Bunny Care Sheet

We highly recommend NO fruits or vegetables until after 6 months of age. Rabbits guts are very sensitive and anything new can shock the gut and can kill your bunny.

Your rabbit(s) need fresh food, water, and hay every day.

>If your rabbit(s) are outside they need shelter to get out of the weather.

>Your rabbits need fresh bedding. Clean cages at least once a week or when needed.

>Cage size must be no smaller then 24x24inches for dwarf breeds and bigger breeds (more than 5pounds) 38x17in or bigger.

>Rabbits need chew toys (wooden) no string on them. Rabbits teeth grow none stop so chew toys helps them keep them at a good length. NO, you don’t half to cut your rabbits teeth unless it is a medical reason. They also need a mineral and salt wheel too.

Bedding:
Rabbits CAN NOT use cedar! They can use kiln dried pine shavings/chips or care fresh bedding.

Litter box training is easy.
Put a litter box with some bedding in their cage in the corner where they go to the bathroom and then put some of their poo in the litter box. Start litter box training asap better if u get them used to a litter box as a baby.( DO NOT USE KITTY LITTER in their box. I prefer the pine bedding pellets) If your rabbit is on wire they need a cage rest.

Feeding/watering your rabbits:
Get a bowl and feed your bunnies pellets. Make sure that the pellets are clear from seeds and fruits/veggies as those are bad for rabbits. Make sure it is a good pellet. Rabbits need hay 24/7. Timothy, grass ,or orchard. NOT ALFAAFA hay as to much can cause cancer. If u buy a good pellet it should already have alfalfa in it and that’s enough. Rabbits need a water bottle to drink out of. Everyday put fresh cold water in it. Make sure the bottle doesn’t have green in it if so clean it out soak in bleach and scrub with a bottle brush. Only feed treats 2 times a week. NO FRUITS/VEGGIES UNTIL 6MONTHS OF AGE! Rabbits can have oats and sun flower seeds but only as a treat once a week to help with molting and coat. (just a pinch)

Grooming:
Rabbits molt about 2 times out of the year for winter and summer. To sp*ed up molt brush (isn’t recommended for show lionheads). You can also wet your hands and gentle rub your bunny down.
You do not need to bathe your bunny. If you rabbit has p*e or poo on them you can be bathed during that time. Long haired rabbits sometimes will get knots just cut them out. You do need to cut your rabbits nails every 2-3weeks right before quick to prevent bleeding.
