2 males and 5 females!

Meet the first Faces of Feral 2023!
Without TNR kitty 54, a long haired kitty, would have continued to suffer from extremely matted hair! While he was under for alteration, our vet was kind enough to shave him down and relieve him from his heavy coat pulling at his skin!
Kitty 58 had already had kittens this year. No more babies for her!
Kitty 62 was trapped with a colony but surprised us with already being fixed. She didn’t have a microchip so we posted her and so far no body has stepped up to claim her.
Kitty 63 actually approached us at our building! She, now named Lady Bug, was also not chipped and has not been claimed.

Hey Bottineau, we are excited to announce we will start our first trapping session of the 2023 year this Wednesday through Saturday both in town and up at the lake!
Please keep your pet kitties inside during these times to avoid them being trapped.
We need additional volunteers for various duties including trapping, chores, cleaning supplies, transporting to and from the vet and planning fundraising events. If you would be interested in helping in any way, please reach out.

We need volunteers!
23/02/2023
Thanks to an Anonymous donor, we were able to get our first two kitties of 2023 and our 52nd and 53rd kitties to date fixed today!
Though we have not officially started mass trapping yet due to the cold temps, we had to take advantage of this opportunity and get these boys in.
More kitties fixed means less kitties we have to fix!
Thanks to Turtle Mountain Veterinary Service for having TNR days and for taking such great care of our fiesty little friends!
06/12/2022
TNR kitty #41 Callie got adopted this evening!
She went to family who is willing to patiently work to earn her trust and make her feel comfortable!
Another feral to friendly kitty off the streets!
01/12/2022
After 3 months, Squiggy got adopted!
18/11/2022
If you love kittens (and we have some), we need to have some fosters on hand for our local TNR group. There will be times when we trap friendly cats or kittens that go unclaimed. If you have a spare room and love cats, you will need to complete a foster application and be approved by Turtle Mt. Animal Rescue (TMAR). Please consider helping! 😻
We currently have 10 kittens waiting to find their homes!
14/11/2022
We have a couple ear tipped kittens who are fixed and ready for homes!
We could have put them back into he streets but we decided to try and give them the chance at a pet life.
Thankfully, it was the right choice!
31/10/2022
All of these kitties are looking for homes!
They must be inside only homes.
If you really want to make a difference for a street kitty right here in bottineau, these babies are local feral to friendly stories!
29/10/2022
Tonight is the last night of trapping before the final group of kitties head to the vet for the 2022 season.
We have 4 more spots to fill. Wish us luck! ❤️
29/10/2022
Persistence pays off!
We have been trying catch this little one for a long time! He/she was born at an abandoned house off 5th street earlier this year.
We have trapped the momma and brother, who have an adoptive farm home, but had not been able to get this one.
Now this baby will get vetted and be able to join the rest of its little family on a property where shelter and food are provided!

Of of them many reasons TNR programs are so important.
Without it, this guy would continue to suffer on the streets with no options for treatment.
28/10/2022
What a shame it is that someone in the SouthBrook mobile home park would trespass onto someone else’s property and sabotage our traps!! What kind of awful person would get in the way of helping innocent animals and trying to control the overpopulation of suffering cats in our community?
You obviously haven’t met us, but we are more stubborn than you, more determined than you and we don’t give up.
27/10/2022
We will be starting our last TNR session for the 2022 year tonight.
We will be trapping tonight through potentially Sunday AM, depending on how quickly we are able to fill our spots.
We will pick back up in spring when it warms back up again.
In the mean time, we do have kittens!

Desperate for rescue

TNR Prep
We are getting set up for our next session starting this evening! Just a little insight into the equipment we use and the way we set the kitties up while they are here.
First toys
These five kittens who were born and raised in an abandoned garage are starting to play with toys for the very first time.
Feral to Friendly
A week ago today these 4 kittens were living the life of feral cats on the streets of Bottineau with their momma. They came in extremely skiddish and untrusting of humans. Today, they played with toys for the first time and some started not only enjoying affection but seeking it out. One of the four is a little cautious still and will hiss if he is caught off guard but overall they are doing really well and making socialization progress very quickly. Their momma is truly an established feral cat and was released back to her territory promptly after vetting and recovery.
