2 years ago my sister died. She was a super fan of the DDB. at her death, she had 3 ddb and a nearly 11 y/o son. I already had 6 bassets at home and was able to get a friend of ours to take in her largest one, a boy named Tank (or Biggie). This week we found out that (at 7 y/o) he has developed prostate cancer and may not reach the end of the year. I was able to take my nephew (I inherited him too) down to see his pooch for what could be the last time (we will try to make it down as many times as possible this summer, it’s a 2 hour drive through one of the most dangerous canyons in Utah).

Finally got around to putting some collars on some puppies to try to differentiate them. The first litter of Basset Hounds and the Basset Bordeaux are starting to walk. Even caught a couple of them trying to sneak food from their mama’s bowl last night. Still taking deposits on these little ones.
For reference, there are 4 red/white that have a red, orange, yellow and green collar in the first photo. Those are pure bred basset hounds. They are 3 weeks (yesterday). The pure red pups in the rest of the photos are Basset Hound x Dogue de Bordeaux. There are some tricolor and more red/white in the big group photo that are also purebred Basset Hounds (AKC) that will be 3 weeks on Friday the 9th.

Someone just asked me if I knew anyone wanting a young unaltered male basset. He’s coming out of a bad situation and I unfortunately have too many right now, and I believe the local rescue is full and having trouble with placements. Close to SLC, UT.

2nd update: Woody is back with me. He has severe separation anxiety and barked all day when his human was gone. He really needs someone who can be with him all day or can let him run around. He hasn’t had any potty accidents with me, he knows how to use the doggy door. PM me if you’re near SLC.

Update: Woody is staying with his son from last year. Will see how it works out.

Update on Woody. He slept in bed with me last night after finding his position around me along with both of his parents (Freya and Odin). He did pretty well and it looks like he’s pretty well potty trained. Will make someone pretty happy as he’s a lap dog and doesn’t seem to lick a lot. The current family wants $500 (which is half what she paid me 2 years ago before inflation hit) so this is a pretty good deal for an AKC registered unaltered male.

So one of our boys from our very first litter, Dec 2019, came back to me tonight. I’m looking for a furever family for this cool dog Woody. He is unaltered. Let me know if anyone is interested in this cute dog. He’s a tricolor.

Lilith the Dogue

Just wanted you all to know that along with my 3 basset hound females, I also have a Dogue de Bordeaux that I inherited from my late sister, Charlie Ayala. Lilith is probably going into heat right now, so in 9-10 weeks I may have a birth announcement!

Deposits for hounds are $200, for dogues they are $300. If deposits are made before birth, they are refundable within 2 weeks following birth.

Lulu is officially a year old. She was one of the miracle 3. Freya had 5 of her 8 with no problems. She had an emergency c-section for the final 3, all born healthy. Lulu was kept by myself and will have a litter probably next year.

8 beautiful puppies after a much needed bath! 6 weeks today, ready for their new homes in two weeks. First set of shots, vet check and regular deworming. FYI, pups are only 82% basset hound, but their ears are going to be long. Some Mahogany and white, a couple red and white.

Beñji had puppy therapy last night and it went well. Will continue for 4 weeks, then the little therapists will be ready for their furever homes.

Puppies are 2-1/2 weeks, and I just gave them their first dose of Pyrantel (dewormer), which they liked. They all have cute collars on now, so I can tell them apart, with breakaway buckles. Ready to go home around Nov 17th. 5 girls, 3 boys. These guys will have spay/neuter contracts.

My baby sister passed away 2 weeks ago today. I inherited 5 more dogs, not basset hounds. I'm already over the city limit with my hounds and I'm trying to rehome a few of them. My sister, Chari, bred Dogue de Bordeaux's until she became unwell. She had 3, and I found a furever home for her oldest. She has two more females, one that is ready for breeding and the other who was sterile, with different lines. She also had a 9 month old Bull Terrier female that she was going to try breeding with. She just had her first heat, so in 5-6 months she will have her next heat. I'd be interested in guardianship for any of them, as her son would still like to visit, if possible. I would also consider a rehoming fee for the breedable ones.
With a guardianship, I would expect 3 litters and outside of the last 3 weeks of her pregnancy, and 8 weeks with her pups, as well as when she is bred, the rest of the time would be with her guardian home and after her 3rd litter or necessary spay, she would belong to her guardian (furever) family.
The first 4 pictures are of Frankie, the bull terrier. The last two are of Lilith (Lily). I have AKC for all of them. The third, Boots, is 3-4 years old. I'll add her picture when i take or find one.

So Freya’s last litter was born last Thursday-Friday, Dec 17-18th. She was forced to have a c-section for the final 3 and to prevent the risk of sepsis, she was Spayed. All puppies survived, however, so that was so much better than what could have happened. We were blessed with 7 females and 1 male. 3 tri females, 1 tri male, and 4 female red and whites. I am taking deposits now. We will wait until 3-4 weeks old to allow choices to be made. Mom and dad shown below.
