If your dog tends to bolt out the door or gate the moment that it opens this is a great skill to learn and practice both for manners and safety.
This is the time of year to get out walking, swimming, hiking and exploring with your dog. If these are things that you enjoy doing but are hard to do with your best four legged friend due to:
* pulling
* over enthusiastic greeting behavior
* reactivity
* barking .then mark your calendars for Thursday evenings.
Julia Shaw Training will be offering four pop up training workshops on Thursday evenings in August focusing on helping you and your dog confidently get outside and have some fun.
Training will begin indoors to make sure you have the focus and attention they you need from your dog them progress outdoors and into new environments either as a group or one on one.
You can attend one workshop or all four but space is limited so preregistration is required. For information or to register text 413-824-9904 or email [email protected]

The first printing of Not Your Basic Witch, written by youth author Kyla Ramos, will be available for sale Saturday at the Winter Festival and Craft Fair.
Tonights teams (we were missing team Labrador but they will be joining next week) went head to head on the connect 4 board with plenty of good natured competition. Cards from each category were chosen and teams practiced and trained the exercises before presenting it successfully to the group in order to make their move on the game board. A certain cute corgi wasnt able to master the ’high 5’ challenge (we are blaming the lack of legs 😉) but she didn’t seem to mind. Challenges chosen were: Obedience- recall, down with stay, look/attention. Social exercises: sitting/standing politely for brushing, walking easily through a group. Tricks - crawl, roll over, high 5, weave.
