Just want to say thank you to everyone that has supported me, reassured me, defended me, those that have checked in on me, even all the strangers coming forward to support me.

This last few months has been the most difficult time of my life, to add to that this last week I’ve been called unhinged, cuckoo, so mentally unstable that I don’t deserve any dog. Lies that I neglected / abused my 2 boys, that they were broken souls, and everything else that’s been done. It’s been too much, but the support has kept me going

I may never get them back but I won’t stop fighting and I won’t stop raising awareness of who these ‘rescue charity’ people really are and what they are capable of!

ATTENTION
We received this yesterday from a friend of the original poster who has posted a status tagging almost 50 people in it calling Jo Cuckoo and failing to give the full story
THIS PERSON HAS NEVER MET THE DOGS
A lot of people had their comments replied to in an aggressive manner
We have been informed she’s doing it again today and I would recommend that people read all the information available within this page before making accusations that are untrue
I don’t blame those who commented yesterday without knowing the whole story, this inflammatory post served its purpose with a minority and I appreciate those that entered into a civilised dialogue

Possibly accidentally although it’s still there 🤷🏻‍♀️
HMRC state you cannot claim GIFTAID where there is no choice about a donation amount eg a fee
All dogs have a set price / fee / donation
In Kathy’s words ‘ we can’t but we do’

Because in YOUR WORDS you SHOULD NOT be claiming GiftAid (Pic 2)

Your PUBLIC accounts that were finalised in August 2020 and are available for anyone to view on the charities commission website state something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! (Pic 3)

Also £10,000 security system?

Wow just wow!!!! How can a rescue justify a price tag of £1200? Cheaper to get one from a breeder…..
Seriously we ask again Charity? Rescue? Business? You do the maths 😡 (think of the gift aid on this specified donation too)

Donation ?!! If the amount is stated that’s not a donation that’s a fee!

Even send 7 month old pups to homes with entire males to end up being mated, giving birth at 9 months old and delivering 7 pups . And you call yourself responsible rescue charity????

So as well as Kathy Trout, owner and director of West Yorkshire dog rescue publicly admitting on last nights post they are fraudulently claiming Gift Aid which isn’t only fraud but tax avoidance - see attached

We now have Isobel laughing at all of our posts.
Which part do you find funny? My mother dying of cancer? My mental state when your mother Leila took the dogs? Or the self confessed fraudulent activity of the rescue she volunteers for?
We appreciate your naivety in this situation Isobel and don’t hold you personally to blame, but maybe your mother should comment with one of her many profiles rather than hiding behind her daughter?

I lost my mother to cancer at the end October
I then made a dreadful decision, which I massively regret, to re home my dogs as I didn’t feel I couldn’t give them to attention they needed during that time. I know some people will say I deserve what’s happening now but until you are in that situation you do not know how it will effect you

West Yorkshire Dog Rescue contacted me and assured me the dogs would stay together and that I would be kept up to date. The time from contacting me to collection was only a few hours. I was not left with paperwork

I knew immediately I’d made a mistake but tried to convince myself it was the best for my boys, after the funeral and getting support I knew I needed to get them back

The foster carer told me they were still with her but that a good friend of her manager was viewing them the week after - pic 1
I contacted the owner of the charity immediately to ask for them back before they were adopted and provided all circumstance details
I was told I would have to wait till 10th of Jan, which I did, continuing to feel worse and worse but hoping they would return

I received an email on the 10th saying I wasn’t getting them back and threatened with the police. Ive since found reviews online stating the same threats of police has been happening to people since 2014
There is no option to leave a review in the page. Anyone that has commented asking about my boys has been blocked from commenting and their comments deleted
There is no way to tag the page either

I believe they have not been given back as one has been adopted in the West Yorkshire area AFTER I asked for him not to be while they dealt with my complaint and she asked me to wait till 10th Jan, and one is still in the North East with a foster carer, despite their website saying foster carers need to be in the West Yorkshire area

People have raised concerns at pricing of the adoption costs compared with many other local and National rescues. Also each dog is priced differently with no relation to their age or health status

The charity states on their website they will only take small dogs. There are no kennels. All dogs are put with voluntary foster carers.
The charity has been granted a £350k interest free loan to buy a rental property, despite it only generating £8k per year (companies house)
While other rescues are shouting for support, having the costs of running kennels, with much bigger digs as they aren’t selective with who they will ‘help, it seems unfair that a charity is awarded £350k interest free charity loan when it could be used for so much more good to help dogs at rescues across the country

The law states I’ve signed them over. I’m appealing to them and you to help me get them back, all communication from me and many others has been censored.
The behavior of the owner has been recorded by many people over the last 9 years
I have been advised by citizens advice to make this all public. To get media involved
To do that I need to make this a big story and I need your help by following, sharing and spreading awareness of what is happening here!

I made a terrible mistake that I’ll regret for the rest of my life, but PLEASE don’t let this happen to anyone else!

Rush within hours to take dogs, so many reviews where people have asked for them back after a couple of hours to be told no.

Why does every dog have a different price tag???? If the amount is stated, its a SALE not a donation.

Most of these dogs are 6-10 years , other charities put dogs in long term foster care and fund medication for the dogs lifetime, why does WYDR charge extortionate sale fees, then expect the new owner to fund the illness???

Thanks for your support everyone, I’m not gonna lie it’s absolutely killing me having to do this

I’ve been advised by a lot of professional agencies to make as much noise as possible about them if they refuse to discuss it, charities aren’t regulated like businesses so can get away with things I wouldn’t have expected 😔

Please keep sharing, tagging and inviting people to the page the more backing we have the more they need to take notice!

I find it strange that a day after the negative reviews were posted on here and the West Yorkshire Dog Rescue page, a new one appears, a whole 2.5 years after the last, completely praising the the rescue and disagreeing with all other negative reviews, how very strange

Even stranger still is that the reviewer is named YorkieGirl1963 and Jane Brennan, a DIRECTOR at the rescue and Kathy’s colleague is a Yorkshire terrier loving Yorkshire girl, born in 1963

Please help me get my babies back 💙🐾😪

I lost my mam to cancer at the end of October

The week after this, in a moment of grief & overwhelm I made a stupid decision I thought was right for my boys in that moment to give them up as I felt I couldn’t give them what they needed, but deeply regretted it soon after.

I have tried to get them back and the owner of the rescue has refused to give me reason the dogs cannot be returned and threatened me with police action if I contact her again despite all of my contact being fair

I’ve found reviews for the rescue online that say the owner has done the same to them and being doing this for at least 8-9 years

Any comments or posts on the rescue page have been deleted and people blocked from commenting. There is also no review section which rings Alarm bells.

Please share this post and tag your friends and family or anyone you think might be able to help me

Just to add-

The day they came to get the dogs i never mentioned my mum dying but that I was going back to the office in a couple of weeks. I spoke with them 10am and they came at my request 15:30pm to collect them… Kathy rang me after the lady LEILA who adopted them came and I vaguely remember that conversation my head was all over as they’d just literally left, I may have mentioned it then I dunno. But when I was messaging days after to check how they were I mentioned that it was my mothers funeral the next day and it made me happy to see them doing so well.. what I had just disclosed them was never acknowledged or even asked was I sure then this was the right thing to do. I have all the proofs of that too xx

How I came into contact with them was I posted an advert on pets at home looking for home for them and I didn’t want any money for them but to find the best home, the system wouldn’t allow me to put zero or free so I had to choose a sum so I chose £10 but in my description I said I didn’t want anything. West Yorkshire rescue have POUND PULLERS on these site and a lady called Sue contacted me recommending West Yorkshire so I had a look at them and they sounded great. Now she’s using that against me saying the dogs were at risk.. I would never have handed them over to ANYONE… they also claim coco was an ex stud dog he’s had 2 litters and the one recently was a favour for a friend so hardly an ex stud dog, they claim JAX was a lock down pup and he was bought 6 months before covid existed. The proofs have been sent to squash this too!
