shared a similar past... we were both set up for failure. Together we overcame this setback, as we learned and grew. His success is why I continue on the journey with a passion to help as many humans wanting a similar relationship/outcome with their dog.

This furbaby never stopped giving his all; he was always the bestest boy-- and the greatest family member, ever!
I am forever grateful to have been this boy's dog mom, trainer, and handler. Rest easy and...
Run free, you sweet, sweet soul! 🐾💕

Working breeds thrive with jobs... this Border Collie reminds me of my Mila (Border Collie/Australian Shepherd).

Sharing a friend's post: Please consider these words of wisdom.

You’re not doing your dog any favors by treating them like your child!

I may not be a dog trainer anymore but I can still be a responsible dog owner. Ronin gets nervous at the vet like so many other dogs. Instead of encouraging the behavior we do agility on the furniture in the waiting room, practice our obedience while we wait and retrieval the whole time.

Please train your dogs. Or if you need help I can find a trainer for you. There are so many dogs that would benefit greatly from just a little obedience training.

Let your dogs be dogs, peeps. That's all

I like to share this post every year or so. It always seems to be something folks are struggling with. SA is often unintentionally created, and often done so with good intentions but poor understanding.

•Pet your dog, all the time
•Talk to your dog, all the time
•Allow your dog to follow you, all the time
•Allow your dog to be on your lap or laying on your feet, all the time
•Pet, soothe, comfort your dog when it whines or barks for attention...or is simply anxious
•Allow your dog to demand affection/interactions
•Be emotionally dependent on your dog
•Allow your dog to do whatever it wants, whenever it wants
•Provide no structure or rules
•Refuse to crate train your dog
•Refuse to correct your dog when inappropriate behavior occurs
•Refuse to train your dog to be calm, relaxed, and independent by using a “Place” command, and/or “away” time in the crate
•Allow you and your home to be a free-for-all, where your dog has zero leadership and guidance
•Let your dog out of the crate when it whines or barks
•Avoid training or anything that makes your dog uncomfortable or unhappy
•And many, many more...

Basically, baby, soothe, allow, enable, lean on, and create a toxic dependency...so when you leave, your dog is a mess, because you haven’t prepared them to be strong, resilient, robust, independent, and alone.
