This afternoon, Quintin ran another polymer clay workshop - this time it was an open workshop where you could make Christmas themed objects, or things for last minute Christmas gifts or your own project idea :)
We will be offering the same workshop on Friday afternoon this week, at the Cam Rise Uniting Church building - 1pm to 3pm

This morning, we had a terrarium (open) making workshop at the Wynyard Showground Reception Hall
Everyone's creations looked amazing! Well done to all who came today - your terrariums are certainly going to be a talking point!

We will be holding a closed terrarium workshop next year, as well as a kokedama (Japanese for moss ball) workshop - keep an eye out for dates for these :)

We had our Tai Chi for Arthritis with Rohan in the Burnie Park yesterday afternoon.
It was a gorgeous day with a light breeze and everyone enjoyed the experience of being outdoors for the session :)

Next week, we will be back at the Cam Rise Uniting Church for the tai chi sessions
1pm to 2pm - experienced
2pm - 3pm - beginners

but during January, we will again enjoy tai chi outdoors while Cam Rise has some work done - we look forward to that! :)

On Friday afternoon, we will be holding the Tai Chi for Arthritis session in the Burnie Park - beginners and experienced together.
The change from the usual venue is due to it being used for a Christmas function but, if the Friday session is a success and everyone enjoys it, we might continue in the park during the warmer weather.

Today, we held our last Saturday Sewing Session for the year - we offered Christmas fabrics for our guests to make an apron or decorations, but the majority of the class chose to work on their own projects, mostly things which will be given as Christmas gifts or used at Christmas (toy sacks)

Our group were a lot of fun, with lots of conversation and laughter and sharing of sewing tips with each other.
Well done everyone and thankyou for coming along today.

As always, a huge thanks goes to our wonderful teacher Lyn Grey and to our fabulous mentors for the day - Sharon Busscher and Rosalie Martin. Thankyou all for your patience and fantastic support for our guests

We had a fun afternoon with our friends from Umina Park and Synovum Care - making a folded book page Santa :)

Deb Butterworth (Umina Park) kindly ran the activity for the group and everyone really enjoyed themselves - thankyou Deb!!

This amazing haunted house was made by our friend, Marilyn!
Marilyn uses found or recycled items to make her creations - this house is made from cardboard, with some decorations (tombstones and skulls) made with air drying clay.

And Marilyn has agreed to run a workshop for us next year, to make a bush/beach shack out of recycled/found items. Maybe over time, we can build up to a haunted house like the one in the pics. :)

This house has found its home with a young girl, who likes all things gothic :)

This morning, we had a wreath making workshop with Kristal - using dodder vine, native flowers and plants and flowers from Marilyn and Charmaine's gardens, pinecones donated by Rachel Limbrick and some Christmas decorations.
Everyone's wreaths looked amazing!

Rachel took some of the donated supplies home to sort and created several items from scraps - envelopes, mini pads, pocket inserts, journal pages and page corner book marks to name a few :) Rachel also made some fancy edge decorations by using the zig zag stitch on the sewing machine, minus thread - it looks great! video credit: Rachel Lee
