APRIL 3 UPDATE: When we first caught him, Jasper didn't know how to play. He's got the hang of it now!
-
While Jasper was confined for recovery from his neuter and facial wound treatment, we learned that he is friendly! Since his initial wound treatment, Jasper has wound up back at the veterinarian's office several times, but he's looking great now!
-
Thanks to everyone that helped us help Jasper with networking and donations, and to the kind community that helped to feed Jasper over the prior six months. Also, we are very grateful to the nice couple that is providing space and care for Jasper to recover inside. (They also provided this video footage.)

Jasper's prior posts and updates are below. There was no post for his last trip to the vet.

MAR. 20 UPDATE: VET CARE FUNDS NEEDED. We're planning to send Emerson to the vet tomorrow. We also need to send Sapphire to the vet.
-
UPDATE: EMERSON IS SICK. Due to veterinarian shortages and his caretakers' work schedules and commutes, they haven't been able to get him to a vet.
-
Barstow, CA. SWEET & GENTLE, EMERSON NEEDS A PLACE TO GO!
-
EMERSON. Male, est. 3 years old (*), gray and white. Fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. FIV-positive per SNAP test.
-
It’s clear that this sweet, gentle boy, has had a hard life. WE DON’T WANT HIM TO GO BACK OUTSIDE, so the feeder is holding him indoors temporarily, but they lack space and funding to support another cat.
-
We caught him when trapping feral kitties. Because Emerson turned out to be friendly, the feeder took him inside, but cannot keep him there. He is in a small space which is our ONLY ISO to hold cats overnight after trapping and spay/neuter.
-
The residents have tight limitations on how much they can take on, and desperately need that space back for overnight holds when trapping.
-
To be able to trap and fix cats again at this location, they must first have a place for Emerson, or release him back outside.
-
(*) Estimated age from medical paperwork when he was neutered.
-
PLEASE HELP US find a place for this sweet boy!

4/4/24 Update: Since this post, Jasper went back to the vet a few more times due to his facial wound. He was SNAP tested for FeLV, FIV and Heartworm (all negative) and has been kept indoors since.
-
UPDATE: Jasper turns out to be very friendly! Unfortunately, he had to be put back outside. Seeking rescue for adoptions (or we can consider an adopter if in or near Pasadena, CA.) A vet est. Jasper to be about 18 mos. old. Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped. We can provide SNAP (FIV, FeLV) before transfer. We'll post new video and photos soon.
-
Pasadena, CA. JASPER HAD SURGERY ON HIS FACE AND HE WAS FIXED ON TUESDAY. They closed the wound on the inside, then glued it on the outside. We set him up in a crate for observation for a few days and so far, things are good! He was very hungry. Thanks to everyone for helping him!

JAN. 9 UPDATE. LUNA WENT TO THE VET. DONATIONS & FOSTER NEEDED.
-
Today, Cat Posse sent Luna to their vet where Luna had xrays and labwork. It turns out that Luna does have a broken tail after all. The vet believes it could be due to an injury such as being hit by a car, or possibly from the tail being caught and yanked free! Luna will need a tail amputation.
-
Her diarrhea is resolving and she has some urinary incontinence, though she is also using the litter box. It’s possible that she has a UTI or other issue, but we do not know yet. In the meantime, she on metronidazole--the medication that was started a few days ago for diarrhea.
-
It is hard for rescues to step up and take in a cat in Luna’s condition with injuries and unknowns. The good people at Cat Posse took a leap today in taking Luna to save her. Today’s bill was over $500 and there will be more bills.
-
This is not the first time Cat Posse has stepped up to rescue cat that could potentially be a difficult case. Day and night, seven days per week, they work HARD for animals. A donation in any amount will help Cat Posse to take care of Luna and continue their work for animals.
-
PLEASE SEND A DONATION TO THE CAT POSSE. Donation links for The Cat Posse are here. https://linktr.ee/TheCatPosse
-
LUNA NEEDS A FOSTER HOME. The foster must be located close enough to the area to transport Luna to Cat Posse's veterinarians if needed. That could be in or near Altadena, Pasadena, and parts of LA areas.
-
We'll post an updated photo of Luna soon. Today was a very busy day for everyone involved.

Jan. 8 UPDATE
-
Thank you, everyone, for sh
Jack is one of the friendly cats that we plan to fix tomorrow (Aug. 10).
Jack Craves Love
OUTSIDE, JACK WAITS FOR HER.
-
In a community where outdoor cats are often unwelcome, Jack recently appeared outside a Barstow woman’s home and has not left since. When the woman walks out the door, he is there waiting for her.
-
When he first showed up, JACK was crying a lot and the woman thought he might be ill, but it now seems Jack was simply starving for attention. This sweet, people-loving orange tabby appears to be a young adult that is unfixed. The woman has no available space, or she would have already taken him inside.
-
We’re planning to fix Jack this Friday, Aug. 11. He’ll be neutered with deflea/deworm, vaccines, and microchip. If a rescue has room for Jack, we’ll SNAP test (FIV/FeLV) at the same time when he is fixed. Otherwise, this lonely kitty will have to be returned outside.
-
We don’t want to put Jack back outside. The sweet ones are often too trusting of unscrupulous humans. They sometimes get run off by other cats or dogs, or caught by coyotes.
-
GIVE JACK THE CHANCE TO SHOW THE LOVE HE WANTS TO SHARE!
-
The woman that sent us this video hopes it might help get a home for Jack. If you are interested in adopting Jack or taking him into your rescue, please contact Cat Rescue Team or Cindy J. Rinaldi on Facebook. (Posted Aug. 9, 2023.)

The resident (feeder) moved and a family member took over temporarily feeding the cats. Since that time, AC has visited the property twice and is expected back. We do not have a date, but based on prior visits, they could return Fri. Mar. 24 or Mon. Mar. 27.

Apple Valley, CA. UPDATE ON CASEY! Currently doing well in foster care, Casey was trapped earlier this year at a property in Barstow, along with Smudge and other cats. He is still a bit skittish with new noises but his foster is working on this. Casey loves scratches, treats, and playing with his wand toy. Listen to his meow!

FOSTER NEEDED!
THIS IS WHAT PAIN MANAGEMENT IS SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE. IT HAS TAKEN A LOT OF WORK AND TIME, but we finally have a workable pain management plan in place for Chocolate Chip, and it's pretty simple too. She has been battling stubborn stomatitis with calici and we have more work ahead, but are glad to be able to share this good news update. We'll come back with more news as soon as we can.
Note: CC needs a new foster home, because her current foster has a medical issue and is unable to care for her. Contact Cat Rescue Team.
Update: Bella went to a rescue!
Delano, CA. LISTEN TO HER PURR NOW! BELLA NEEDS A PLACE TO GO! BELLA WAS SICK. ALL HER BABIES DIED after a hard labor with one of her babies born tangled in the placenta. A good Samaritan took Bella in and a nonprofit paid for her vet care. Bella is recovering now and needs a place to go. YOU can give sweet Bella the good life she has never known. Transportation to the Los Angeles area area is available. Contact Cat Rescue Team on Facebook.

UPDATE: All kittens disappeared at the same time. They were last seen by the feeder on Sat. April 31.
-
Barstow, CA. FOUR KITTENS NEED A PLACE TO GO NOW! The mama is feral. We would like to try to catch Mama with the kittens, but we’d need someone to place her and we need to get the kittens in for socialization. If we don’t catch her with the kittens, we will be trapping there again soon. Note: A resident that is feeding the kittens may wish to keep one.

BARSTOW KITTIES UPDATE: CASEY STILL NEEDS A PLACE TO GO!
TROUBLE NEEDS A FOSTER HOME
UPDATE: ADOPTED!
Hesperia, CA. Adoption or foster needed. TROUBLE IS SEEKING LOVE!
-
Finally healing from illness and surgery, this seven-month-old is bursting with affection, but he lacks the confidence needed to shine in adoption venues. Can you give Trouble the love he craves in a forever home with you? Or build his confidence in foster care, so he can go to adoptions and find his purrfect match?
-
Watch Trouble's video and you will be convinced that Trouble is ready for love! (And while you're watching, check out his front toes!) If you'd like to adopt or foster Trouble, contact Cindy J. Rinaldi or Mia Dravis on Facebook.
-
One of 34 kitties at a Lucerne Valley property (Oct. 2020), TROUBLE was malnourished and sick when we arrived. After multiple treatments for virus and infection, he was neutered and separately underwent surgery for entropion in his right eye.
-
Trouble had lived his life with littermates and other cats. He was recently fostered for medical care with two other littermates. Last week, Trouble's littermates went to an adoption venue, but Trouble could not go because he was too timid for public adoptions. Trouble is still in the home of the wonderful person that made sure he received much-needed medical care, but her responsibilities leave little time for Trouble's socialization.
-
Trouble can be transported throughout San Bernardino and LA cities and counties.
-
THANK YOU for your donations to help Trouble and the other kitties in need like Trouble. We still owe $49 on Trouble's surgery bill and need help to pay it off. Donations can be sent via:
