Busy weekend for pants.

Saturday we went on our first solo hack in ages. He was very good until we went past the football pitches where there was several games in progress, lots of shouting and screaming and he didn’t really know what to do. After a few minutes we got past and carried on.

Sunday another hack but this time in company. Went past the diary farm and across the field. Elodie then came up in the evening to help put him to bed and of course have a sit 🥰

Today a quick a schooling session under the watchful eye of the boss 😂 practising our BRC online dressage test before we film that.

We had a lovely hack this weekend with our new friends Mitch & Barney.

Went out for an hour and half. Found some new fields and had a couple lovely canters as they ground was absolutely perfect.

Pants is being super lately. Been leading all the hacks and being super brave 🥰

Treated him to the new magnetic rug from Equilibrium Products so I’m very excited to see how it helps him.

He had physio today with the lovely Dee Hawkesworth so he’s feeling like a new man again. She also helped attach the magnets where he needs them most to really maximise the benefits.

Yesterday we rode in the outdoor arena and today we went indoors.

Not going to lie I’m really looking forward to having the indoor in winter so I can ride in all weathers.

Pants has seen me 5 times in 3 days. More than he usually would in two weeks. Not sure he’s happy about it 😂 but one thing he is happy about is his field and new friends. So pleased with how wel he’s settled.

He will be living out for the next month as long as the weather doesn’t turn awful. Enjoying life as a horse. He doesn’t mind being stabled but he definitely prefers being outside.

Sad day yesterday. We left P Russell Equestrian amazing yard this morning. I’ve had the best 15 months there and been very privileged to have been able to have him on full livery whilst I was pregnant and Elodie was tiny. He peed in his feed bucket as a final goodbye 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

But I wanted him closer to home so I can ride more as he will be much closer.

Safe to say he’s pretty happy in his 7 acre field 😍 hope I can catch him later 😂

Hi all,

Figured it’s about time I actually made a page for Pants. We have our Instagram account adventures_of_smartie_pants that has been active since I got him in March 2020 so feel free to add us there.

So Smartie Pants, or Pants as he more commonly known, is a 6 year old Connemara X Irish sports horse. I’ve had him since March 2020 after I lost my old boy who I had owned for almost 25 years. So pants has big boots to fill.

We’ve taken it slowly with him. He’s been out to dressage, showjumping and cross country. Jumping is most definitely his favourite thing in the world 🥰 last year not much happened as I was pregnant so he had a nice easy year just continuing his schooling and education with my incredible sharer Emily.

This page will document our journey as we hopefully progress.
