We’ve had some people say that using MSM (mechanically separated meat) in dog food is totally fine. After all, it’s just a cheap protein source, right?

🐶 Are WE to blame for dogs being fussy eaters?

I was talking with a fellow dog owner in the office, who said that if your dog is picky with food, it’s because we made them that way! 😬

Maybe we’re too quick to give in when they turn their noses up at their bowl or we’re offering too many treats and table scraps. Sound familiar? 😅

It got me thinking…
🤔 Are dogs naturally fussy, or are we creating picky pups by catering to their every whim?
💭 Is it all about training, or are some dogs just fussier than others?

Personally, I know I’ve been guilty of spoiling my dog when they refuse to eat, but I’d love to hear what you think!

So, I was chatting with a friend yesterday, and she was horrified to learn that I let my dog lick my face. 😬 She told me it’s a big no-no because of all the bacteria, and I should definitely stop!

Now, I know some people think it’s unhygienic, but honestly… I can’t resist those puppy kisses! 😍🐾 It’s just one of those ways my dog shows affection, and I don’t mind it at all. But maybe I’m in the minority?

🐶What do you think, is she right? 🐶

Yesterday, someone left a pretty intense comment on one of our social posts, saying that feeding dogs meat is totally unnecessary – and that ALL dogs should be on a vegan or vegetarian diet!🥦👀 They even said, “You may as well feed your dog grass!” 🌱

😳 They’re convinced that dogs don’t need meat at all and demanded we stop offering our meat-based meals altogether.

So what do you think?
⛈️ Is a vegan or vegetarian diet really better for our dogs?
😟Are we doing more harm than good by giving them meat?
🤔Should Years start offering a plant-based option for those who want it?

Personally, I still give my dog meat because I believe they need those essential nutrients to stay healthy. But maybe I’m wrong? 🤷‍♀️

The face of an angel you say? 👀😇 WELL, let me tell you what happened yesterday…

Hi I’m Amy- for those who don’t know, I’m the head of our socials team at Years. Enough about me…

This is Bingo, a 3 month old Newfypoo. Bingo is extra curly, and this means things get stuck in his fur… A LOT.

So, currently I have the WORST flu (but not getting any sympathy from my partner) and decided that I’d join my partner taking the boys for a walk (we have two newfypoos). I decided to hold Bingo.

We were happily strolling along, got 2 meters down the road when bingo stopped skipping and decided to crouch down. He seemed to be twerking and people walking past were staring, so I just waved smiled and did the whole “bless him aye?!”

After what felt like an hour, I thought he was done but no the poor boy just decided to face the opposite direction and stare his brother dead in the eye whilst liquid lava was coming out of him (blame his nanny for feeding him too many treats👀)

Eventually he stopped, but then he kept sitting down, like he has a breeze go where he didn’t want the breeze to go. I heard from a TikTok a vet actually diagnosed a dog with “breezy bumh*le”. Anyway, he kept sitting down so I looked at his bum and of course there was a massive poo splatter on him and let’s just say the white bit on his fur was no longer white.

My partner decided to carry on with the rest of the walk whilst I sprinted home (2m away) and my neighbour tried to talk to me and usher Bingo to him so I had to reply with “sorry he has sh*t all over him” and he looked disgusted but hey, I was in a panic.

I rushed Bingo in the bath (which he hates) and to my surprise, there was an actual log which got tangled in his fur under his tail. 🪵💩 so I got a brush and it flicked out and there was a log staring at me in the bath.

So yeah. How was your day? Got any embarrasing stories to share to make me feel better?

Alright, time to settle a debate!- Who do you agree with?🧀🐶

Amy here - So, confession time… I give my dog a little cheese treat once a week. Just a small bit, but recently a friend told me I should stop because it’s not good for them. 😬

Now, I know too much cheese can be high in fat, which could lead to weight gain, or cause tummy troubles (we all know how sensitive some dogs can be! 🐾). But it’s just a tiny treat – and my dog loves it! 😍

Honestly, I just want to treat my dog because their lives are so much shorter than ours, but now I’m questioning myself…

Should I stop giving my dog cheese, even in small amounts? Or is the occasional treat OK?🤷‍♀️
