Homeward Hound is on the move! Nobody worry, I am finally putting down permanent roots in Connecticut and will be even more conveniently located for many of my clients now! I’m not going anywhere, you’re all stuck with me. 🤣 I just want to extend an enormous thanks to the most incredible realtor. How lucky am I to celebrate my birthday today with some of the best pups around. ❤️ Honorary mention to Charlie, who nearly had us both rolling in the grass with the enthusiasm behind one of her special Charlie hugs. The dog slobber prints on my glasses are the best gift I could ask for. 😂🥰

Isn’t my wedding date the cutest? Last week I had the absolute honor of escorting Georgia to her parents’ wedding. I am so thankful to have been given the opportunity to be a part of such a special day and it means so much not only to have the trust every day with your pets but even more so on one of the most important days. Truly, I am so lucky to get to spend my days surrounded by the best pets and the best people and so much love. I feel blessed beyond measure. To Katie and Joe, wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness and whenever you would like to get started on that farm full of golden retrievers, I’ll be ready to take care of them all. 😂

A huge thank you - to everyone who has been a part of this weird and wild year, to every pet who gave me all their love and lost their minds with joy when I showed up, to every new client who joined the Homeward Hound family and to all who hung around for another year. It has been a year of growth and expansion, of so many new clients and new animals and new friends. And for everyone who has carried on from years past and into this new year, I am so grateful. From the bottom of my heart - thank you, thank you, thank you. To a bright and happy 2022 and tons of new memories to be made.

I have been so lucky over the past few weeks to have some amazing new dogs join the crew, so it’s introduction time starting with this sweet boy. Meet Bernie! He is a lot of love and happiness packed into a tiny little body, supervisor of all the local wildlife (someone has to keep those squirrels in line!) and is definitely the zoomies champion of the world. He also could not look more handsome in a tiny raincoat and can hear a bird he wants to chase from a mile off. I could not be happier to be spending quality time with him. Welcome, Bernie!

Today the world lost one of the best dogs around. There aren’t enough words for how special Lila was. Lila never met a snack she didn’t like and spun in excited circles when it was dinner time, loved riding in the car with the windows down, and had the perfect floppy ears that bounced with excitement when she ran. Lila enjoyed every day and in her world, every day was the best day to be Lila. She was infamous for yelling at every UPS/FedEx/mail truck/school bus/Amazon truck/anything that vaguely resembled a delivery vehicle and she would do just about anything for peanut butter. Lila was an incredible dog - a good soul happy for a friend and a snack and some time in the sunshine. And I will miss her terribly. The hardest part of my job is the loss of an animal - whether someone moves away or circumstances change, or the hardest days like today. But this sadness is worth every excited hello, every belly rub, and every walk in the sun where a dog is just happy to be alive. Truly there are no words for how thankful I am every day to be a part of your pets’ lives. Rest easy Lila, and thanks for being my friend.
