Come on Camillia!
Come on Camillia!
Last night I called for them and she and Miracle came running! I made a mental note to capture it tonight and well, this is what I got 🤦♀️
Evidently I am not nearly as exciting as that cute fella back there.
Look what Camillia has been up to!
It’s been a while since the last update and this is quite an update!
She’s been helping this precious lady learn horsemanship. Her new buddy has always wanted to know more about horses and Camillia is just the girl to make a lifelong dream come true.
Isn’t this the sweetest job for her?!

Mom, we don’t need a saddle or bit for our first ride 💜

Listen at that sweet excitement!
And notice the happy leg pose of both Mom and daughter 💜💜💜
We have to put their feed in a sturdy trough or they knock it over out of still sometimes being overly excited about food from being starved most of their lives.
Second breakfast of the morning 😊💜
What a difference a year can make
This video was the day after Camillia was rescued. Can you even believe she made it?!
Her journey is one of resiliency! Her journey began when many people stepped up and spoke out to get her help. Thank you to all!!
Celebration of her journey back to health and the community who helped her will be Saturday, April 22nd at Oaky Doak Farm.
Please save the date. Details to come.
Camillia wanted to let everyone know she is doing great this cold morning.
Camillia wanted to thank all our Veterans.
Camillia!
Leading up to our 3rd anniversary celebration of Come Meet the ODF Herd, we have been featuring a rescue each day. I thought you guys would like to see who was featured today 😊

Camillia’s journey began April 18th exactly 5-months ago.
We estimated her weight to be around 650 pounds as she lay almost dead on that heartless human’s cruel, cold ground.
It’s hard to say for sure because her body score was barely a 1 out of 9 (body score of 0 is dead) when she arrived at the Veterinarian Hospital.
Today, she is somewhere between 940-950 pounds!!!!
Her hind quarters still need to fill out and gain muscle mass. We will begin her exercise program in order to help her progress to build her muscles.
I love how my background of health, wellness and nutrition for humans has translated so well to horses. It truly isn’t that complicated. She needed quality nutrition, a stress-free environment, love and support for her to overcome her past.
I know full well she feels all of your support on her journey to the girl she should be! Thank you everyone!
In His service,
Steven & Erin
