WHO WE ARE: Our two main objectives are:
1. Reduce numbers of the stray dog and cat population on Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan
2. Maintain a healthy owned dog and cat population on Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan
How we do this:
By sterilising and vaccinating the islands stray dog and cat population
By subsidising the sterilisation and treatment of locally owned Bali dogs and cats
By rehoming unwanted dogs and cats that have been born on the island by fostering and adoption within the community
We do not:
We do not support the bringing of dogs and cats over from Bali
We do not subsidise the treatment of locally owned non-Bali ‘Breed’ dogs brought over from Bali
We do not have a rescue centre where we keep dogs and cats, rather working within the community to foster and adopt

We are heartbroken to share that Sally’s condition continued to deteriorate and with the vet we made the decision the end her suffering 💔 Your generosity enabled her to receive the best chance possible, we only thought she had been hit by the truck but she was in fact also fighting on several front 😔 we do not have the final vet bill yet, any funds donated to Sally left over will go towards treatment and medication for future animals in need. Days like this are so hard, hug your precious ones extra tight today 🙏

Good morning, update on Sally's condition until this morning is still lethargic, and the vomiting response is still there, and the stomach feels distended. Sally's progress until today is not so good, sis.

A distended stomach that feels fluid can indicate internal bleeding or problems with internal organs that are damaged and cause infection inside.

Can we continue with Sally's organ examination today? The examination price is 700,000 to see the parameters of her kidneys and liver.
If the results are not so good, and cause Sally pain, we suggest considering euthanasia 🙏

To update on Sally's condition, she has taken a slight turn and is not able to be released into foster care quite yet. We have had 2 very generous offers to foster and will hopefully be able to move Sally in to temporary foster in the coming days. Thank you all for your generous donations towards her treatment. We will keep you posted as her condition progresses 🙏

You may notice that a lot of the dogs on the island roam around 🐾 Some of these are strays however most are owned 🐾
Owned or stray - if a dog tries to get on your scooter PLEASE politely decline and gently shoo it off 🐾 do NOT take dogs away from their territory under any circumstances, no matter how much they try to persuade you 🐾 While it may seem sweet and funny in the moment 🐾 having dogs taken out of their territory can lead to them becoming lost and possibly attacked by other dogs🐾
While holidaying here you may find a local dog takes a shine to you, which is lovely, please remember it is likely owned and there is no need to take it in and feed it (although treats and petting are usually welcome) 🐾
Please do not give any animals here medication without first checking with us if we are aware of the animal - double dosing can have serious consequences and some treatment takes weeks to show an effect 🐾
Of course, if you spot a sick or injured dog please do let us know 🐾

URGENT TEMPORARY FOSTER HOME on BALI NEEDED FOR TWO WEEKS - Sally was found in a ditch on Nusa Lembongan. She was brought to Bali for treatment however the vet says she needs care for another two weeks before she is strong enough to have the operation. We are a rescue and it is too expensive for us to keep her in the vet for those two weeks. Is anyone able to look after her for two weeks until she is well enough to have the operation? We will provide all of the medication she needs during those two weeks and she just needs to be kept inside and safe.

Parvo is on the island and many animals are getting sick and dying.
It is a very serious often deadly infection but it is easily vaccinated against.

Every puppy and kitten over 2 months MUST be vaccinated or the consequences could fatal.

If you or your friends or neighbours have a puppy or kitten please share this message.

Parvo is not contagious to people BUT people can spread it – wash your hands after touching any animals and if you have a sick animal do NOT touch other animals. Your dog/cat must be taken to the vet as soon as possible to start treatment.

For vaccinations - we will be sharing the details as soon as we know when the vet will next be on the island.
