Join us tomorrow for a free class teaching your dog PLACE. This is a great command that I use all of the time to calm dogs down instead of jumping on guests or barking at other dogs. Bring a helper, enjoy a beer from and vote for Gator for Hollers AmbassaDog. All donations benefit . I’ll bring all of the equipment necessary (if your dog has any food allergies please bring your own treats). Please RSVP as there is limited space.

Working on PLACE with a visitor.

On our second lesson, I was told that Maple was doing amazing on PLACE, but when I showed up she was going a bit nuts.

(She really is doing amazing. Blake and Ingrid are sending her to PLACE from a distance after just one week)

Why was she freaking out though?

It’s because we had added a bigger distraction than she had seen before, a new person. She really wanted to get off of PLACE and come see Mandilyn. We worked through it together by only giving her attention when she was quiet and giving a consequence if she broke PLACE. After a few minutes, she was calm and we could resume training. It’s important to reinforce PLACE every time there is a new visitor.
