We attended the rally on the steps of our state’s capitol with fellow sportsmen. The clear message is that if you enjoy the western traditions that have made Colorado an outdoor destination, then you will vote, “No,” on 127. We are thankful to have bred litters of high-energy hunting dogs, some of which go to hunting families and some of which don’t. But if you have one of our pups, you have a direct result of our love for hunting and conservation.
Wildlife needs managed to be preserved. Ballot biology is not management.
There is no such thing as, “Trophy Hunting” as defined by the proponents and liars of 127. The meat must be harvested for human consumption.
If 127 passes, you’re looking at an explosion of the lion population in Colorado, and not just any lions, but the worst kind. Lions that are not afraid of humans, because they’re no longer chased by humans.
Hound hunting is the most humane and ethical lion management tool available. The animal is treed, and the hunter can then determine if it is a male of female cat. Female cats are often let out of the tree so that they can continue to breed.
