This sweet unneutered b&w male GSP was captured today (2/13) at 10:15 am in Fairfield.
He is with an officer and is on his way to NUVAS.

Thank you to everyone who came together to help capture these pups. A very special thank you to Dawn Gagnard, Heidi Brunner and her husband , and to Jax Shelton and his wife for coming together and helping to get this result. 🙏🏼

Thank you Greg Holbrook and Brandi Buys for helping with some of the connections.

This pup was the 4th GSP found in the Fairfield area around the same time and that appear to be related.
Others have been captured by people who were able to calmly lure them, but this pup was very skittish and would not go to anyone. Even if he started to trust someone, he would get spooked and take off.

Just a heads up that I am still occasionally helping on some cases, but I am unable to leave a 10 mile radius of the Sugarhouse area for a few months.

I am able to help in Park City as I frequent the area for work.

From our fellow trappers in Idaho.

Trappers see a different side to loose dogs. Not all dogs getting seen for long periods of time or in rural areas are dumped.
Please do not assume this is the case.
Lost dogs can travel far for various reasons.

Imagine… you lose your pet.

Where is the FIRST place you look and call?
- I would call my local shelter. Wouldn’t you?

Now imagine… someone holding your dog or turning it over to a rescue that you have zero idea even exists.
You don’t have Facebook, or don’t know about the lost pet pages…. But you do know how to find and check the shelter.

Please quit holding animals or giving them to people to hold. Check for a microchip and if they don’t have one - get them to the local Humane Society so they can be added to the found websites that owners desperately search for their pets.

OWNERS CHECK THE SHELTER.

Dan had gone missing from his fosters family home. He was not familiar with the area and he was very shy when approached. If you were a child he would follow but still unable to be caught.
Trusted Trappers were able to get some traps set, he would go in but not far enough. I would throw him chicken, here and there and then he started to realize I was the treat lady!

I started using calming methods and he started to whine and would follow me. I finally said “so you want to go for a ride?” I opened the back door to the car and left a trail of some chicken. Turned away and he jumped in the car.

Try different things using calming methods might help with a lost or stray animal!

Thank you CAWS for reaching out and so glad we were able to get him back to his foster home safely!

⭐️UPDATE⭐️
BEAR, the male, has been FOUND.
SEDONA, the female, is STILL MISSING.

Bear was found by someone who was driving on the highway near the entrance to American Fork Canyon.
He has been to the vet and is now home with his family and is recovering. He lost 30% of his body weight and is slowly eating again.
He will be ok. 🙏🏼

Missing Poodles
Highland, Utah

Bear - male, dark brown, approx 50 lbs
Sedona - female, red, approx 40 lbs

These pups escaped from their backyard Wednesday 12/08/21.

Sedona was wearing a blue collar, Bear was not wearing a collar.
They are chipped.
The picture of them standing next to each other was taken just hours before they escaped their yard on 12/08.

Some obvious clues if you think you have seen them are that Sedona is visibly nursing and Bear is not neutered.

We are coaching the family and they have fluorescent posters out.
There have been some sightings coming in, but not very many that are 100% confirmed.
If you think you have seen them, it is important to note whether they were walking or running, which direction they were going, and whether or not they were together.

They are skittish and have been running when approached or called out to.

Please check ring cameras, when in flight mode, dogs can be on the move at night time, even in cold/inclement weather.
Please do not chase, but try to keep eyes on them and call the number below.

Thank you! 🙏🏼

This sweet girl found herself lost at the Meadowbrook Golf Course in Taylorsville, residents would comment that they have been seeing her for a few weeks. She was a happy girl, rolling on her back at times enjoying the time at golf course. People were feeding her and trying to make friends, but she wouldn't have it.
A friend, Dede Rask Minardi that volunteers with CAWS (Community Animal Welfare Society) was one of the people caring for this lost soul. On Wednesday, July 28th, we set up some traps, she would eat the bait, but would not go all the way in. Dede was fabulous at checking the traps, around 4am, Thursday, July 29th, Dede was checking the traps.. and there she was, inside the trap!
We were able to safely get her to the West Valley Shelter where she will do her stray time. She was not microchipped and she is maybe around a year old. Beautiful scruffy girl, just scared... but, the promise is, she has shelter and she will never have to worry about where her next meal comes from. Shoot for the stars little lady... it's all good news from here.

Kaija asked Trusted Trappers for assistance with getting this cattle dog that was visiting her parents home for about a month.

We were able to humanely trap this sweet boy around 12:30 am on the early morning of Friday, July 2nd.

He currently is at the West Valley Shelter doing his stray time. Hoping he will be reunited with his family.

We at Trusted Trappers are happy to be part of helping a dog get safely off the street.

🌟SPIKE IS FOUND AND SAFE!🌟

Spike escaped his yard on Christmas morning, 2020.
We started helping with traps on December 28 after multiple sightings ranging from the Hogle Zoo area to Canyon rim.
Animal control helped try to capture him but was unsuccessful.
He finally settled in a neighborhood just south of REI on 3300 South.
With the help of volunteers and wonderful people in this neighborhood, we were able to get information from Ring and Nest cameras and people out and about in the neighborhood.
We had a couple of traps set up that he decided he did not want to go into. Spike had been trapped once before and so we knew we might not get him in the same trap so we had to set up a bigger trap called a Missy Trap.
We had this all set up (it takes about 2 hours!) and now we were just waiting for him to show up to that location again as he had been seen multiple nights on camera in this yard.
We had a map of all of the sightings that we had throughout the last two weeks and were figuring out his route.
Today, while in the neighborhood handing out fliers to volunteers, we received a call from someone who had gotten one of our fliers on his front door. He was walking in his neighborhood and saw Spike huddled in a front yard against a cement wall. He immediately recognized him and ran to the nearest flier in the area to call the number.

We were only three minutes away so this was perfect timing.

There were three of us that gently tried to secure him but he quickly scaled a 3 foot cement wall. He went about a half block, not running fast, but trotting, and then went into a backyard, which he promptly escaped. He went into a neighbor’s backyard that had a 5 foot fence, we were not sure what he was going to do.
We had quickly secured the two side entrances to that backyard.
He appeared too tired to scale the fence.
The man who gave us the tip was with us in the backyard and was able to get him slowly near the house in a secure corner. We had some food with us and a leash to secure him while we waited for the snappy snare to show up.

That awesome gentleman had to leave so I waited for Maryjo to get there and we were able to get him safely into a crate.
We captured him after 17 days on the run at approximately 3100 E. and about 3800 S. at 4:40 PM

He is on his way back to Nuzzles Ranch, now, if he is not already there, and they have a vet on duty tonight that will make sure he is ok. 🐾🐾

We did not do this alone, we want to say thank you to the many people who helped with Spike, some who worked tirelessly all day/night to refresh the traps with hot food.
We apologize if we are forgetting anyone, there were so many people that helped.
