I got my dog when I was just 19 years old and a single mother of 1.
I kept my dog.
I kept my dog even though I moved into an apartment and had to pay a $500 pet fee.
I kept my dog when my boyfriend and I broke up and he kept the apartment even though my new place didn't allow dogs.
I kept my dog when I ultimately had to move back in with my parents and she also was not allowed there.
I kept my dog when I had my second child. I kept my dog when his father put all of us through hell and none of us had anywhere to go.
I kept my dog when I had a penny to my name and we all ate nothing but buttered noodles for dinner.
Ten years later I STILL have my dog because she is the very start of the huge family that we now have.
Even though she's getting slow, eating less and turning grey I STILL HAVE MY DOG. I'm tired of hearing and reading about posts that say "getting rid of them because they don't like my new puppy" or "I want a new dog".
Commitment is commitment.

“Its late, and maybe in the morning I'll delete this post, but I've just got home and for now I need to write this down.
Earlier this evening I received a message from a home owner to say they had a swarm of bees in their hedge, but they were worried about them because children had been throwing water at them.
By the time my fellow beekeeper and I arrived, what had been a beautiful prime swarm was reduced to a few hundred drenched bees, huddling limply around their queen.
I've already deleted the photos of the puddles of water, the dripping wet hedge, and the many, many dead and dying bees that hadn't been able to escape the attack; sharing those pictures serves no purpose.
We gently placed the bees that had survived into a collection box, and hopefully tomorrow, when they've had chance to dry out and settle, we'll check on them and if necessary feed them; they'll be exhausted and possibly (understandably) defensive. They've been through a lot.
Please, please, help me to educate your children, your grandchildren, your neices and nephews, your neighbours, your colleagues and your friends that a swarm of bees isn't dangerous - they're amazing creatures that are just looking for a new home.
Please don't let anyone harm them. Just call a beekeeper who will gladly rehome them.
Please help me to spread this message and hopefully save any more bees from being unnecessarily harmed” 😢

If I die while I have a pet, let my animal see my dead body. Let them see my dead body please. They understand death and seeing me dead will allow them to mourn, but if I just never show up one day they’ll think I abandoned them. I know what it feels like to be abandoned and I never want anyone to feel that way, especially my dog... 🐾🙏

Update: most of the nail polish and glitter has been removed. All of the white spots on her shell are damaged areas that will take a long time to heal. She at least seems interested in eating and appreciates her warm-water soaks (even though she is a land turtle, they do enjoy soaking in shallow water, this helps to keep them hydrated)

Many orphans can be left a few hours to see if mom comes back...NOT OPOSSUMS! If you see a baby like this one in a yard or anywhere, get it quickly in a little box or pet carrier with a blanket and keep warm and call a wild life rescue. Momma opossum can have up to 13 babies. As they grow, they don't all fit in the pouch so they ride on her back. If something startles her and she runs, one can fall off. Momma doesn't know she lost one so please never ever leave one thinking mom will come back...

Java joined Macchiato today at his foster home! He is more outgoing than Mac and like Mac, gets along with everyone! It took him less than 30 minutes to settle in and know how it all works here! Super duper smart, I'd say!!! Mac seemed pleased and surprised to see him! Java and Macchiato are available to adopt through Camo Rescue. Please share - it would be terrific to see these two together in a new loving home!

Macchiato plays nicely! He's a bit smaller than a border collie, and my guess is he's about 3 years old and about 30 lbs. He's nice enough to get along with absolutely everyone and sturdy enough to play with his new larger friends. I wish I could have gotten a better pic of his soulful eyes! He's recently neutered and learning to trust people again and how to live the good life he should have had from the start. Please share...

Meet Macchiato, a poodle rescued from a breeder in another state. Macchiato is young and recently neutered. He is a bit timid but my dogs are teaching him about the good life, and in true poodle fashion Macchiato is learning very quickly! He needs to work on learning his name and his recall, and that he can trust you. He is certified cat friendly, although he might give you a quick bark to let you know one is on the way! He's lovely and we are enjoying watching him discover his new, great life. He's elegant and so far everyone is his friend! He loves watching the crows, birds and squirrels eat and all the outside smells! Please share...

Meet Macciato, my new foster from Camo Rescue! He came from a breeder dump in another state. He is making himself at home! He is loving playing with his new buddies and is certified cat friendly, although he might bark once at YOU to let you know there is one coming! He also loves watching the hummingbirds, crows, birds and squirrels eat. He is about 3, newly neutered, not dominant at all and eager to learn! He has very little recall because he is afraid of new people but his new doggo pals are showing him how it all works and in true poodle fashion, he's learning FAST. He will make someone a lovely pet - don't you love his colors/markings?

It is with the greatest of joy I announce that today is Got'cha day! Today Debbie Howes Karnes and her husband Randy adopted sweet Hailey from Camo Rescue!!! With help from their grandson Charlie, Hailey was escorted to her new home in the air-conditioned comfort she has grown accustomed to. Hailey's gentle and playful nature will fit perfectly with her two new doggo and her two new kitty housemates!!! I couldn't be happier and a piece of my heart goes with her.
