Well this is an interesting article from the Canadian Lightsource in Saskatoon about research done on ancient European soils which have unique, long-lasting fertility.

They found that these supersoils were built up with a combination of organic matter, phosphorous and biochar 🙌🏻.

We know that biochar gives soil microbes a place to live, and likely houses the bacterial life that leads to humus-rich soils 🌱
