Please spread the word! Neil is STILL MISSING as of Nov 23, 2024, last seen in Glace Bay, NS B1A near Park, Brookland, Catherine
Update: Neil has not been sighted over the last few days at his usual spot on Yorke Street in Glace Bay where the homeowners have been feeding him twice daily. Plus we have been leaving food and changing out the shelter on the property.
There have been various tuxedo black and white sightings here in Glace Bay and we've looked at cameras, pictures of cats that people have found and brought in and monitored sites that feature lost and found pets. We've even followed several other cats that have been spotted and once close realized they were not in fact, Neil.
So we are still on the lookout, he hasn't been sighted in the last few days on Yorke so I'm going to remove that shelter and stick with the one set up at , with food water and fresh clean dry bedding. Also we are in the process of making a waterproof and insulated shelter with the weather getting quite a bit colder and very wet.
Again, Neil has a very distinctive face marking. He's all black from Ears down to eyes, then slightly above his nose there's an "M" shape marking that you will observe in his picture. He's white underneath, and white on the paws. His black fur is very shiny. He doesn't like people walking towards him it will scare him off.
Sitting quietly with treats and a bowl of wet food will lure him to to you. Once I talked to him in a low voice as he ate the wet food, he started to rub up against my legs, eat treats, and finally let me pick him up and he nuzzled into my neck and I got him inside.
We noticed that he had been wandering in Sydney and a Facebook post by a neighbor nearby had revealed he was a stray that kept appearing looking for food and that she had called the SPCA to come get him. That was late October.
We found him crying outside my dad's hse and starving. And very scared. I drove to Glace Bay with him and he was as good as gold on the drive . He settled in fine and just ate and slept by my side for days but no use of litter box for the time he was with us.
We started to worry and took him outside on a kitten harness to do his business. This activated his abandonment issues of probably being born outside and surviving outside on his own. He backed out of the harness (I've never seen a cat manage that), and the more we walked the more he kept going farther and farther from us.
We lost sight of him in the backyards of Main St., behind the former "Curry's Funeral ", and beyond on King Edward heading towards Reserve Street.
We would love to see him inside and safe soon especially since this has been a cold wet few weeks and it won't be long before the snow.
We do have a humane live trap if he is sighted. Currently out on our step.
If anyone has taken him in and fallen in love with him and is not coming forward due to no social media or wanting to keep him we are totally ok with that as long as he is safe warm and properly being taken care of. We just want him safe. That's our priority. We are very worried for him and hate not knowing where he is. We are even willing to help with getting the little boy looked at by the vet and neutered.
Please call us night or day at/), or at [email protected] /or [email protected].
Thank you in advance for your help as we are not on social media so don't have access to the full sites that are offered on Facebook. ππ€π€π€π€πΏπ¨οΈβοΈππ‘ππ€π€ββπ
Description: Neil was just rescued by us. Hesxa medium length tuxedo long slender boy a white belly and paws his black coat is very shiny. He was very hungry cold and scared when we took him in and it took him several days to trust. He hasn't left our sides and slept in bed with us for two days just eating and sleeping he was exhausted. He is afraid of outside he wiggled out of his harness and ran up Alexander, crossed over to the top of McDonald's lane across main street in the area near the old curries funeral , he was running through backyards when I lost track of him. If you sit quietly with food he will approach to eat but is very easily startled. He had been living outside and wants to be in where it's warm. Very cuddly once he trusts you and likes to sleep beside you in bed. There's a white area around his nose that makes an "M" design. We want to get him back we have fallen in love with him. Our address is 161 Alexander Street Glace Bay. Cell:/. Call anytime day or night if you see him. If you can get him in the hse please keep him inside and we will come get him.

π¬ "Please continue to update us if he's sighted. He's not far from now. I will be placing the live trap tomorrow with tuna and watching to see if he is going to come eat. Hopefully we get him tomorrow as the weather is too cold out now for babies to be outside. πΏ"
