Hi my name is Fernando! (Aka Fernie)
Before I jump into my current state, you may be asking “Hey Fernie, why do you you those hot wheels??”
Back in January 2021, I was hit by a car in Catemaco, Mexico. That hurt and was no fun. I then rolled into a ditch off the side of the highway and waited for a few days...I was scared but lucky it was raining so I had water to keep me going. Some nice humans found me (that was a big woohoooy moment for me!) took to the Flying Dogs Canada refuge in Catemaco, where they helped take care of me.
Present day is even better for me now. I got a chair recently…. So now my hot wheels let me feel like I am walking normally again.
News got even better for me when Foster mom and Dad took me to a vet specialist. After all the assessments, I heard some very sweet words from that vet “you know what buddy...you may be able to gain some of your mobility back again! It’s going to take sometime and some effort but it is not a write off.” (Sure I don’t know Hooman language very well but I do know smiles...and I knew it was a good sign when everyone me started smiling and giving me scratches).
So here I am, on my journey to gain some mobility back. Even if I’m never 100% again, being able to stay on this Earth everyday is a blessing in itself. I’m a deep lover to all humans and dogs/cats.
This all doesn’t come at a cost though to the rescue - so if you’d want to help sponsor my journey in anyway I’d really appreciate it...it won’t go to waste!
To donate/sponsor to Fernando’s fight to gain some of his mobility and freedom back...
