The very first rescue case happened earlier in the year when an elder had to go to care and Mango decided she was gonna go live with Jac (cos Jac had lotsa food 😉)

***Important Announcement***
LOOK EVERYONE, A CUTE PRIMATE... with a marmoset sitting on her head 😜...
Now that we have your attention, there is something important we would like to discuss...
Jacqui has just taken an irresistible job opportunity interstate (details will follow at a later date).
Which leaves me, "Just Jodi", to hold the fort in Qld, with not a cute furry companion in sight (and no monkey either 😉).
So, if we have sat for your furmily before, I will be honoured to do so again but, after much deliberation and heartache for all the furbabies yet to smooch, for the foreseeable future, In Our Safe Hands will not be taking on any new clients.
Apologies for any inconvenience or disappointment, please take solace in the fact that this little marmoset, and at least 1 of his brothers did in fact p*e on Jodi's head (It dribbled off the peak of her cap, and, if you would like, some splashed on her favourite dress 😆 ...)

Spent last weekend with these two delightful gals. The slightly ball-obsessed Miss Sandy and the love-on-me-the-most Miss Piper. Such sweet pups who have settled into the new-baby house rules really well...well aside from being alittle spoilt by Miss Jacqui and the thunderstorm event on Saturday night. Such a credit to their owners Em & Pete for putting in the time with them 😊

Recently we where invited across the water to keep these 2 fine furry gentlemen company at The Hannah Foundation Inc., while they prepared to move to their new home. Meet Taz and Banjo, the current residents of this volunteer run, not for profit organisation that provides sanctuary to orphaned dogs.
We had such a great time meeting all the lovely folks that work tirelessly for such a great cause. You can check out the great work they are doing on their website and page. Meanwhile, enjoy the pics 😁

Meet Dusty...a retired working dog who still enjoys the pleasures of riding in the back of the ute at any opportunity. His age and arthritis stops him from working anymore, but he still likes a run with the pack. He now gets to live out the rest of his life snuggled on a comfy bed and fed treats on my mum's front porch 😊...and what a life that is 💕

Meet Meow, and yes, just like the name suggests, she's a talker. Treated like a Princess on a farm in The Land of the Long White Cloud, this cat’s got the good life. Meow is adorable and much loved 🥰and the Boss of the household. When she wants a knee, everyone obliges... without question! Her humans always know when she's had enough pats with a gentle bite to the hand.. Meow, the ruler in her domain 😁

Meet Maya 😻
This feisty little sack of adorably spotted mischief, is the latest addition to the In Our Safe Hands family. We have become friends with her older sister Zara over the last few months, and are now lucky to have 2 Bengals to play with 🤗
At only 14 weeks old, Maya is still getting used to her new surroundings, and it may take a while for big sister to get used to sharing her space 😏

Its always nice to have a feel good story...Meet Juniper...a sweet rescue dog and her story as told by her owner:
"She's like my little guiding angel. She looks after me when I'm scared or cold. I got her in January 2020, 3 months after Hudson [a dog I'd had since childhood] passed away. I didn't want another dog so soon but life felt empty without one. The day she was bought to my house for a meet and greet was the day she came and never left. She gave me lots of kisses and showed me she trusted me even though she was a very anxious dog. She's come such a long way since then! Is no longer scared of doors or pillows and has even learned how to "shake paw". Such a clever little cookie."

It's that time of year again, the celebrations are over and we're all going back to some semblance of... [Ha!! I almost said normal 🤣🤪🤔😓😳... stupid covid... Anyhoo... What was I saying?]
The time of year when people ask, "What did you do for Christmas?"...
Our answer is "Snuggle with this piece of sweet gorgeous Dachshund!" 🥰. Yes p*eps, we spent a few days over Christmas hanging with Lucille, and getting lots of cuddles while her mommy took a well earned break... Couldn't have asked for a sweeter🎁 for the holidays 🤗

It is with great sadness that we share this post. A few months back we featured this sweet, retired sweetheart, Lily, on our page. Yesterday she passed from what is believed to be a snake bite. R.I.P Lily. You were loved and will be missed ❤

Meet Mojo 🤗
We have visited with this sweet old man before and jumped at the opportunity to spend a few afternoons feeding and brushing him while his owner was away.
On our 4th visit we noticed an ongoing issue with his eye had gotten worse and our usually placid and cooperative old boy snarled at us trying to put the prescribed drops in 😾
We immediately contacted his mommy and she had us take him to the vet. Turns out an ulcer has formed on his cornea 😿
To cut a long story short, we are now staying with him until mom returns, the prescription medications and drops are working, Mojo is back to his usual vocal and contented self, and we learned about eye health, injuries and treatment in cats 😻

Hi and Welcome to our page.
We are 2 mature, non-smoking minimalists who love to travel and are saving for our next adventure. In the recent past we have worked in remote communities and for now, find ourselves in the big city where friends have told us about the joys of house sitting. What started out as an unsure venture for us, has quickly turned into something we both love and enjoy, and we have been house sitting across Brisbane since April 2019.
We are reliable, tidy and respectful. We both come with Blue Cards and Current Police Checks, have had all our ‘shots’ and are house trained 😊
