Friends - these are the last 4 foster kitties in one of our foster homes - they have been there for 6 months and the foster is needing to move them into forever homes sooner rather than later due to some health and family needs that have recently come up.

They are all young females - fully vetted, beautiful, friendly, good with people and other cats - it is essential that we find them good forever homes soon.

Please share and tell all your friends - there is no reason these sweet babies have been overlooked except that they are black or tabby, and they were little during the kitten glut last summer.

Now they are six months old - except for the one retired mama kitty who is about two - still young, playful and so very loving - they are wonderful companion animals!

Their foster cannot open her home again to rescues until they are all placed and she can catch up on some urgent health and family priorities.

If you know anyone who could give these precious girls a home, please send them our way ASAP!

Despite what you see in cartoons and other forms of media, milk is NOT good for cats. Surprised?

Much to the disappointment of dairy-loving felines,😿most cats develop lactose intolerance as they mature.

Like all mammals, kittens start life nursing from their mothers. During this time, their bodies produce plenty of lactase, the enzyme needed to break down lactose (the natural sugar in milk). But once kittens are weaned, usually around 8 weeks old, their production of lactase drops off significantly. And after the first year of life, the enzyme is no longer produced in most cats. Without lactase, cats can’t properly digest dairy. When a lactose-intolerant cat consumes milk or other high-lactose foods, the undigested sugars pull water into the intestines, often resulting in diarrhea. The undigested lactose can also ferment in the colon, causing stomach upset, and may even reduce the digestibility of protein in their overall diet.

Common signs of lactose intolerance in cats include:
🙀 Diarrhea
🙀Gas
🙀 Bloating
🙀 Stomach discomfort or pain
🙀 Vomiting

Do your feline friends a favor, don't feed them milk. 😽

Samwise went home today with his wonderful new family and a kitty sister!

He even has a fancy new full name: The Reverend Dr. Moon Broth Samwise!
