Join us for Second Star Horsemanship's Youth Horse Camp!

We welcome all levels of horse experience, ages 5 and up!
Friday- Sunday, June 27th-29th (only a few spots left!) or July 25th-27th, 10am-4pm
The campers will learn about horse care, grooming, tacking, riding and we will also have crafts and games!
$250 for all three days.

On Sunday parents are welcome to stay and watch their kids ride and stay for lunch! Lunch is $10 per person.

⚠️All riders must have a Certified Riding Helmet!! These can be purchased at Tractor Supply, Family Farm and Home, Cox Saddlery, Dover, Equus Now or Bomgaars. You can also rent one from us for $10 a day.
They also will need long pants or jeans and boots with a heel. No Gym Shoes or rain boots when riding. These Items cannot have bling on them as this can damage the tack. No baggy shirts, dangling earrings, bracelets or necklaces. They can become entangled in the equipment and may lead to injury. Medical bracelets must be secure. You can contact me if you have any questions about proper attire.

Bring a packed lunch for Friday and Saturday. Sunday we will have a Pizza Party! Also bring a water bottle each day.

$100 non-refundable deposit to hold your campers spot.

Stall available!

The horse that was here is graduating from the program and heading home which means we have a stall available!

Second Star Horsemanship is a small quiet barn located about 30 mins from Florence, Kentucky and 35 mins from downtown Cincinnati in Guilford, Indiana.
We also have a trainer on site who specializes in Liberty and Bridleless work, C**t Starting and Problem horses with a show background in hunter over fences, jumpers, pleasure classes, and showmanship. We also bring in different trainers and clinicians for lesson days.

Full care Board is $550 a month.

Full care includes:
• 12x14 or 12x8 stall. Stalls are cleaned daily.
• Grain Am and Pm. We feed Sentinel LS Performance, Sentinel Senior, Safe Choice Special Care and Enrich
• Free choice salt and minerals
• 1 pump of 100x Equine Gut X.
We also have all 100x Equine products available for a slight upcharge.
• Free choice hay. We feed an Orchard grass mix, Alfalfa/grass mix and Alfalfa hay. Every horse is fed in a slow feeder haynet.
• Daily turn out, weather permitting, separated by gender. Day turn out in winter and night turn out in summer
• Bell boots put on/Taken off if needed for turnout
• Blankets or fly sheet and fly masks put on/taken off
• Fans in the summer

Amenities include
• 45ft round pen
• 65x90 indoor arena
• 70x120 outdoor arena
• Porta Potty on site
• Trainer on site
• Heavy use pads in each paddock
• Tack Room

We have two different Youth Summer Camps geared for ages 5-10. This camp is filled with horses, games, crafts and a whole lot of fun!
Then new this year we have the Equine Discovery Camp for ages 11 and up that goes more in-depth in the education of horses. The kids will learn horse handling skills, riding and how to care for the horses!

Another camp we are so excited to announce is our Equine Discovery Camp! This camp is geared for kids who are wanting a more educational based camp.
This camp will have English riding, Western riding, Showmanship/Halter, obstacles and Liberty Horsemanship learning opportunities! We also have equine professionals from different fields coming and talking with the campers! Each camper will also learn the ends and outs of caring for a horse such as but not limited to their daily care, nutrition, foot care, and exercise.

Date: July 11th-13th
Time: 10am-4pm

Ages: 11 and up
Price: $275 for all three days

🎉🎂🎈 Happy 19th Birthday Harvey! 🎈🎂🎉

Harvey has made a big impact on our little farm in the short time he is here. He is so careful with our young kids but not afraid to push our older kids to work for what they are wanting. We are very blessed to have him here!

As we prepare for the first virtual show of the year to open on Monday, we have one more important update to share for 2025…

Due to popular demand, after much consideration, we’ve decided to add a demo only Pro division!

What does that mean exactly? Professionals can now participate in virtual and in person YELO shows, but in a different capacity than amateurs. They will still receive a scorecard with comments and feedback from the judges, but the pro classes will not be placed.

Instead, the pro division runs will be used as both inspiration and learning for the youth and amateurs participating.

We had so many requests from coaches and trainers to participate last year, that we wanted to find a way to include everyone, without sacrificing the fun, supportive culture we strive to create at events.

We’re hoping this will help bridge that gap and be a fun way for pros to participate AND all other members to learn. 😊💛

FOUND DOG!
Yesterday morning I found this little girl curled up in my sawdust bin. We are located on route one near the covered bridge/ firehouse. She is a tri-colored small dog. She is very scared but is safe with me. Please let me know if you know who she belongs to! We had her scanned and she has a chip but it is not registered.
