The Southern Sky group had a fun week at Exel and no one melted in the heat…. Although there were moments we thought we might possibly! 🔥🔥
So proud of Southern Sky girls that had the top 2 scores in the first round of the Sunday Hunter Derby- Ellie Grace with an 87 and Mimi with an 86.
*Red Cap & Mimi were champion in their division and were second 🥈in the Sunday Hunter Derby. They also participated in the college combine.
*Pursuit of Happiness & Lilly won 2 HUGE jumper classes, were reserve champions in the .6m and won their .7m Classic on Sunday.
*Qui Vigo Darco and Ellie Grace participated in the college combine and were 4th in the Equitation Challenge on Sunday and 9th in the Hunter Derby.
*Clara borrowed Saint Loise from her sister and made her jumper debut to great ribbons and a reserve champion in the .6m division!

Southern Sky was happy to have Larson and Charming Charlie join us and congratulate them on their Champion in the WT cavaletti division.
Also, Mary Alice West’s Farnley Sea Salt is the CUTEST nugget- taking a blue in the lead line with Mary Helen & also the champion in the very green hunters with a catch rider. We love our neighbors! ❤️

Thanks to Brittany and her entire crew for working endlessly to provide riders a wonderful and fun opportunity to learn and grow.

Southern Sky had a fun two weeks at Memphis in May! Thank you Sarah Jackson and West Tennessee Hunter Jumper Association for putting on quality shows. Both weather and footing were fabulous!
Highlights of week 1:
Celebrate & Mary Grayson Fauser were champions in the younger adults, second in the Zone 4 Children’s/ Adult Handy Challenge and third in the Children’s/ Adult Classic.
Red Cap & Mimi Hickerson were reserve champions in the low adult hunters.
Radiate & Mary Grayson were reserve champions in the USHJA Hunters 2’3” and had great ribbons in the low adults, including a 2nd in the classic.
Qui Vigo Darco & Ellie Grace Flynn were 3rd in the Zone 4 Children’s/ Adult Handy challenge & had great ribbons in the Older Children’s Hunters.

Week 2 got off to a good start with Red Cap & Mimi taking second place in the low derby and ribboning in every 2’6” USHJA class out of a large group.
Celebrate & MG continued their winning ways, taking home the champion in the younger adults for the second week and winning the combined Children’s/ Adult Classic with an 84 and 80.
Radiate & MG won the low adult classic with an 81 and 85, plus had good ribbons in the division.
Ellie Grace & Qui Vigo Darco moved up to the 3’3” juniors and had great placings, including a 3rd in the combined Junior A/O Classic.
So proud of everyone for 2 great weeks!!

Southern Sky always has a great time at Brownland Farm Horse Shows! We took a quick trip with Candor and Ellie Grace Flynn (Kimberly Pruitt Flynn)- they came home with great ribbons in the Junior Hunters and won the combined classic with 20 entries! Congrats EG!!

Memphis in May 2 was a great show for Southern Sky and a fabulous way to wrap up WTHJA’s spring show series!

Highlights include:
Radiate “Charlotte” & Mary Grayson Fauser were champions of the USHJA hunters for the second week in a row! 🎉
Southern Storm & Addison Wagner started off their partnership with a bang! In their first show together, they were champions in the short/ long stirrup division out of a large group! 🎉
Saint Loise & Mimi Hickerson were champions in the .85 child/adult jumper division! 🎉
Captivate & Mary Grayson were champions & classic winners in the low adult hunters! 🎉
Candor & Ellie Grace Flynn were reserve champions in the 3’3” Junior division for the second week in a row! 🎉
Brewsky & Reagan Bugg had great ribbons in the adult hunters and were 3rd out of a huge group in the Child/Adult Hunter Classic! 🎉
Red Cap & Clara Hickerson earned great ribbons in the large low adult division & were 4th in the Classic! 🎉
Celebrate “Ouzo” and Mary Grayson were class winners in the low adults! 🎉

So incredibly proud of my hard working girls & we couldn’t do it without the support of their parents & families. I have the best group!!

Southern Sky enjoyed the beautiful May weather at WTHJA’s Memphis in May 1!

Radiate “Charlotte” was champion in the USHJA Hunters at her first rated show. Thanks Mary Grayson Fauser & Robyn Miller for all your hard work with this young mare! 🎉

Candor & Ellie Grace Flynn had a great week in the 3’3” Junior Hunters, bringing home the reserve champion. 🎉

Mary Grayson with her 2 bays Captivate & Celebrate had top ribbons in the Low Adult Hunters, with Captivate being reserve champion & 2nd in the Classic. Thanks Reagan Bugg for helping in the Under Saddle! 🎉🎉

Southern Sky had a great show at WTHJA’s Springtime Encore!

Highlights include:
Mimi Hickerson & Saint Loise were champion in the .85m Child/Adult jumpers 🎉🎉

Reagan Bugg & Brewsky were reserve champion in the Adult hunters 🎉🎉

Ellie Grace Flynn & Candor had great ribbons in the younger Junior Hunters, including a 2nd in the Handy and a 2nd in the under saddle 🎉🎉

Mary Grayson Fauser with Captivate & Celebrate and Clara Hickerson with Red Cap competed in the 2’6” low derby on Friday, with MG finishing 2nd and 6th and Clara earned 4th place! 🎉🎉
Additionally, Captivate & Celebrate were 🥇& 🥈 in the Low Adult Classic.

Such a fun show with a great group!! We are looking forward to Memphis in May!

Southern Sky started off the WTHJA Springtime show series with a bang!
Springtime in Dixie results:

Ellie Grace Flynn and Candor brought home the championship in the combined Junior Hunter division and also the reserve championship in the modified child/adult hunter. 🎉🎉

Reagan Bugg and Brewsky were champions in the combined Adult division & second in the Child/Adult classic! Reagan was not lower than a 2nd place all weekend! Talk about consistency! 🎉🎉

Mary Grayson Fauser and her bay boys took on the low adult division, with Captivate winning the reserve championship & Celebrate winning the Classic! 🎉🎉

Looking forward to Springtime Encore and warmer weather next week! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Wrapping up our time in Gulfport! The second week we competed (week 5) was not nearly as beautiful weather-wise as the first, but the Southern Sky girls were troopers and toughed it out while freezing to death and blowing away. I’m so proud of my sweet group for putting in the work when the conditions are less than optimal.
Highlights include: Mary Grayson & Captivate were back to back champions in both the USHJA 2’3” and the 2’6” adult hunters for the second week in a row.
Clara & Red Cap joined us for week 5 and despite not being able to school because of the deluge on Friday, they put in great trips and ribboned in every over fences class in a competitive 2’6” adult division.
Last but not least- congratulations to Addie Wagner on her beautiful new horse Southern Storm! We are so excited for this new partnership!

On to WTHJA’s Springtime in Dixie & Springtime Encore!

The very last show for 2022 is a wrap! ✅

Illuminate “Toby” & Addie Wagner had consistent rounds in the 2’ Open Hunters and came away with great ribbons! 🎉🎉
Red Cap “Porter” had a rider switch- Victoria borrowed him from daughter Clara and had a clean sweep in the Rusty Stirrup taking the champion!! 🎉🎉

Lilly Misciskia had a great show! She & Happy were champion in the Very Green Hunters & she borrowed Sailor from The Barn Nanny and they had a fabulous first show in the .60m Puddle Jumpers🎉🎉

Four year old Charlotte with Mary Grayson & Robyn Miller had a good learning experience hanging out at the show and we were happy that Mimi and Holly joined us too.

Can’t wait for 2023 show season & warmer weather!!

We may have been frozen solid but the Southern Sky group was on fire 🔥 🔥 at the last rated show for the season- WTHJA’s Memphis Charity.
Baby Ouzo “Celebrate” and Mary Grayson Fauser started the week off in winning form taking the championship in the Baby Green Hunters for the second week in a row. 🎉🎉
Hot on their heels were Ellie Grace Flynn & Candor who had a clean sweep of the modified child/ adult division on Friday, earning her the champion for the second week. EG and Carl weren’t done there- they were champion in the 3’3” Junior Hunters for the second week in a row, 2nd in the Jr/AO Classic, and finished the week with the Zone 4 championship in the 3’3” Jr/AO division. 🎉🎉🎉
Mary Grayson & Ozzie “Captivate” were champions in the Low Adult Hunters, won the classic & earned the Zone 4 championship in the Low Adult division. 🎉🎉
Clara Hickerson & Red Cap joined us for the Low Child/Adult equitation & earned great ribbons, including a 2nd over fences!
I’m so incredibly proud of my group! What a way to end the season!! Thanks to everyone that has helped us this year and thank you to West Tennessee West Tennessee Hunter Jumper Association and Sarah Jackson for putting on great shows all year!!

Harvest Time is a wrap!
So proud of our small but mighty crew for braving the cold 🥶 with great attitudes! We may have been frozen, but we had fun.
Ellie Grace Flynn and Candor were section A champions in the combined Jr/AO hunters. Double champion this week as they were also champion in the Modified Child/Adult division on Friday-fabulous job EG & Carl!! 🎉🎉

Mary Grayson Fauser & Celebrate had a great week, winning 3 Baby Green classes and earning champion. 🎉🎉

Clara Hickerson & Red Cap won the Low Childrens Eq. over fences and Eq. on the flat & had good ribbons in a huge Low Childrens division including a blue ribbon in the under saddle! Clara & Porter were also 6th in the Low Classic with a first round score of 81 🎉🎉
Ozzie keeps us on our toes as always but he & Mary Grayson put in some nice rounds Sunday for good ribbons in the Younger Adults.
On to Memphis Charity!!

Week 1 in Germantown ✅
Southern Sky had a successful schooling show- 3 horses, 3 tricolors- can’t beat that!

We are so pleased with our “green beans” who braved the puddles in the Very Green Hunters. Radiate “Charlotte” with Mary Grayson Fauser was champion & Happy with Lilly Misciskia was reserve.
So proud of Addie Wagner who had a very spicy pony today in the chilly, windy & wet conditions. She did not let that deter her though! She & Illuminate “Toby” took Champion in the 2’ Opportunity division. 🎉🎉

2 horses- 2 champions- Southern Sky had a great week at Brownland! Celebrate “Ouzo” started the week off right by taking the tricolor in the Baby Green division with Kelly Mullen. Thanks Kelly for the great rides!
Not to be outdone by his little brother, Captivate “Ozzie” got his own tricolor in the younger Adult Amateur division with Mary Grayson Fauser. They also won the combined Adult classic.

Next stop- Germantown for 3 great weeks of West Tennessee Hunter Jumper Association shows!!

Southern Sky had fun Exel-ing!
Highlights include Lilly Misciskia and Happy earning Champion in the Very Green Hunters & 2nd in the classic, Mimi Hickerson & Red Cap winning a huge Low Hunter class on Saturday and they were 7th in the Derby on Sunday. The baby brigade joined in on the fun- 4 year old Charlotte made her show debut & 4 year old Ouzo gained show experience and competed in his first Derby! Mary Grayson is having fun with these 2 special youngsters!

Huge thanks to Brittany Kasprack & her crew that work tirelessly with a smile on their face throughout LONG days to put on these shows!! We appreciate all of their hard work!!

Our small but mighty Southern Sky group had a successful week at Brownland Fall 1. Proud is an understatement- these girls have put so much hard work & effort in their horses and it is paying off! The weather may have been less than optimal, but they persevered to great results.

EG & Candor were section A champions of the combined 3’3” junior hunter division with 19 entries, winning 2 over fences classes and placing 3rd in the Junior Hunter classic. Well done!! 🎉🎉Kimberly Pruitt Flynn

Week 2 in Brownland did not disappoint! It was hot 🔥🔥 but our Southern Sky group persevered!
Ellie Grace Flynn & Candor “Carl” were champions in the 3’3” Small Juniors, winning 3 over fences classes and they were also 4th in the combined classic! Congratulations EG & welcome to Southern Sky!!
Mary Grayson Fauser made a successful return to showing after time off for an injury- she and Captivate “Ozzie” were first or second in every Pre-Adult class on their way to the championship. So glad to have MG back!!
Thanks to Clay Alder for piloting baby Ouzo (Celebrate) to great Baby Green ribbons this week & winning a Low Hunter class with Ozzie.

The Southern Sky horses had a great week at Brownland Summer! Captivate “Ozzie” was Champion in the Low Hunters, winning 2 over fences and the under saddle. Celebrate “Ouzo” was reserve champion in the Baby Greens, winning 2 over fences & taking a red ribbon in the under saddle. Thank you to Clay Alder for the fabulous rides & thanks Phoebe Sheets for all your help!
Mimi Hickerson came along to help and we could not have done it without her tireless work. On to week 2!

Southern Sky wrapped up a fun week at the Germantown Charity Horse Show!
Highlights include:
Baby Ouzo “Celebrate” was Baby Green Hunter champion. Thank you to Clay Alder for filling in while Mary Grayson is on the injured reserve list! Thanks also to Phoebe Sheets for your help this week.

Toby “Illuminate” & Lilly Johnson had clear rounds all week in the jumpers and ribboned in every very large class! Lilly is off to college and had a great final show. Toby did double duty as a lead line pony too. ❤️

Clara Hickerson & Porter “Red Cap” had good ribbons in the huge Low Childrens Hunter division including the blue ribbon in the under saddle! Clara was super busy all week with her Princess duties as well.

The icing on the cake for Southern Sky was winning the Hunter Jumper tack room decorating award!!

Emma Monroe, honorary Southern Sky girl, who is graduating from LSU Lab School in Baton Rouge and will attend LSU.

Elena Grace Scott who graduated from U of Memphis with a degree in Health Science with a concentration in Exercise, Sport, and Movement Science.

Mary Grayson Fauser who graduated from U of Memphis with a her B.S.N. in Finance.

Hannah Cooper who graduated from Ole Miss with a Masters of Arts in Journalism.

Southern Sky kicked off April with two great weeks in Germantown at WTHJA’s Springtime shows. Our small but mighty group had fabulous results both weeks!

Week one, Mimi Hickerson and Saint Loise brought home the reserve championship in the .85m child/adult jumpers with incredible rounds! 🎉Week two, Mimi borrowed sister Clara’s Red Cap and was champion in the competitive low childrens hunters and also took the blue ribbon in the low childrens equitation on the flat AND over fences. 🎉

Mary Grayson Fauser & Captivate were champion in the adult hunters week one and reserve champion week two. 🎉🎉

Illuminate went back to his happy place in the jumper ring and had speedy double clear rounds both weeks- week 1 with MG & week 2 with Lilly Johnson. 🎉🎉

Baby Ouzo “Celebrate” made his show ring debut with some really solid rounds in the USHJA hunters. We are very pleased with his progress! He thinks horse shows are SO exhausting!! 🥱😴

We are so proud of MG and Ozzie for receiving the Overseas Award for highest scoring Adult Amateur Hunter for 2021.
They were also year end Champion in the younger adults for WTHJA, MTHJA and reserve champion for Zone 4. Congratulations on a great year!!

When the awards banquet gets cancelled- why not throw an awards party to recognize all the achievements & hard work from 2021?
So very proud of these girls!!
Lilly Johnson & Bettina Star were champions in the Low Child/Adult jumpers and 3rd in the .90m jumpers. Lilly Misciskia and Illuminate were champions in the 2’ Opportunity. Mallory Phillips & St. Martin were reserve champions in the 2’ Opportunity. Mary Grayson Fauser & Captivate were champions in the younger adult amateurs, 4th in the modified child/ adult & 4th in the USHJA hunters. Captivate also won the Overseas perpetual trophy for being the high score adult amateur Hunter.

Congratulations also to Sofie & Haley- part of the Jiant farm family- trained by Leslie Ragland Gattuso. We were so happy that they could attend!!

As we wrap up our 2021 show season with 3 weeks in Germantown, I could not be more proud of my small but mighty group this year. They have displayed dedication, hard work and resilience. There have been ups and downs, triumphs and heartaches, smiles and tears. I love each one of my girls and I’m so proud of all that they have achieved this year!! 💙❤️💛

We are heartbroken for the loss of wonder mare Bettina Star 💔💔
She gave 110% percent every day and always tried to win, as well as being the sweetest girl. Deepest sympathy to Lilly and all the other people who knew and loved her. We are all the better for knowing the wonderful Tina.

Southern Sky had a great time at the WTHJA schooling show! Beautiful sunny skies made for a lovely day. I’m so proud of all of my girls!! They are all sweet and helpful and cheer each other on. I’m blessed with the best group!
We are looking forward to 2 more weeks of shows- Harvest Time & Memphis Charity.

Southern Sky had a great time at EXEL! We had many champions & classic winners! I’m so proud of my whole group- in a sport that will keep you humble, these girls and ladies were resilient. For example, sometimes you win both over fences classes only to get bucked off in the under saddle…. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m so glad everyone had a good attitude and kept going.
Highlights include:
Toby & Wesli champion WTC Crossrails and classic winner. This was Wesli’s first show with Southern Sky and her first on Toby.
Toby had double duty this week and was also champion in the jumper ring with Mary Grayson.
Joanie and Rocky had great rounds and great ribbons all weekend and made the callback for the Derby out of 30+ entries.
Mallory & Martin were champion in the Mini Stirrup and Mallory won her Eq on the flat class.
Addie and her mare Ellie were champion in the very green hunters- Ellie’s first show!!
Mary Grayson and Ozzie were champion in the 2’9” division and won the $500 Hunter Derby.
Lilly and her new horse Happy had a great time at their first show together & Happy’s first show ever, ribboning in their under saddle class. I couldn’t be more pleased with his attitude all weekend!
Caroline and Ben had great ribbons in their 2’6” division. So happy they joined us!!

I can’t say enough good things about my support crew of parents, spouses and hoof painting boyfriends. They kept us going all weekend & we couldn’t do it without them!!
Also Kudos to Brittany Kasprack & her group! They worked long hours to put on a great show and kept a smile on their faces throughout!! Well done!!

We had a great week in Brownland! 2 girls, 2 horses, 2 champions! Can’t do any better than that!
Lilly & Tina were champion in the low children’s jumpers with 2 firsts & a second in their division, plus they were fast & clear and jumped to 3rd in the combined classic after the monsoon this morning.
Mary Grayson & Ozzie swept the younger adult amateur hunter division, winning all 5 classes and also taking the blue ribbon in the adult classic with scores of 84 & 87.
So proud of these Southern Sky girls and all of their hard work!
